phone call to my mom claiming to be from her  mortgage company stating she underpaid this month's mortgage. Asked her for monthly bill amount then told her she underpaid by 60 cents. They said they would route her to another agent who would help her make the payment for the difference so they wouldn't have to charge her a late fee. They provided her with this 866 number and told her that if for whatever reason she was disconnected, she could call that number back. She was patched thru to an operator who answered, "Chase bank." She didn't have her account number on her, so they asked for her SSN which she provided. Calling the number back doesn't work.
