I have been getting calls from this number. The man by the name of Phil Dyer had called my work several of times. He tell me that my family is in very deep trouble. That I need them to call him. He will not tell me what this is all about. If he call again I think I will report him.

just stay on the damn phone a make sure they remove the #. If they are calling for  a john smith and all u say is stop calling me, per the fdcpa they dont HAVE to stop, you did not confirm they actually have the wrong #, all your doing is handling the situation unprofessionally. If they are calling for you and you want them to stop just send in a cease and desist letter, or just take care of your debt. its a simple as that black and white.. oh and if they are calling a number this "person" owned two years ago, its prob listed on their credit report and the best thing for you to do if its that much of a burden for you to tell them its the wrong #, u dont know that person, then change your #.

I had a student loan that went into default, it wasnt that much but I wanted to go back to school, I was referred to this company (acsi) from the department of education, I called and talked to lila and she helped me get onto a payment plan for 9 months at $55.00 per month after 6 months I will get a letter releasing me to receive Financial aid again (go back to school).
If your having a problem with the debt collectors that are calling you maybe you should take the step to do something about it rather than sitting here complaining about it...

ACSI is a legit debt company, unfortunately they cannot by law speak about the debt with anyone but the debtor, which is why answering machine message get "scary" messages that are ambiguous and why if you cal them back and demand to know what it's about they won't talk unless they verify who you are. They make a [***] of change off their debt collecting and student loan rehab, but they also do want to help you get your loan rehabbed. Remember defaulting on student loans is not like defaulting on normal loans the government and institutions that provide government subsidized student loans don't have to adhere to all the normal debt collection laws, and they don't even need a court order to put a lean on your house or garnish your wages.

    Rich.
Man with deep voice called claiming to be  a Ron Powell called us to verify info about friend. NOT sure why.
Called my friend who explained that they did not apply for a job and I'm pretty sure they didn't have a student loan for other loan for them or their children.  They have been divorced for years and all financial problems were solved years ago.

This agency ACSI (1-866-376-7835) is a debt collection agency. I deal with them to get my defaulted student loan back on track, I deal with Mike Davis (ext. 1110)who has been very nice and helpful, even helping me to know what I need to do after I catch up because I want to go back to college for my BA. DO NOT ignore these guys because THEY WILL garnish your wages which will cost you three times more than if making the payments on your own, they could also take your income tax refund. Once you are garnished it's too late to make arrangements of any kind!! If you pay your defaulted loan payments on time for 9-10 months you can earn your student financial aid rights back and be eligible for the low-income repayment assistance and other very helpful programs. You can't hide from the FEDS, they will make you pay your student loan back somehow, ACSI is your last option before you are left with 0 options.

Twice today I received calls from number 702 939 8305 . Each time I answered nobody answered so using caller ID I called the number and a very rude female asked what number I was calling from and said the calls I was getting were computer generated. I asked who was calling and hanging up., she said Allied. I asked who Allied was and she said ACSI . I asked who ACSI was and she hung up on me. Now I know: a collection agency.  I just purchased a pre-paid phone and they are obviously looking for the previous owner. I am changing my number!!!

Yes, I am now out of the program, I paid my loan amounts on time for 10 months, Nelnet bought my student loan from ACSI and now I've got my loan back on track and I've got my financial aid rights back so I can start my BA degree. It wasn't easy but I did it.

They also handle delinquencies of other types, not just student loans.

Would love to get caught up, if I had a job. I figured feeding my kids and having a roof over my head was more important. Please try to be a little less ignorant.

I just got a call from these people...asking for my deceased EX husband..woman sounded all urgent...wouldnt not say what ACSI stood for but wanted me to give her all sorts of information about my EX husband.
Further more regarding this post ...if you are in the military you are protected while you serve from any judgements , garnishing etc under the protection of the Sailors and Soldiers Act...go to your HR person or what ever its called in the Military and make them aware of the situation. Before any collection company calls you , you would of gotten a letter from the organization or institute that issued the loan...do not be followed by PHAMTOM COLLECTORS....what I have no idea of is how or where to report them its been a while since I was a credit counselor. Also ...you can tell them to only contact you by mail...that they are not to call you again! If they contact you , report them, find out where, and they will fined, if they are legitamate...which I do not think they are since I heard a boiler room back ground noise..which indicates they are scammers! God help us all1

Got a VM from Matt Clark 866-376-7835 x 1102 in a very deep voice stating that he was trying to locate address and telephone number for me - really, because I have received absolutely nothing in the mail and have lived at the same address for 4 yrs and own my home. Others reported it was collection for student loans so probably the case - ACS.  Quit paying my student loans and filed a complaint after I received confirmation from the US Dept of Education that additional "loans" were put under my SSN for time periods that I was not in school -- over $10,000 alllegedly paid to a university that I had previously attended.  I had started to question when thinking that surely my loans had by now been paid in full as they had never been deferred. Had to get confirmation from that school that I did not attend for those periods and was not ever enrolled for those semesters.  This is absolutely ruining my credit and thought was taken care of because I have not heard from anyone in over 6 mos and now the calls have started again and will con't to have to follow up on my complaints to US Dept of Education and State Attorney General.

If anyone else has issues -- contact US Dept of Education and they can send confirmation of any and all loans under your SSN and where it states the monies were issued and for what enrollment semesters.

This is my 2nd go round with this company and Bernard King. I successfully rehabbed my loans with them last year making a payment of $100.00 a month for 6 months. The loans were then picked up by a legit loan provider, but the payments quadrupled and I defaulted again. After a year, Bernard King started calling me again. This time, he wasn't AS nice as he was last time and had a bigger sense of urgency. He's referred me to www.studentloanconsolidation.ed.gov which is the last gasp effort before the government's big guns come after me and sue me. According to him, the above site (federal program) can consolidate my loans which will get them out of their seriously defaulted state at which time I can apply for a hardship deferral until my situation improves and I can start paying.
This is my sincere advice: do not play games with your federal student loans (or private education loans for that matter. They can and WILL sue you-trust me). I've tried to pretend like they don't exist until "I make enough money", but the best thing to do is contact the servicer or collections agency and work something out. If you make a good faith effort to figure something out, they will work with you, or NOT....and if not, you'll know where you stand, which is better than being in the dark pretending they don't exist.
