Called twice in a day

I am going to refute your claim.  Yes, the number may be for Citi credit card accounts.  And no I am not drowning is debit like you so elegantly claim we all must be.  I called Citi back and inquired about why I was being called.  The CITI customer service rep I talked to found nothing on my file that would promote Citi to need to call me.  He asked if a reason was given for the call.  I responded that no message was left.  At that point the CITI rep. said the calls were most likely SPAM calls and to ignore them.  So, you may be correct is saying the number belongs to CITI, but to make the assumption we are all dead-beat debtor over our heads is a huge assumption you should not make.  People that wrote about this number did so because they followed up on the calls to try to correct what might have been wrong.  The people you want to claim are avoiding the calls because they are in debit over their heads probably are not commenting on any site about this number.   I understand there might be laws or company polices that do not allow detailed voice messages.  But when no message is given or if you do get a person and they seemly ask for your account information in a way that seems questionable, I do not blame anyone for being skeptical.    I do not blame anyone for thinking this is a scam or a spam call.  Just because you might work at Citi as a debit collector, you may think your explanation makes it "plain and simple".  With all the actual scams and spam calls out there, it's not so plain and simple.  Especially when an actual Citi card rep. tells me the call is most likely spam.  LOL, plain and simple, not so much when Citi Bank itself says it is a spam call.

Is likely the number is being spoofed by the scammers. See my post on pp3 of this thread. Calls from this number are NOT safe.

Keep getting calls from this number.  They never leave a vm msg.  The 1 time I answered they hung up.

Multiple calls from this number over the past few weeks, never leaves a message. I picked up about a week ago, female caller with heavy accent asked for my husband. I offered to take a message, she said she'd call back later. More multiple calls everyday, so today I answered. Again, female caller with heavy accent, this time asking for me. She claimed to be calling from Citibank about a past due balance on my Goodyear credit card. I don't have a Goodyear credit card. Told the caller "Bullsh*t, do not call me again" and immediately disconnected.
