Though my number is on The National Do Not Call List, I have also had numerous calls ...which I don't answer....from them. So, I just called the number back , which was answered  "American Heart Association" , I reminded them that calling numbers on this list could get them a significant monetary fine...like $1000! They said they  would remove my number immediately. Seeing the posts above helped me to feel safe calling them, bc they had never left a message and only the number would show up on my Caller I.D.
( How do we even trust that they ARE the American Heart Association anyway?)

Repeat that call back is free. I believe this is a robo call however it is very upsetting to an older person.

I was asked to do this a couple of years ago. The American Heart Assoc mails a volunteer a packet with copies of a letter asking for a donation. The volunteer gives the letter to their neighbors, on the list that they are provided, then goes back and picks up the donation from the neighbor. The volunteer then mails the donations back to the American Heart Assoc.

This number keeps calling, at least twice daily, when you answer, it clicks. Like someone hangs up

They have called over 10 times this week. Ishut my diner off while watching TV my caller I'd comes on TV screen.shut ringer off when I go to bed.family and friends know to leave a message.voice down on and machine too

Wayne - you apparently have the wrong "call blocker" system. I use a Panasonic phone system that will block up to 250 numbers. It will block any number one wants - toll free of not. Now(after 18 months or so) have 180 blocked numbers. Not sure what I will do when it's full - maybe they will offer a larger capacity system soon. My only complaint is that I cannot block an entire area code - like 202, which is D.C.

These people are also calling me.  They keep changing their numbers from 1-866-619-5010, 1-866-211-1876, 1-866-283-1935.  They definitely won't get any donations from me by constantly calling me on different number.

Call at all hours and any day.  No one is on the line. Stop calling!!

Wayne, I know your post is more than 6 years ago. This is now 2016, and I've been able to block toll free calls at least during 2015. Prior to that, I wasn't getting all these phony baloney calls.

Yet another # supposedly for the "American Heart Association." Even though I blocked the #, I decided to call out of curiosity. Supposedly they're calling about a letter campaign for February. I told the woman, "Why do you bother calling?" I'm disgusted with these prank calls. Do these people think we're so stupid to go along with their antics? I sincerely doubt it's the American Heart Association.

Same old, same old!  They will send kits for you to canvass your neighborhood looking for donations. We did this several years ago and had 1 hit!  Our neighborhood doesn't have anyone with cash to spare and/or don't care.  So, I've declined.

Please understand multiply calls, while not leaving a message is extremely annoying. Leave one message and those that are interested will call back. This is a good way to turn potential helpers away.

Calls continuously even though I turned my answering machine off.

Have gotten three calls from this number in the last 2 days.  When I answered it there was no one there.

I got call from this number a few minutes ago. Once I got the person on the line, I launched into the Doxology (also known as Praise God, From Whom All Blessings Flow), then went into All Creatures of our God and King and when I was in the middle of Sweet Hour of Prayer, she said she was with the American Heart Association and that she would try again later...and she hung up.

She can try again all she wants. She is going to be serenaded with gospel music every time she does - so I hope the telemarketers read these. (If she does, I want her to know that I don't blame her for hanging up before I got to my "seasons of distress and grief." I try hard to sing well - but I'm not very good at the tune. However, I know most of the Baptist Hymnal by heart and I am perfectly willing to sing it all if they want to hold on long enough.)  :)

My advice is to do something you enjoy and don't let them get a word in edgewise.

You don't have to cuss them out, slam down the phone in their ears or deafen them with a blast from a whistle.

Remember that if they don't make a sale, they don't make any money. As long as you keep them from saying anything - while you do something you find entertaining - you win. Added bonus: you get a good laugh out of it when you hang up the phone AND your blood pressure doesn't go up!

As for me, I am saving all the posts that I make about these different numbers and plan to compile them into a book when I retire and pitch it to publishers as a humor book. I think people will get a good laugh out of these.  :)

Hey, American Heart Association, you're calling a fellow NON-PROFIT and hanging up on us DAILY. If you want a bad reputation, this is how to go about it. Looks like you've been a thorn in everyone's side for well over FIVE YEARS by the looks of this site. Why on Earth haven't you changed the company you outsource your telemarketing to? They SUCK.

They don't even get the right name.  I have asked them to remove my number from their list.  How many times do you have to tell these people NO, I am not interested, I am not going to send donations envelopes to all my neighbors, and stop calling me.
