Citi Client First department, which is this number. This department handles all accounts associated with Citibank. Such as Credit cards for The Home depot, best buy, Exxon, shell, etc you name it. Also introducing Costco here soon. We ask for Full account numbers when you call in because accounts dont populate automatically without the account number. Also can be looked up with a simple phone number. You ARENT required to give the full number. Phone number works just fine. Anyone who thinks its a scam are people who are drowned in thousands of dollars of debt and refuse to own up to their debt. Lol plain and simple

You tell them youre ill and they note it in your acc. Also come up with payment plans and arragements for people who are needing that assistance. Cant run away from your debt, might as well make it right. Citi offers the help if you talk to them.

I received a call today. They are still at it!! Citi Card should do something about this. I know it is a scam, because I don't use my card. It has two auto payments on it monthly which are paid monthly. Don't know why collections would really call on a $0 balance due, LOL!! Of course when I wouldn't give them my card number (because I don't have it with me it is in a safe), they asked for my Social Security number - AS IF!!! Don't fall for this scam!

agents from citi client first asks for your credit card number to access your account, if you are not comfortable giving it, you can always give your phone number to locate your account, Yes, citi bank has all your information but it is against law to login to your account without your permission thats why they ask for verification.

next time please give your phone number to locate your information. it is not scam, you can call to customer service number and get more information about why they are calling

i am not sure who they are that gave you that information, but citi client first is a department in citi , if you still have questions next time when you call for citi ask if that department exists, yes it is, and they handle multiple accounts in one call

Same exact thing happened to me today

This is a legit call - at least for me. I called the Citi # on the back of my credit card and found out a small balance ($50) I had paid 2 weeks ago had somehow not gotten posted to their account. Glad they called me!

Caller stating to call Citi about account says this is not a sales call and to call 866-680-8628. Called Citi number on my card and was told I have no issues with account. Never been late never close to limit and no security issues. CALL IS A SCAM wa told to report number by CITI they have no connection to this number.

The number is not a scam. if you contact the number it would get you to Citi Collections Dept. for us to help you we will ask for you full account number full social security number or the phone number that on the account. When you call no account comes up automatically. yes Citi does service multiple accounts such as Home Depot, Macy's, Children s Place, Sears, Gas cards and Several Places.
If we are calling you its to inform you that you have missed a payment and we do use an auto dialer so sometimes the dialer will call you if it does not recognize a payment so therefore when you call back we will inform you nothing is wrong with your account and to disregard the call .

Called them back and they said it was Fidelity Investments. This was after they left 5 voicemails on my work line and said it was Citi Client First. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION!!!!!

have been getting calls when answer no response.  Finally they left message on answering machine to call 1-866-680-8628 but caller ID said call was from 816-420-4632.  So I played the fool & got machine that said enter account # followed by # key after not entering number two or three times someone answered saying I had a problem with a citi card.  I said you called me which card.  He said he needed birthdate to confirm who I was. No way which card has a problem...He finally said Best Buy & to call customer service on back of card.  At least he picked a card I had.  Didn't call but logged on to account and guess what no problem.................DON'T GIVE ANY COLD CALLS ANYTHING BUT YOUR NAME & phone # which they already have anyway

If you have an Iphone, go to recent calls and hit the blue circle on the right of this number, scroll down and block the number.  This is a scam to get your info, always be aware.  I get calls from all over the country and sometimes overseas.  I block them on the first call.  If it was legitimate you would have mail to support it or other people contacting you.  Check your credit report frequently!!!

Called the number they left on my voicemail.  Automated message wanted me to enter my card number.  I sat silent. Message kept repeating to enter my card number.  Finally after a few moments of silence the call was transferred to a live person named Nick.  Identified himself as Nick with Citi Bank Card Services and asked for my account number.  I sat silent.  After repeating himself I sat silent.  Repeated himself...silence from me.  He ended the call by stating he could not hear me and thanked me for calling Citi Bank Card Services and said if I needed further help to call the number on the back of my card.

I paid off my Citi Card months ago so I know I am not in collections.  It all seems odd to me.

They called me several times saying they are citibank and I returned call they got my ss# but couldn't find anything wrong but already had all.my info with account#

I see that this comment is from 2011.  Perhaps the statement made was correct in 2011, however at this time Citi Client First is in fact part of Citibank, so Mr. Tu Tone is incorrect.  Also, 866-680-8628 is a legitimate Citi Card number and if you are called and asked to call this number, you should probably do so.  I was getting daily calls and ignored them thinking it was a scam, but finally called the number on the back of my card to ask what the issue was since I am up to date on my Citi Cards and was told that I have a Home Depot account which is correct and it is past due.  I was unaware my Home Depot account is affiliated with Citibank so glad I made the call.

I believe this person is correct.  I just found out that my Home Depot account is past due.
