I tried to act like some agent, and I questioned the woman on the other side. She was scared. I can tell they told her to say nothing about the company she is tele-marking for. After about 4 minutes of me trying to get info, like the location where she is calling from or a call back #, she suddenly said <'Thank you very much", and hung up on me. The callers know its a scam. Even though its a legit offer its a rip off in the end. I found out that it is either Chase or Washing Mutual. Go complain. In the era of the internet any agency you will complain to is already over filled with complaints. I have a Samsung phone. I am able to block any number I want. It seems like the best way. Just block them.

I found a way to get back at them and if enough people do this, they will be totally screwed.  Call your bank or credit card company and request a new card with a different number - your account remains the same, only the number changes.  Once your current card is incative, accept their offer.  As soon as you recieve the gift card, use it.  They won't be able to charge your new card number unless you give them specific permission (IE, accepting the offer again under the new number).  I change my credit card number twice a year just to avoid id theft.  I've done it to them twice so far!  The called me yesterday and they wer PISSED!  I don't think they will call me again but if they do, I'm gonna screw them again!

these people called me at 8am. They asked if it was me (Amy) and when I said yes they said I won a $50 Walmart gift card. Then they confirmed my credit card number and I said "HUH??? OH NO, Im not going to get scammed again...." thats when they hung up on me. This happened to me a couple months ago. My other credit card was compromised and I had to get a new one. These people are THIEVES.

Ok, what's the current solution?  They're driving me nuts.  If they are truly telemarketers, wouldn't they want to wait for you to answer before they hang up???  The call disconnects as soon as I answer, so they aren't even trying to talk to me, they just want to call!!!

So I kept trying to call them back. well needless to say the same thing "busy". Well I finally Blocked that number from my phone... why bother.

They called me and said they were from Capitol One and because my account was in good standing I was going to get a couple gift cards, never mentioning for what store. I had to listen to a few recorded commercials which I was not obligated to purchase at that time. I just had to say OK at the end of each commercial. I listened to the first couple. One was MediLink. The second--I don't remember. I hung up.

The marketer was very pushy. Called me "Mr Byron" which is my first name.

I don't even think I have a Capitol One card  anymore.

I got a call from them saying that I was a platinum member, quoted the last 4 digits of an old card of mine, and said I'd won a $100 gift card and a $300 grocery card. The card had been deactivated about 4 months prior, so I decided to play along. They ran through my 'prizes' and said I'd get the money and three brochures in the mail soon. (how they got my new address is beyond me) Then I got transferred to a guy who was supposed to tell me about these three brochures, and in the recording before the transfer was complete said I would be asked a question at the end and had to answer with a 'Yes'. When I told the next guy that my card was deactivated, he hung up on me! Soo glad verizon has 5 free blocked calls :)

They called me and told me they were calling about my credit card ending in the (last four digits of my debit card).  FYI it was my card!! they wanted to get the rest of the card number to verify that it was the correct card and recited to me my "full name, address and telephone number"...This is scarey! When I ask them who they were again they said "Capital ??Something??" couldnt understand what they were saying and then I said and what does this have to do with my debit card and he hung up on me.  I have tried numerous times to call this number back, day and night.  They either hang up on me or its a continuous busy signal...I have changed my card and information pertaining to that card.
