- Barclays Bank| 6 repliesBarclays Bank handles over 70 branded Visa & Mastercard credit cards, including Juniper, Carnival Cruise Lines and LL Bean. It is the 4th largest bank in the world and is a first party collections division of the bank. Check out Barclay's Bank US on-line. It is on an automated outbound dialing system- not an actual person dialing the number over & over. It is based on phone numbers provided by cardholders when they submit an application, and even if the account has never been past due previously, or even if it is one (YES ONE) day past due, the system dials the number in order to collect on the debt. So even if your most recent staement says that the next due date is the 20th of June, you are being called because there was not a payment recieved for the LAST due date of the 20th of May.You have the same due date every month.Even if you are on the Federal Do Not Call Registry, if a debt is owed, they have the right to call until a mutual resolution has been reached. And, by the way, all debt collection practices are regulated by the Federal Government under the Fair Debt Collection Pratices Act and every call is recorded and reviewed on a random basis in order to comply with these regulations. What can I say--credit card debt is ENORMOUS in this country ( and only going to get bigger) and the bank needs to collect on the debt--no different than if you missed a car or mortgage payment or a medical bill payment. We've all (almost all ) been there. It's only going to get worse in the foreseeable future, just like the news reports daily.
Hey-I have a great job with a secure future, good health insurance, and a regular paycheck. If it wasn't me calling,( and I'm a REALLY polite and nice person) someone else would have my job and I would be yet another burden on our already overburdened Federal Assistance Programs.- Caller: Barclays Bank
- aordwayaThey also manage the old Bank of America Credit Cards. Funny thing is I have a different number to contact them through reguarding this card. DONT enter your social security info. Its a scam

- VallyGrr replies to Barclays BankYeah, I used to have a smug, self - righteous opinion of myself just like you. My husband and I were making bank! We upgraded our first home to a bigger one in a safer community. We paid our bills on time. We PRIDED ourselves on making something of our lives. We provided for our children. Took family vacations. And then we found out he had a kidney birth defect. He missed almost 3 months of work recovering from surgery. BUT hey NO PROBLEM. We had savings. And then he went back to work and three weeks later was hit by a delivery van who ran a red light. That was April 2009. He still hasn't gone back to work. Soooo if your so smart you might want to remember YOUR life can change just as fast as ours did. At least I hold a job that lets me sleep at night. The consumer is also to blame but these credit card companies are a scam. We made our credit card payments for a year on time after the accident. But we were trying to get our mortgage converted (which we did) but as soon as the saw we were ONE month late on our mortgage payment they raised our interest rate. I couldn't take enough showers after doing your job to feel clean. I didn't believe in it before but I do now. Its called Karma. You will meet someday. Why would you even go online to defend your "position" Who are you trying to convince us or yourself?
- Consumer lawyer replies to Barclays BankNot entirely accurate. You can send a "no dunning" letter, which will stop the calls. The bank can then sue you to collect, or not, but must stop the calls and letters.
- AngeeGirl replies to deleted postWhat, are you socially challenged? Most the people on here don't have a credit card with this company. They are being harassed for a debt that they DON'T owe. Why don't you give us your phone number and we will call you 10 times a day and ask for money you didn't borrow. OR maybe they have had a life changing event? Bad things happen to good people. That doesn't mean they should be called over and over again all day long. Thats not going to change their financial situation. Don't start acting self righteous. Thats usually when life comes along and slaps a little humility into you. They are credit cards. I use my DEBIT card so I don't have to pay my credit card off every month. Because today credit cards are meant for charging to . It use to be a convenient way to not carry money for some. But there is debit cards now. What would happen if these people stopped using credit cards. Where would you and your job be then? I think they should just get rid of them and the companies that offer them. These banks know what they are getting into in this business. Peoples lives change or they die. Its UNSECURED debt. Don't take it personnel. And watch your back I use to think just like you. Until someone took away my life in a texting while driving accident. Life has a funny way of changing attitudes like yours.
- Sch0nkReceive several calls a day from this number, no one answers or leaves a message.
- JBSo I got a call while I was still sleeping. I looked at it later and even looked up the number on Google. I found from numerous sites that it was a scam so I called them back. First they wanted my account number or social security number. I first put in fake number but they didn't accept it so I waited. I talked to a real person. I asked her what organization she was with. She said "collection agency". She asked for my phone number. I figured I would give it to her since they already had it but then she asked for my last name and my zip code. I asked why they needed that. She said so she could look up my file. I hung up at the time.

- JCI have received a total of 37 calls from several different numbers asking for a Jarod Crockett. This one has called me the most at 16 calls starting on July 13, 2010 at 2:19 PM and they called me twice today (July 26, 2010). I repeatedly inform them that I do not know a Jarod Crockett. Some of the calls tell me that they are from Chrysler Financial but I have never had any dealings with them. They call me using different numbers as well which change every couple of days.

- martinAs long as you have a card with any of their banks that they represent they will hound you. I have one that I transferred to and hope to get it paid off soon, so I can tell them where to go.
- Call type: Debt collector
- SamIts Juniper Visa. I was 12 days mistakenly overdue after paying them $500 the previous month. I owe $200 on my card. They are getting the full amount transferred today and I'm closing my account. Obsessive calls all day long is ridiculous and calls on Sunday (on Halloween at 5pm when I'm taking my kids out)!. This company isn't professional at all. What a joke for such a little credit card amount. I hope they bankrupt, because obviously they are hard up for money. I understand paying your bills on time, but one mishap and you get this! She even offered to credit me my late charge, because I'm never overdue. I told her not to bother that I was done with their company and to mark my account paid in full and closed by the next due date.

- David TsirniskiI have been getting 10 calls a day from these guys. I told them I lost my job and would not be able to pay them until I got another job. They said no problem, but still call me. At first it was friendly reminders, then it became harassing phone calls every hour every day. I finally got fed up and got a new phone number from www.StopHarassing.me and forwarded all of my creditor calls to that number. LOL now they hear the same message over and over again. I hate to do that but they wouldn't understand what I was trying to tell them. Now the message will.
