when someone calls u from the 866-800-0234 number it is someone trying to talk to you from your local county jail. someone was helpful as my visa would not go through when they call you to see if you will accept call. like my tmobile would not accept the call. i was so bummed 'cause i miss my son so bad and every visiting day i have fri-sat or sun when i am not flying, his nasty girlfriend goes to visit. so, for all you moms who want your cell to receive calls, but company does not allow. just call GTL and set up, 800-483-8314. good luck! and may you unite quickly! make sure your kids sign up for drug and alcohol classes and show up on time. judges in the o.c. don't give a [***] if your kid is trying to make something of themselves!

How can I get them to stop calling this number.

I receieved a call from this number at 5:15 am CST and again at 5:30 am on June 6th, 2008.

I recieved a call from this number  866-800-0234  at 8am. its so wierd. Im going to cancell my phone or put another line.

ive gotten multiple calls from this # in the last 24 hours. wtf? has it stopped for anyone with out you doing anythin aobut it?

I know no one in jail or prison. Is that who would be calling ?

I got the number and it was my friend calling from the Lakewood Jail in Lakewood, Ca.

This [***] is pissing me the [***] off! This # has called me at least 20 times yesterday, so [***] annoying. Don't know how to discontinue this [***]. Any help? I definitely don't know anyone who is in that jail. I live in a different state than that county jail, which is my hometown and where my phone # is from. Total scam or someone has the wrong #!

I have received 4 calls in the last 2 days with someone calling me collect from this number.  I don't know who could be calling me.  It could be a wrong number but I have no way of knowing for sure.  I would just like to find out who it was.

This is a company phone and we do not accept collect calls from anyone. Someone has been calling for the last 2 days from this number for a total of over 60 calls and we want it to stop.

I got 5 calls from this number.  The recording states it is a call from the Nueces County Jail.

These calls from the 866 numbers are alarming.  My husband in jail for first time at 63, getting dementia, got confused and arrested. I waited on hold for 1 1/2 hours when this 866 number called,and was  Global Tel Link. Nothing happened no one ever came on line.  Globel Tel Link, do your job better.
I hung up, they called 6 more times same message, "an inmate is trying to reach you, you will be asked to put in your credit card so have it ready."    I think the county jail is not doing their job, or they would inform this company to have a more human and explanatory message. After all, there are lots of prison scams that have to do with collect calls, seen it in the news.  I would sure hope that  prison would be the first to stop it if was a scam, but doubt they do their jobs that well.  I would surely like to talk to my husband, but no way in the world would I support a company like Global Tel Link that cant do a better job, and frighten and confuse people.   I also think the county could do a better job, and attach a preface statement to the beginning of the recording.

I 've been receiving calls from this number from the last few days. The messages are in Spanish so I have no idea what they're saying.

Message on voice mail was a recorded message. Said it was a collect call from an inmate in Deschutes County Jail in central Oregon.

It is a scam! Block this number and they will call you from another. If you received a call from 3187461250 and blocked it then you will get called from another number and so on and so forth. If you enter a credit card number, debit card number or even accept the call then you are leaving yourself open for fraud, especially if you enter three digit CID code on your credit card. It is probably an organized criminal enterprize originating out of Jamaica, Nigeria or somewhere else SO BEWARE, do not become a victim.

Received several calls from 866-800-0234 Global Tel Link asking us to accept charges from an inmate at Deleware County Jail (Muncie, IN).  We don't know anyone who would be in jail in Muncie and even if we did, it would not be a long distance call from there to our number. Seems like someone is trying to gain access to personal financial info in a rip off attempt.  Beware!
