Claimed to have identified my area as being subject to hackers and that they were calling to help prevent it. Told her that's what she's doing and that I'm IN IT, hung up.

Got a call from this number my caller I.d said suspect spam Martin F they didn't leave a message so I called them back seconds later and it said the number was not in service

Ask them what IP address they see when they are calling. They will hang up very quickly.

Caller ID showed: 860-951-7532. This is a SCAMMER.  They call claiming your computer is telling "them" it has a virus.  They read from a script, asking repeatedly if you are the "owner and primary user of this computer".  I kept them on the line several minutes claiming to believe their schtick because I knew it was a scam (and they robo-called my cell phone).  When I told them I knew this was a scam, I was called "A Big Humpty-Dumpty Head."

this is a telemarketing company - in Hartford Conn - that tries to enter your computer, plant a virus, and then tries to sell you into having them fix it.  They say they are with Microsoft and your computer sent them a warning.  Total bull.......
