Who ever is calling this number of mine can stop, I don't need any thing from the telephone or the computer.  Stop it now. You should find something that is intelligent to do besides wasting your life making  people miserable.

This is the phone number for Ashford University, which is owned by Bridgepoint Education.  If you are being called it is because you have either indicated somewhere that you were interested in receiving information about higher education.  They do not make random cold calls to people.  If you don't want to receive any more calls, just answer the phone and ask them nicely to put you on the "do not call" list.  The call logs are monitored and the employees will get in trouble if they call anyone who is on that list (actually your phone number no longer shows up in your record).

Nancy, get over yourself...Its not foreign people taking American citizens jobs..To me you sound like a racist bigot.  You also sound like someone who feels that just because your an american citizen, you are entitled to a job.  Like I said, get over yourself!

Disregard these posts about the calls being from a university.  Its an illegal phone scam folks.  I started getting calls starting this morning, (at about 5 now) from the following numbers 866-421-4643, and two numbers from Poway CA 858-513-9240.  Report them to the FCC.  Here's the link http://www.fcc.gov/guides/unwanted-telephone-marketing-calls

Yes, this # is legitimate, Ashford University is an accredited institution. If you simply ask them not to call, they gladly stop.

They never leave a message.  You have to call back to figure out who it is.

I've already asked them to remove me from their call list.  They did for a few weeks, now the calls started up again.  The first call was at 10am, then, 1:55pm, 2:16pm...I finally called back again to ask them to remove me a second time.  What a waste of cell phone minutes!

Same, at various hours of the day, many of which were after the 8PM cut off for calls like that. I requested information, especially on the financial aid end-by EMAIL and SNAIL mail only, not by REPEATED NUMEROUS DAILY Phone calls. If I were really interested, I would either answer your call or return your repeated messages.

You requested information, they don't just call you by mistake. You either looked for jobs online. requested information or tried to sign up for an incentive and put in your information for a free iPad or something. Want the calls to stop? Answer and say please take me off the calling list. If you just keep answering and hanging up or saying "i'm not interested" it does not help.I especially hate when people say "sorry I can't talk right now I'm at work"...why did you answer your phone in the first place? Honestly they don't want to work with you if your not interested or rude.

The logic is that you had requested information at one point in time. Most people get upset because all the schools are calling so they just say "i'm not interested take me off the list." They give you a breather and then call you again  to check in and see if you were just not interested because you were frustrated or what. Ashford Admissions counselors are there to help you, and they don't want to get you enrolled if your not going to be a good student. But you did request information at one point so they just take that into consideration.
