I receive calls daily from this NRA group (National Recovery Agency). They have called using at least 10 different phone numbers.  When they call my number they are looking for my ex-daughter-in-law who skipped out on a credit card balance.  Who I haven't seen or spoken to in 10 years.  But telling them that I have had no contact with her in 10 years doesn't matter to them.  They continue to call.  And they are NOT the National Rifle Association.  Here is one of their addresses: 2491 Paxton Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111.  Put that address in Google Maps and look at it with Google Street-View.  You can actually see the building they work out of.  It has NRA on the front of the building.  They are bottom feeders that buy bad debit from other collection agencies and banks.  They buy it for pennies on the dollar so anything they can get from you is profit to them.  The only way to get them to stop calling you is to change your phone number.

I got a call asking me to call this number back. They said that it was Aetna calling about my son with some important health information. I'm glad that I looked it up before I called them back! Thanks for the information!

I don't know who this group is, but they are driving me crazy calling every day.  We ARE on the Do Not Call List. We don't have guns or own any money so I don't know why they are calling us!  How can I get them to stop?

Interesting how callees can be so divided on what NRA stands for.  I called the number, and a recording said it was the "National Rifle Association".  Pressing 1 gave me more info about the National Rifle Association.  After that, I could press 3 to be removed from the call list, which I did, and another recording politely noted that while it could take up to 30 days by law to be removed, they would make every effort to do it sooner.  I had to key in my phone number for removal.

Yes 855 856 4583 is the National Rifle Association. But thats not who calls you. The National Recovery Agency uses their # to hide behind. Its called misdirection. You don't think for a moment that they are going to expose their own # so people can call them back or report them do you ? They have been calling me for years now trying to find out where my daughters ex husband lives as he owes tons of money. I laugh at how many people think the DNC list is going to work just because they sign up. Dream on. I've been on it for over 10 years and it hasn't worked for me. We need legislation to prevent callers from being able to acquire large banks of toll free #s. Many folks have call blocking devices but they only block so many calls. If these enema bags don't get through on 1 # they just use another.

Thanks for the list of area codes these B A S T A R D S us. I have blocked all of these as I don't care to have the phone ring from them ever again. If a number is not local to me fat chance of getting through. I bought a Panasonic phone system for $99 at the local wholesale club that blocks 250 individual numbers or a series of numbers like 877, 888, 800, etc. If something is important enough send me registered mail otherwise pound sand.

We receive calls from 855-856-4583 multiples times during the day on our home number, they leave no message on the answering machine.  They call morning and what I consider late at night.  Even Sundays?  If I could block them I would, but I don't think I can do that with a landline, only on my cell service.  Oh well.

I just got a call from a very pushy gruff sounding man! He said he was with the NRA, I told him I am on the 'Do Not Call" list and for him NOT to all back. He tells me he can call back whenever he likes because its sanctioned via the government. I said, "SIR, I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE SANCTIONED BY THE GOVERNMENT - DO NOT CALL BACK HERE AGAIN!" The man starts to repeats his same line but I interrupt him and tell him that I am reporting this phone number! He sounded like a typical NRA nut job fanatic!
