call 1-800-892-0106 tell them you want to opt out.

I am not a customer (and I do not know why they call me). If you are a customer in default, opting out may not be enough.

Capital One, and yes I owe them, but I'm making payments.  My problems--why do they not leave a message, and why do they call my relatives more than once.  I can see if they're trying to reach me, but telling Capital One that I cant be reached at that number does no good..and they call from other numbers too.  What if my last name were Smith?  I'm sure Cap One would call all the smiths in my town looking for me, all of them would say I couldn't be reached at that number, but they wouldn't believe them and continue to call.  What kind of harrassment scam do they have going?  Calling from various numbers so the same number doesn't call you consistantly...not leaving a message so you don't know who the harrasser is.  Thank God for this website and all the posters!

An Aggressive female kept calling here demanding to speak to me.  Living in New York City, and quite used to scammers on the phone unfortunately, I keep saying it's not me, yet a relative instead answering the phone.  Having had this up to my neck, I called Capital One's 800 number from the Internet, and was put through to some other part of the world, and as best I can ascertain, this is some form of marketing their credit cards to new individuals.  After being very blunt, and aggressive as New Yorkers are known for being, she said they would take my name off the auto dial list, as they're looking for someone else and it wasn't me.
It leads me to believe that this is some sort of telemarketing scam, because the first thing that the supervisor asked me for after the initial operator transferred me, was for my social security number.  I'm street saavy enough to know not to give that information out.  Upon threats of going to various government agencies as well as the news media, I was told my number would be removed from the dial list.  It was supposedly looking for someone else not me.  This seems rather strange as they seem to have my name.  As I used to receive a great deal of mailings from them which have simmered down.
I'm led to one conclusion, this is their way of making new business happen.  If this is what their company has generated into or should I say degenerated into, and their company needs to be shut down and sent on its way.

try 'Best Blacklist'  15 day trial period.  Just Google 'Best blacklist and download to your computer then to phone.  Absolutely wonderful.  There is a version from Russia ('Blacklist' with 1 day trial period) that is not quite as good as 'Best Blacklist' check out both Blacklist and Best Blacklist for your self.

Blacklist is a service for automatic calls reject depending on your rules. The rules are very easy to set up - just add contacts, contact groups or custom phone numbers to the list. You are at the meeting and can't accept calls at the moment or you want to block someone from calling you permanently - try Blacklist, it offers you an easy solution.

Blacklist Scheduler makes your phone a completely automated personal secretary. It can reject everyone except family members at night, accept only co-workers at business hours on working days, etc.

The service will do all job using really small amount of memory, system resources and absolutely transparent to user. Just configure and turn it on one time and you can forget about it and forget about all unwanted callers as well.

    Features include:

    •Easy to understand and configure.
    •Real-time incoming number analysis.
•Reject before your phone starts ringing and disturbs you.
•Sms notifier that can send sms to rejected person if needed in order to explain your reject reason.
•Scheduler that can automatically switch rules based on time.
    •Rejected calls log.
•Service based application - works in background and absolutely transparent to user

    Seriously Annoyed
The best way to get rid of the foreigners and [***] is to refuse to talk with them.  Whenever they call or you need to call them DEMAND to speak with an American and don't give in.  99.99% of these bozos are reading from a script and are just dumb as a box of rocks.  It's your money and there is no reason why you shouldn't get what you ask for.

I get these calls also and have talked to someone to get my # off the list because its not me that they are looking for. They took me off and the very next day they called again, so this will never go away.Just put my # on the "no call list" again, but I'm sure that wont work either.----Reading some of these posts, is there a blacklist software for home phones? and also has anybody ever tried these "Stop Collector Harassment" advertisement from these same page? wondering if its true that they will make them pay and charge the people that are causing the Harassment.

By federal law they must remove your phone number from their call list if you ask them to do so, or they may face a fine up to $16,000.  They have up to 31 days to remove your number, if they are still contacting you after those days are up, you may report them to the FTC.

google bud hibbs to learn what letter to send these creeps, so that they will STOP calling you.  Untill I did this, sent letter telling them that I disputed their claims in their entirety, that I recquired of them to send written proofs of my "contract" w/ them including evidence of my signature.  Son't allow these corporate bloodsuckers to ruin your peace of mind .  This # is bad people-Cap one corporate welfare criminals, in my opinion.

Its a scam I researched their numbers no such numbers belong to capital one? I am tired of these damn scam artists bugging people. They should be arrested for harrasment. If they are really capital one why not show it why the need to hide. Real finance and collection agencies don't hide who they are. Don't fall for this phishing scam.

received a call from this number saying they are capital one. I don't have an accout with them. I called back to see how they got my number. I encountered the rudest person I have ever talked to in my life. Capitol 1 should be ashamed of this company they use. They have ensured I will never be a customer of their's. Sound's like this happens alot.
