I just received my mailer today. I could have really used the $25,000 dollars for school. I've been looking into finding a grant or scholarship to help with the cost, so this came to me at a time of need. I kind of felt like it was to true to be good. I'm very thankful for this website. Thanks again.

I got the same letter with an offer for $25,000.  The only thing different about mine was the 800 number.  Mine was 1-877-450-6537.  The first thing I did was Google G.F. Institute because I had never heard of them.  These messages here confirmed my initial suspicions.  Thank you all.

I got a letter like everyone's been describing above and it offered me(like everyone I've seen here) $25,000. And like some people have mentioned the company is suppsed to be in Kansas but the postage stamp is from Carol Stream, Il. It is interesting that I see comments with dates from December 2008 and this people are still in bussiness. I just did a google search about it cos I got a feeling that there seemed to be something wrong with this and I am glad I did and found out it is a scam another thing I found interesting was that when I started to type the "company's" initials the first thing it showed "G.F. Institue Kansas City Kansas". So thanks for the info and the letter I received is goin to the shredder.

I am sure we all were raised nothing in life is free and the only guarantees we have are paying taxes and dying.
take care all and beware not of just this one, they have a zillion people looking for free rides on being nieve. have a blessed day, my bro is:)

I received a letter from these people today 6/13/2009 and checked online to see what they were about. They used a different phone number for me 1-877-450-6542. I have not and will not call them. But would like to report that I received this and am glad I checked to see whether it was a scam.

G.f. Institute from Kansas City Kansas with the Carol Stream IL. permit # 1514 is an overseas scammer. The 800 number the scammer sent me was 877-450-6537.  Notice the back of the letter and read how it's worded on the first line using the phrase "to assist AMERICAN RESIDENTS" A normal letter from a US company would not say AMERICAN, I've only seen scammers from Nigeria say that. A valid US company would say "US". Now if you call the 800 number and pay them $150 DOLLARS FOR PROCESSING you lose $150 dollars and get nothing. I received this scam in the mail on Saturday 6/13/09 and will take it to the post office Monday and report it as mail fraud.  Take everything that offers huge amounts of money for nothing such as you won a lottery or other way out story to the post office. It's mail fraud. The permit number 1514 used on the envelope is linked to a number of non profit organizations which are legitimate.  The postal permit is counterfit or stolen and copied to the mail envelope. The non profits are having to pickup the bill for the stolen permit number. They may not even be aware of the added billing.  Get these mailings to the post office and report them as scams.
