Supposedly a message from chase confirmation which I did not request, "If you did not request this confirmation code please call 866-355-3744". Scam probably.

This is DEFINITELY a phishing operation. I emailed Chase through my secure online connection and they emphatically stated that the 866-355-3744 is NOT a Chase number and they promised to look into it. The idiot Scott's comments above lead me to believe that he is one of the perpetrators. DO NOT, call this number as nothing good can possibly come from this, except giving someone the information they might need to access your account.

**SCAM** I got the same call as described above about a confirmation code. I looked up the number here and saw that it was a scam. They finally answered the phone after 3 minutes on hold.  When she answered she asked me for my full account number. I delayed her a bit saying I was looking for my wallet. I mentioned how this call could be mistaken for a scam, since I hadn't requested a change to my account. She said they do this for their customers' protection. We went back and for a while since I asked her to give me my address and other information since they called me and I had a confirmation code. She came up with a lame excuse that they aren't allowed to give out any information because protecting their customers information is important to them. When I accused her of being a scam artist she said I should go to my local branch of JP Morgan Chase. I thought that was rather clever, but in the end it still didn't help her. You see, I wasn't looking for my wallet. I was looking for my 120db whistle. I found it and gave her a blast. She was rather upset, so while I still had her on the line I gave her another. I hung up and called Chase and they confrmed the call was not affiliated with the company.

I don't know why chase says it's number, and it's not listed on chase.com. But, i requested code from chase (online) and I received call from this number. Anyway, i called this number and I reached chase rep.

This is a scam!!! Do not provide them with any information. Call your local Chase Bank and speak with a banker. This is not a Chase #.

The # they called from was 877-226-5663

The # they asked to return call if you did not request PIN for access to account:

Just got a call this morning for the same thing.  Showed up as "Chases Internet" on my phone with number 877-242-7372.  I'm glad I found this info on this website and can't believe Chase isn't looking into this fraud.  I will be reporting this as well.

I got the the call today (9/30/2013).

The call came to my cell phone from 877-242-7372.  Since I didn't know the number, I let it go to v/m.  I checked the message and an automated voice says my new Chase Online Identification Code is..... and then tells me to call 866-355-3744 if I did not request this.   I got a text message at the same time.

    1.  I don't have any Chase accounts and I have a credit monitoring service.  So, I would know if someone tried to open an account with my info.

    2.  The "Online Identification Number" in the voice mail did not match the one that they texted me.

    SCAM - SCAM - SCAM

Yep, I am an idiot, I returned the call....the answering matrix seemed legitimate, I choose to talk to a Chase representative and then it went down hill.
I did not give them my Chase card number...nope, instead I gave them my SSN, STUPID!!
They asked follow up questions including my street address, then the give away they asked three questions relating to my "public" record. When they asked me confirm my daughter's month of birth I knew I had been scammed, that maybe public record, it was not part of any credit application or security question I had established. GREAT, now what.
I have spent the morning talking with Chase ( this is a scam), my bank, my credit union and soon I have to tell my husband how stupid I was.
CHANGE your Chase user name (they had that), change your password, notify Experion, Equifax and Transunion that your credit maybe compromised. Get a credit report today, next month, the next month and the next month.
Save yourself my headache....DON'T RETURN THE CALL.......

I just got this call a few minutes ago. The same automated call with the access # and telling me to call 866-355-3744 if I did not request it.  I called it... and it did sound exactly like Chase.  But I hung up and called the number on the back of my debit card to be safe.  The rep consulted with the security/fraud department and they were able to figure out that it was a REAL call, BUT not for my account.  Someone else had requested an access number, mistakenly put in my phone number, then they requested it again with their correct number.  So if they are telling me all is well... is it really???  Seems Chase told some of you it was a scam!!

I received a voice mail from this 866-355-3744 at 11:15PM about a 8-digit access code, and asked to call back if I did not request for it.  When I called back, the automated response was exactly like what from Chase when I called to report this FRAUD.  A woman came up and started to ask for account number or social security number for further check.  I was naive enough to provide the account number.  She said someone had requested for the 8-digit account number, and for security reason, she asked me for my home address.  Following that, she began to ask for more personal information such as debit card number.  I began to feel suspicious and checked the phone number at the same time, and found that it is a SCAM.  I asked her name, which she identified as Katherine Rosario, and even provided a reference number #85415056421 for me to check with Chase tomorrow morning that she is a legitimate Chase employee.  I told her I don't believe that she was from Chase, because she did not have my Chase information.

I called Chase Customer Service 1-877-242-7372, and they confirmed that the 866-355-3744 number does not on file with Chase.  I filed a fraud report with Chase immediately.

THIS NUMBER IS A FRAUD !  DON"T RESPONSE OR PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION.

It's November 11, 2014, and apparently they're still running this scam.  Just got a call from 877-242-7372 claiming to be CHASE and telling me to call 866-355-3744 for security.  How are they STILL doing this?  A$$holes.

They believe they are a chase call center in Texas. I called them moments ago.

It is likely RECIPIENTS of calls are seeing a SPOOFED number.

OBVIOUSLY never volunteer personal information when someone calls YOU.

Pick an ITSP you trust and use their CallerID filtering to stop this kind of abuse cold.
