- CeeJay| 9 repliesTO EVERYONE THAT RECEIVED A CALL FROM 866-631-4680. Allow me to explain this to you without hurting anyone's feelings. This is a medical collection company called Medical Revenue Service. It is a 2ndary collection agency calling on medical debt, whether incurred at a hospital or a physician's office, after insurance paid out, with the exception of uncovered, out of pocket services. So, let's say you go to the hospital for a procedure. You have Blue Cross Blue Shield. Your deductible is $500 and it's not met yet, or, your copay is $125. Your total service charges are $5k. So, the hospital will bill your insurance, which will cover your bill, minus your deductible or copay. That's your, or patient, responsibility and your insurance will mail you an EOB (explanation of benefits). If you fail to pay it, guess what? It goes to the 1st round of collections. These collectors are nice. If the debt is still ignored by letters and phone calls because you simply don't recognize the phone number, then it's sent to a 2ndary collections, which is MDS Medical Revenue Service. At this point, being nice stops. As long as MDS follows FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act) and respects the laws in your state (calls 1 number between 8-9pm every 3 days; if you have 3 different numbers, they can call them once in a single day, but every 3 days unless the debtor gives them permission to call back, doesn't harass by calling the same number numerous times in a single day, curse or make fun of a debtor, must begin each call by verifying debtor by DOB or mailing address and completing mini miranda, if a debtor requests to no longer receive calls, MDS must block the number however collections will continue by mail) then MDS is not in violation and can call you. By law, they can't reveal the nature of the call without verifying the debtor first because of HIPPA privacy and personal information only the debtor can hear, unless the debtor approves someone else can talk to MDS. Also, MDS can speak to a spouse in certain states without the debtor's permission. If the debtor is deceased, then MDS will request a death certificate and proof of executor of estate prior to releasing details of call (it's the law). If you have a power of attorney, they will need proof of that as well. MDS can call your home, cell, office, next of kin, and sibling's number as long as they want until you tell the not to. My advice: pick up the phone and pay the debt because A) MDS represents the hospital or physician you originally saw and has your personal information, including insurance information if you have it and B) is the final opportunity for you, the debtor, to resolve the balance before it's reported to the credit bureau. Just answer the phone because it's a valid debt and your hospital provided MDS with the information!

- MattThey call me 2-3 times a month. Ask for my name even after they've said it, ask for my ssn, address, and if I want to "pay with my debit card" and if so the number on my card. These are rude people. I call them off a second number, and they proceed to say they've never called my phone number.

- KawaiiThey're racist, harassers, and inconsiderate [***]. The moment you answer they refuse to name the company they work for, they'll curse, threaten, and demand you give them personal information like your social security number and those of your family. They're worse than loan sharks, if they find out where you live they'll even send people (worse than Jehovah's witnesses) to scope you out. Anyways I recommend blocking the number, buying a large dog, putting a fake customer service voice mail, and NEVER ANSWER THEM!
If you ignore them long enough you'll become a cold case and they'll be forced to have the government take care of the bill. Mine was only high because when I was sick the hospital purposely performed procedures I did not need, claim they gave me a room (when they had me in the waiting room) and refused to answer any questions regarding why they were doing so many unnecessary things.
P.S: The next time you go to a Hospital for care DO NOT GIVE ANY TYPE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION AT ALL!!!! Under the law, whether you provide that or not they are required to treat you. Be sure you're documenting your entire experience, and if they refuse you, show the video to a lawyer and he'll gladly take your case!- Caller: 18666314680

- SDavisI do not owe any debts. Nothing is on my credit reports. I have checked with the company they are stating they are collecting for I have nothing due them.

- SDavis replies to CeeJayNot only did I pay my deductible and co pay up front I also over paid and have a credit with the Doctor office that they claim they are collecting from. The Doctor's office even contacted them by phone and letter and provided me with copies of the notification to this company that I owed nothing to them. I did not have a hospital stay or any lab work that was sent out for processing. These people are unprofessional and assume they are correct.
- John replies to sweetnitesI have no way of know which state you live in or which state the services were rendered in, however; if you were lucky enough that they were in GA, you can tell them to kiss your [***] and fire them and tell them to never to contact you again. You then start keeping a log and I believe it starts after the third call after being advised they start accumulating fines of up to $1,500 per phone call along with restitution to you for harassment. Good luck with this.
- Az. SunshineThey call me several times a day. They hang up even before I answer. Or..when I let me machine answer they hang up. Never once have they told me who they are? They just continue to harass me. I called the phone company yesterday to put me on the do not call list. will be done by this evening. They called at 8:03 this A. m. and hung up. Good luck to you all.

- Louise replies to tia| 1 replyHey....I'm not sure what state you live in?. In the state of Florida there are always attorneys on commercials stating even IF you owe a debt. They can NOT harass you. Tell them NOT to call again. If they continue to call....you can file a lawsuit against them. Sorry your dealing with this. See what you're laws are in the state you reside in. 🌸👍
