Just a note for anyone who reads this... The Federal government set up the Do Not Call list, but that was about as far as it went. I have never heard of a single incident where any person or company was ever fined for lying to anyone. It was a great idea, but it does not work. What does work is getting Caller ID and an Answering Machine that can block phone numbers. Once you have that, do not answer your phone. Let the Answering Machine be your Electronic Secretary and handle those calls. If a call is from someone you want to talk to, call them back after they hang up. I highly recommend allowing them to complete their message, as you can write down any key points of the message and then call them back. I **never** answer my phone unless I know who is calling and there is no need for for them to a message. Regardless of who is calling, never give anyone financial information.

These people call me at least 3 times a day.  They tell me to call 1-266-680-8628. which asks for credit card number and last 4 of social security.

I expect to communicate with Citibank by mail

I have received calls from this # 877-609-5724 telling me it is important to call back at 866-680-8628. Sounds like a fraud. They say they are from citiclientfirst??

Same here. Called real Citibank, this is fraud. Do NOT call it.

Dare to mislead me by saying they are Citibank. Unbelievable.

I got a message asking for a return call. I did not call the number that was left by them because I thought it might be a scam. I called Citi directly, checked my online account and found out that my credit card payment was 5 days late. Ooops!

They could not look up my account by name and never got the joke....asked for one of three things...account number, social security number, or phone number only....fraud / scam....

Got a message from 1-866-680-8628. Said they were Citi client first, associated with Citi bank. Ultimately,  this was probably a legitimate call! After realizing I had recently recieved a new Citi bank card and probably missed a payment (my other was on auto and definitely current), I chose to call the number on my card, instead of the Citi client #. I WAS 7 days past due and immediately paid and added this account to my other citi bank auto pay. All good and this SHOULD prevent more calls from the 866#.

This number has called me 10 times this month - even today.  I blocked it on Sept 6th.

Shill. Why look up and post about a number you know is good?
Based on the posts pending, this is a scam that some outfit finds worth protecting.

To Future Readers and Posters:
Be VERY careful about calls from this number. It is safer to call the number on the back of your card than give info to crooks.

This bs happens multiple times a day!  Why!!! Going to block this number!  The caller doesn't say anything and hangs up..
