got a prank call at 2am sayin to be tested for std.. but I've been tested already and know my status.. so when this guy told me I was freakin out.. I came online and typed the number in and realize this was a prank phone call.

They called me around ten times and whoever was typing to the operator was saying completely inappropriate things. IT freaked me out and really upset and bothered me.

I listed a truck for sale via craigslist.  I received an email back from a interested party asking for my home phone number, I gave them my number.  They called my  number, it came through a relay service that's used from a operator translating for a deaf person.  I went along with it, accepting a check that I received the next day from FedEx.
Asking price for the truck was $500, they sent the check in the sum of $2,500 and asked after I cashed it would I send the remainder to the shipping company... so I did.  Now they are saying they need a additional $500 for the shipping company.  This has been going on for a couple of weeks now.  I did a Google search on the phone number (1-866-394-4494) and noticed that this is more then likely a scam.  I received cash for my truck...... I don't know what else to do, but I'm being asked to send the $500 more for shipping, did I get ripped off? If so how since I got my $500..... or did they get ripped off since I haven't sent them the extra $500.

Follow-up to my previous post (above this one).  Found out that this is a big scam and once the check bounces that my bank will take the funds from my account.   HEADS UP TO ALL!

These pranks that you people speak of are people abusing the system.  It is designed for the deaf.  People that can not speak but that are able to type.  It may also be used by people at work, trying to get things done and dont want their boss to know they are making a hair appointment or whatever.

Similar to the above post about the truck and the check.  I am a body shop and got a call today about repairing an escalade.  Supposedly they wanted me to run their credit card, give the towing comp 3000 and keep 500 for a deposit.  Well I agreed to run the card when the truck got here on the tow truck... then he ended the call.  Im thinking a scam too, but not sure.  Guess Ill know when I have an expensive escalade in my shop that I can hold until I get paid for the services.

I do not know who call me and how, but I got 3 phone calls at 6:00am. I did not heart it at all. What can I do to that....

I couldn't understand jackshit about it, but they spammed my phone by calling 4 times. When I find out who it is, I will break all their fingers.

i got a call from this number at 1:30am. i hadn't heard of the service before but its frightening. i asked the operator to tell me who was calling but she "wasn't allowed to give me any information." Then i asked the person and he/she said "i'm embarassed to say." it really freaked me out and i hung up. hopefully, they won't call again. it was probably a friend pranking me but i guess i've never know.

someone called saying they would kill me and rape my girlfriend...only if these guys has the balls to come face off..!!

I got several calls from this number at 2:30am! They called back like 5 times and finally left a voicemail that said something like "I lost my hearing in an accident, but I just tested positive for HIV and by law have to contact my previous partners" this totally freaked me out for about 2.5 seconds until I woke up enough to realize this wasn't possible...creepy [***] idiots!

We received a call at our home and then on one of our friends cell well at a dinner party. "Freaky!" If you receive a call ... HANG UP!

I got a relay call several times this past afternoon sayin someone wants to message talk with me...I asked several times who it was to operator...operator said they can only give messages back and forth...I wanna know who keeps trying to message or get in contact with me threw this cause it's really annoying...

so they called again and i figured it must b importand.
so i stayed on the phone talking to this operator telling me that the girl typing was sara. i had no clue who she was
but whats wierd is they said names of people in my school all hang togther.
its wierd!

Be sure and tell your state Attorney General about the harassment and their inability to prevent it or provide identifying data about the criminal to authorities.

Recently, I had an experience with this system.  I did not realize that my son's cell phone died. He used his laptop to contact me thru the relay operator.  Suspicious, I hung up on the first call to my cell phone, but reconsidered when the operator called back on the home phone within minutes. My son, who was ill, needed assistance, and altho it was ackward, we were able to communicate thru the operator.  After my initial reluctance to accept the call, my biggest problem was understanding the operator.  I was actually grateful that there an emergency method through which he was able to reach me. I would not, however, recommend this process unless it's a real emergency.  I can see where it could be abused.

That's crazy this number called me like 10 times in a row then when I finally answered it they said they been following me home and been at all my games that's crazy I just hung up now they keep calling my fone back somemore
