This is legit.  I got a call from this number and they left a voicemail.  Instead of calling it back, I got on Progressive's website and chatted with a customer service representative.  At first they didn't see anything on my account... but then, after reading this site, I mentioned that it may have to do with out of date DL's.  The representative looked at that and said that it was true: one person on my account had an old DL from a place we lived previously.  I used the website to update it.

The customer service representative did eventually confirm that this phone number _is_ a registered number for Progressive and they were likely calling about the out of date DL.

Even though this was legit... I still wouldn't recommend calling the number back.  Just get on their website or call them directly and work with a real customer service representative.  That way you are safe.

got a missed call first and then they called again claiming that it was Progressive and that they had my old license on file bla bla which could never have happened!! I looked up the number when he was on the phone and saw all these reports about them!! Def a spam!!! Ppl just to be on the safe side tell them you'd call the company yourself and ask about the issue!! never give any personal info!!!

This is a robocall from Progressive Insurance.  After today's 2nd call, I called Progressive at 800-776-4743 (the number on their website) and asked why I received the calls. Was told it was a payment reminder "since I had requested the calls."  (My payment is due in 2 weeks, for heaven's sake!) Told 'em I'd never made such a request. Was told I'd be taken off the call list right away.  One more call and I'll head over to Geico.

I chatted with progressive - it was legit - just wanting to update my drivers license. horrible way to contact customers - I told them too.

Are you working for this phisher then? Because it's not legit. So I am assuming you are in on it?As others have stated and what I found out today this is a scam. I got a call today with a strange voice mail that didn't make sense. I called progressive and they stated they dont use that phone number and that no calls were sent on record.

Called, claiming to be Progressive insurance. Wanted information about my son's driver's license. Didn't speak with them, but called Progressive and was told that would not call asking for information. They told me this is a scan.

This is a legitimate number from Progressive Insurance. They patiently gave me enough bona fide information to prove it wasn't a phishing call. As soon as I completed the call, I received email from Progressive stating my policy info had been updated with my current DL number.

I received several calls from this number also saying they were Progressive I called the Progressive #855-758-0630 and asked if this # was valid and he could not find it so I asked if he needed any info from me.  I just verified what they had in their file and all was good.  He put notes about this call in the file as well.  Hope this helps

What's truly scary is in this day & age anyone, anytime, anywhere would voluntarily would give out their DL #, contact info or even their DOB!!! from someone who called you? You must be crazy! ....No legit company would call for that info. Even if they email you, go separately to their official site, and never click a link unless you first requested it via password change, or updated yourself. Never, never NEVER give any info to anyone that calls YOU...call them back and first see if it's legit. Especially tutor your kids and parents again and again! Never talk or give out info...Never push #1 or  #2 to continue...NEVER!!!

I received a voicemail message on the third time they called. Being suspicious about the call, I logged into my account on progressive.com and there was no notification on my account that anything needed to be updated.  They have no trouble emailing me my bill. If it is legit then when didn't I receive an email.

My brother works for progressive and says that's not a number they use it's a scam

Progressive should stop these calls. If there's a need for information update, it can be done within the log-in account or by the customer calling the number listed in the insurance website.

Legit call, immediately after the call I received an email from progressive with a confirmation number of the call and a document stating that my license information was updated. That wasn’t enough proof for me so I logged into my customer account through progressive.com and there it was, a log of the call with the exact time and my updated drivers license information. Be causious out there with robocalls but this was a legit 3rd party calling on behalf of Progressive.

I have received multiple calls and only one subsequent message from this number. My message was exactly as the others stated above. What tipped me off it wasn't really Progressive was the fact they put my husband's name before mine even though the policy is in my name and he is just a named driver. And after reading about how they asked for people's license numbers claiming it was a different state than their policy shows me it's false since literally the day I got my new license in my new state I called them and gave them all the information they needed to move my policy.

it is definitely a SCAM!!!! it leaves me a voice message. it claims to be progressive and ask me to call back 866 840 4148  They even get my name on file and give me a code to retrieve my message!!! They really look real and professional !. I call progressive from my account to ask and verify those suspended numbers. Progressive said they don't have those two numbers in their systems. So if you received phone call from those two numbers, Please just block them!!! never call back!!! never give them your personal info!!!

Yup same as everyone else. Progressive Ins fraud! Called Progressive and they did nothing
