Yeah, and after all these sleazy telemarketing calls with no organization name on the caller ID, never leaving a message, and constantly changing their number -- like we're going to trust them !?

Most of the money they collect goes to the telemarketers. I'm contributing to more efficient and more ethical charities. I'd rather give the money to a local, big city teaching hospital that does lots of research.

Have been getting calls from this (& several other) toll-free numbers. I don't answer & they don't leave a message. Found on here that they're calling about the American Heart Assn.'s Good Neighbor collections. Looked at AHA's website and found their number, 1-800-242-8721. Call and tell them you want your number removed from their database. Lady said they've received lots of complaints about the third-party service that's doing their calls -- calling repeatedly, all hours -- and it's under investigation. FYI -- she asked for my name, zip, phone number & found my listing in their database (she read my address back to me). Then she asked for my email address, but I didn't see any reason to give that. Supposedly, I won't be getting their calls.

Sheila is right.  The lady who answered was frustrated that those folks they contracted to do this marketing are pissing off a lot of people.  She thinks they are talking to the folks they call, but all the calls I've had for the past months (4 times a day) have been hangups.

1-800-242-8721 - call and insist your number be removed.  Move through the prompts until you get to 0 for the operator.

I will not donate any money to these a$$HOLES EVER AGAIN.

They have called us repeatedly for a week despite telling them to stop and making the online complaints at donotcall.gov  What a freaking joke the donotcall registry is.

The AHA has control of their people.  They should simply cut off the contract for any of this crap.  I'm sorry, but for this to go on so long is disgusting.

There is no laws broke with calling your household Legally they can call 8:00am and till 9:00pm. No laws broke but there is some fault in what you are saying.. Once they call your house and you don't answer you get put as a call back. Then they call you 25 hours later. That is how the system works. Also other charity's can be using thy number, if you don't like the calls, get smart and stop them.... But please, be smart enough to no that screaming IM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST. will do you no good. And maybe instead of getting all worked up about it, maybe listen to what they have to say. You could make a difference. Treat others how you would want to be treated. Life is hard enough and everyone needs a job. So why make it harder on telemarketers?

If you are so torn up about being called, especially by an organization that could be saving you or your kids one day, maybe you should grow a heart. Is it really so aggravating to take out at the most 2 minutes of your day to listen and just say no? Those callers that call you might not be finically able to go to school and this is the only job that they could get and it's the only thing that keeps clothes on there children's backs and food on the table... Seriously it's not so bad. So think about things like that and don't be rude.

This number has called us 5 times today and they hang up every fricken time!! So I called it back, it's Retoxer Health line promoting some sort of male enhancement pill. So I pressed 1 to speak to a representative. Some lady came on and asked to speak to my husband, I said he was unavailable. I asked her if she would please stop calling, and that we are not interested in the product. She replied, I'll call back at another time to speak to your husband. I then repeated clearly that we were not interested, where she then repeated that she will call back again to speak to my husband and then hung up on me!! Seriously... what the hell?? Any ideas what I can do?? is this not harrasement to continue calling. My husband and I both work and pay the bills. I also asked him if there was any reason why a company of such nature would call and want to speak to him. He didn't have a clue about it.

Perhaps not a felony, but still not legal to put something in a mailbox:  See this:  http://about.usps.com/news/state-releases/tx/2010/tx_2010_0909.htm  Quoting the first paragraph: "The U.S. Postal Service would like to warn people that only authorized U.S. Postal Service delivery personnel are allowed to place items in a mailbox.  By law, a mailbox is intended only for receipt of postage-paid U.S. Mail."

i got a call from 211 on my cell phone, when i answered it he didnt state his name or what he was calling from,i knew it was 211 as it read on my cell phone. the first thing he said was my computer was being hacked into, i then said which one he said the one you use the most, i said i use both, he said the one that you were using last night. at first i didnt think anything of it so i was on the phone with him for 43 mins and 33 seconds. towards the end he was trying to sell me some computer protection software,. now that i think of it me and my friend both thought that it was suspicious and neither one of us heard of 211 calling people about computer problems, i knew 211 is an info line and that it is used for anyone to call it. and that it maybe a hacker himself, my question is how did that person knew i was using a laptop that night?. he told me that he was going to call back so he can sell me the software protection because i dont have any money, but im glad that he never called back.

The continual calling is obnoxious. If I wanted to donate to this association, this would definitely deter me from doing so.  I have volunteered for the in the past, but have repeatedly requested they withdraw my name form their call list. Obviously, they have no intentions of doing so.

Its the American Heart Association (or one of t heir contracted solicitors) wanting you to mail envelopes in February for them.  When I told them I had health problems and wouldn't be able to, they still wouldn't give up but kept up their persistent rhetoric trying to persuade me to do so.
I ended up hanging up on them.

    Dear InfoCision:

I've called & called & asked & asked, yet for 3 years you won't remove me from your list.
I no longer believe you when your agents say I'll be removed.
You're giving the American Heart Association a bad reputation.

How can you sleep at night?

I'll continue to file complaints with both the FCC & the SEC every time you call.

(called again today at 5:44 pm)
