- BarbaraI just received a message from "Client Services" asking for someone (not me) on my landline. When I told them there was no one here by that name, they demanded to know my name. I again stated that I'm the only one living here, and they still demanded to know my name. I asked for their number and Donna was hesitant to give it to me. She finally gave it (8772880504) and I hung up. She then called my cell phone number! I told her if she did not stop harassing me I would contact the police. She said she had a reason for calling me and asked me to hang on a moment, and put me on hold. I hung up. Is there someone I can contact to stop this "fishing expedition"?

- RuthGot a call on my phone voice mail that they are looking for location information for my ex sister in-law and for me to call back ASAP at 1-877-288-0504, ext 58031. I've been divorced for 10 years and rarely even talk to my ex sister inlaw but when I run into her on occasion, so I have no idea how or why they are calling me. My divorce was nasty and there is NO WAY I'm getting involved in any of this.
- mike smith replies to DrStanYou're an idiot. It's not illegal to call and collect on an account past SOL, all stat of limitations meaning is they have x number of years to sue you for the debt not to collect it through other means.
- krystle replies to tired of it| 1 replythey are a 3RD PARTY COLLECTION AGENCY. They can call your mom, dad, sister, cousin, neighbor, co-worker, whoever, if it means getting in touch with you. Just answer the damn phone and make an effort on paying your bills! They WILL work with you!!! I worked there, I would know. Geez.
- OMG replies to MarylanderSomeone stopped by my husbands place of employment and left a name & phone # for me to call them back. Not sure what they told the people at the front desk.
- kotlolly[***]! Caught them on my voice machine laughing & talking to each other about haarrssing me on Christmas!

- Dave E, esq. replies to sunshine| 1 replySunshine, aside from being really ignorant (I'm an attorney), you are mean-spirited. First: WE HAVE LAWS IN THIS COUNTRY--that's what makes us so great. The fact that somebody owes you money doesn't mean you can take whatever steps you want to collect it. In the great majority of cases one can sue or get fines ($1,000 is standard) levied for even one call to a neighbor, work colleague or boss. Of course, there ARE legal ways to get money owed to you, and, sometimes, to recover the costs involved in that.
Second--I have very rarely met anyone who set out to incur debts and not pay them. I really hope you do not suffer the trauma of job loss (sometimes very sudden), or devastating illness not covered by insurance--these can wreak havoc with even the most responsible people. You clearly aren't aware of how painful it is when people want to meet their obligations, but simply can't--they are counting their pennies so they can put dinner on the table for their children, and are in enough pain and anguish without being harassed by collectors who are exploiting a terrible situation.
Third--I'm no economist, but your economic views are completely backwards: a bad economy make it more likely that people will be unable to meet their obligations. When our economy was good (until about 2007-8), we didn't have much of a debt collection problem It has exploded after Wall Streeters with thei rmortgage fraud and two-faced hedge fund positions brought down the economy. Where have you been for the past five years? And maybe stop using "low-information" Rush Limbaugh, and his friends as your source of information - peace, love, harmony(former employee) replies to Dave E, esq. There are legal ways to call a relative or place of employment in every State..."Not that Client Services is the Best place to work" *But they do abide by the laws*...And believe me when i say a Collector knows just as well as anyone in the United States that right now it's HARD times, (Financially)...I mean Hello do you really think they just want to REALLY SIT THERE & CALL PEOPLE ALL DAY?...And get cussed out, hung up on! The one thing i know about Client Services Inc. is that if your actually willing to listen and pay off your debts they will work with you!! However unfortunately because of the STATE LAWS: THEY ARE REQUIRED TO GO THROUGH VERIFICATION so that they don't DISCLOSE any INFO to the wrong person! and its not HARASSMENT to call someones phone. All you have to do is answer LET them know your situation and try and work something out!(even if its small payments til You and the Rest of the WORLD gets BACK ON THERE FEET!) Oh and it will Help out the Economy "I mean your paying money back into the economy" Don't get me wrong i agree with you on how the economy was brought down!..(but there not going to fix it!) P.S. I cant believe that you or anyone else in this World would wish or even speak it into the air "I really hope you do not suffer the trauma of job loss or devastating illness not covered by ins"Come on Now;(THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE WORLD TODAY!! I know it doesn't seem like a Collector is trying to help but when i was a Collector I DID TRY TO HELP & LISTEN(it was a job,we all have to Do our Jobs) Because i know how it feels to be Unemployed/To have your Mortgage make you file Bankruptcy(when they got $ to bail us out of this Recession & Didn't!) WE ALL SHOULD BE STICKING TOGETHER AND HELPING EACH OTHER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! (who else besides Us & God is gonna do it) "B/C w/Out The People (all of us) there is No World!" ***Make Peace Not War***
- Ellen replies to sunshineYou can press charges if they do not follow the law. Guess what, some of these unpaid debts HAVE been paid. Debts are sold from company to company and individuals may be threatened if thwy don't pay over the phone. They pay only to have calls continue from some new company. People have paid the same debt several times. There are laws that protect peole from protection from unscrupulous debt collectors.

I can take a message for him." He said, "This is Client Services at 877-288-0504." "And what is your name again, please?" "Eric Shermer(sp?)." "And what case number or account number is this for?" - TH replies to CPThe SAME guy - Carlo Marconi - just called me asking for my Dad and said that he had personal business matter that he wrote to my dad about. I insisted that he told me what this was in regard to and he insisted that he couldn't tell me due to the personal privacy act. He asked me to verify the address and and my relation to the person of interest - I told him that I didn't see how that was relevant if he couldn't tell me what he was calling about. He got mad, and told me to pass along the message and hung up. He was very rude.
