Received several calls from this number when I disconnected my Verizon Account and paid my final bill. When I answered they were automated messages similar to the others on here saying they were from “Verizon with an urgent update” and when I let them go to VM it was pretty much the same, then they said I owe a final bill for 407 dollars. I called the real Verizon on their actual number, and they confirmed I paid everything.
Yet somehow this 407 is now on my credit report in collections, I still have the saved VM’s from “them”, showing they were marked as a known scammer by my anti-spam software. Ridiculous….I am going to dispute and hope the real Verizon backs me on this BS.

Being marked means nothing. You say that a debt collector put this on your credit report yet you didn't mention which one. Why didn't you include that in your post?
