We received the same letter this morning - no phone number, just email address Chaoli74@yahoo.com.
I've just reported it to the Action Fraud helpline 0300 123 2040.

Me too. Same Mr Li Chao wrote to me. Very suspicious as I have an extremely rare surname. Chaoli74@yahoo.com. Just another scam. Waste of my time

No phone call, just the same letter as everyone else from Li Chao at Chinese Construction Bank, wanting me to go halves with him on $17.370 million sitting in Xiamen Bank since 2004.Thing is he talks about a John with my surname. I'm not John but there is a firm of estate agents in my town called John & my surname. He should have looked further down the phone book.

My husband received the same communication.  We have a very unusual surname ... the only family in the UK the last time I checked! My husband runs his own business and his name must appear in various business/company directories.  We're all on to this chap but unfortunately there will be some poor bloke out there who will fall for this.

another one yesterday - reported to action fraud - envelope has pay code on it, so surely Royal Mail can trace?

Mr Li Chao is still at it, letter dated 26th Sept 2013. Using number 85281701475. Usual promises, same MO. Will play along for a while to see how far it goes. Recently purchased fishing line from China.

Family member received letter with same story today...as it was posted in UK I assume it is within jurisdiction of UK legal/fraud services and they are being tracked down.

Just received the same letter. Same amount, same company, same Mr Li Chao. Only John I knew with my surname was a school friend whom I saw yesterday nowhere near the Orient.  No telephone number just an e-mail address - chaoli74@Yahoo.com

With reference to Zeros post of 21st Sept. Today..21st Oct..I have recd an email suggesting I can claim my share of over $22m. If the sender can obtain my email I'm sure he can obtain my address and just send me the cheque.

I got the same letter with email contact  fengli147@ymail.com  then a phone call from Mr Feng Li from the same Hong Kong number.
I am so glad I found this information because I was beginning to think it was real.
Now I will try to reopt it to Scotland Yard for Interpol.

My dad received the same via e-mail. Saying some distant relative has left so many million and that he needs to contact him. I searched for this on the internet and found this site. Very concerning!

yup got the same email today posted back at least the last scammer had the decency to send a pic of a cute chic, trouble is they are getting better actually citing the names of real people you can will turn up in a Google search

to see these posts from everyone warning of this type of Scam - I will be getting in touch with the Fraud
services about it.

I have just received the exact same letter and cannot believe they are still sending them out as these letters have been widely reported all over the national press, tv and internet since 2010. I used to work for HM Treasury Bona Vacantia Division - the govt. dept. which deals with intestate estates and - so am fully conversant with the law and procedure in such circumstances. Judging by the poor grammar and obvious lack of understanding surrounding the law, practice and procedure, I suspect that these letters are generated from Nigeria or somewhere similar and are, frankly, laughable. Just for the hell of it, I set up an email address replying that I already had assets in excess of $20 million thank you but that if the sender was interested in a legitimate business transaction that could instantly return him/her $1 million on a $1,000 investment he/she should reply with a full name, address mobile and landline telephone numbers and personal bank account details. Suffice to say, nothing was forthcoming!

Harrow, this not scam, I werk genuine for big bank Hong Kong. I make you werry rich, this won in lifetime opportune to get much big money from man who dye no will. Love you long time!

I just received the Li Chao letter chaoli74@yahoo.com  $17.370m I sent it tp the fraud squad. they can check out address with reverse software and track it down.. Every thing inside me wants to play this idiot along to get more info on the SCAM they are pulling but I don't have the time or patients... Do people really get caught in these SCAMS still... after all the tele shows on this... Sad......
