I never received any calls but 866-230-7761 was attached to my bank account statement with withdraw amounts, 6 all together in $25-$50 dollar increments and to the tune of $250.00 before I realized OMG and then went directly to the bank, reported this number and the withdraw pattern to the powers that be and they are in the process of an investigation. I had to change everything on my account. Funny, I do not know anyone in jail, never speak to anyone in jail, nobody calls me from jail,  I have no account with this company so this is either a very big mistake of just a plain Rip Off. Please, check your online banking just in case and hopefully if this is happening to you, you will get to it before real damage is done.  Not that $250.00 is not real damage to some.

Received 7 calls today alone, starting at 3:30am!  Not sure what this about because I don't know anyone that is incarcerated.  You can't understand the name that the supposed inmate says, if you can hear anything at all.  I suspect this is some kind of scam.  Have called the police and the phone company and they were both pretty useless.  Police said phone calls are stopped by 10pm, but I get one at 3:30am?  The message says this is a call via "GLOBAL TEL" for an inmate from my city.  THen proceeds to tell you that it is a collect call and to accept hit "0" , "4" to hangup, or 7 to ban these calls.  After dialing the 7 it gives you a local number to call.  When you call the number it puts you on hold.  I'm sorry for the poor b**t**d in jail that got my wrong number...

I recieved a call from them on my WORK phone! I do know someone incarcerated; but i am going through another network CBS for those calls through my personal cell number....He has NEVER called me at work (and honestly i dont even think he KNOWS the name of my job!) ever so I find that a bit odd and bit annoyed that a VM was left at my job from this company.

Don't do that, they are really RIP-OFF, if yo uwant to know about gobel you have to googlel it and there are many comments people were talking about GObel TEl Link, before you don't want to pay tho, i got a friend in jail tried to call me 9 missed called, i haven't set up but found out people were saying do not pay at all they are rip off..  go ahead read it.

I keep getting this everyday from it says a federal prisoner in lock u p in federal court to accept it dial 1 and i dont know who the hell it is ! wish they would stop

just received a call from "an inmate" and to call 8662307761, was on hold a while but only a recording telling us how to set up "an account".  We called Comcast, our carrier, and they couldn't verify this number.  Is this a scam?

You may have to call yr telephone provider and have them place a block n yr number

Its sad that I lost my son 4months ago and he only called collect from jail, Well last night I started getting these phone calls, started out with a # of 928 718 0630 then it became unavailable then 2 today said it was Global links and Thank God I researched, What a sick joke. I hope someone can do something about this. I really wondered if they had made a mistake about my son! There all kinds of sick people in this world

This is not true.  This is the number that I call to add minutes to talk to my boyfriend in jail.  It's not a scam.

It is not a scam, it is a phone connection service, people in jail cannot call collect so relatives must pay this company in advance so they can receive calls from relatives and/or friends that are in jail.

It is a SCAM - I have received over 25 phone calls from 713-574-1101 - that directs me to set up an account by calling this number.....I actually called the jail the first day after getting about 5-6 phone calls to have them tell the inmate that he was calling the wrong number and that I didn't know him.  But as it turns out the phone calls are not really coming from an inmate in jail.  The jail assured me that noone at the jail had called me....Inmates can't make phone calls the hours that I got half of these calls!!!  It is just a way for someone to get your credit card or bank info.  There may really be a company out there that does this the legal way for actual inmates - But the phone calls I'm getting are nothing but a scam!

I am reporting getting an automated phone call from an unidentified inmate for me to set up a payment account. What do I do about it?
