- WM| 6 repliesThese people, a debt collection agency, have been wrongly harassing me for weeks. I have told them that I am not the person they seek on multiple occasions and the calls keep coming in. I have begged them and pleaded with them to take my number off of their rotation but it has not been done. I searched the internet for the phone number to their corporate headquarters and it isn't available anyplace. Today, after the 20th call from these idiots, I filed a formal complaint with the FCC. If this harassment continues, I am going to sue Carson Smithfield LLC in Woodbury New York for their violations. I have already started gathering evidence including dated caller ID photos and all records of my correspondences to them by mail, along with my complaint to the FCC.

- Ronnie PThey hang up when i answer the phone. Am getting tired of stupid phone calls like this. Identify yourself and state your business. Do not call and hang up or give me a first name, or name that really tells me nothing. I don't even know if you are who you say you are, I may never have heard of you, you are the one calling me, with my phone number so you already know more about me than I do
- Caller: Carson Smithfield LLC
- Sherry| 1 replyOk here is what I do if they don't stop calling, I start calling them one after another for about 30 min and then they will finally stop calling you, I've done it to those India people who calls you and threatens you and they don't call me back anymore even had one of the guys ask me "What do you want" and I told him how does it feel to keep getting the same calls all day long. so he told me that they wouldn't call me anymore if I didn't call them anymore and it worked haven't heard anything from them anymore.

- Paprika| 4 repliesI get a call about once a week from these scum-suckers and it's promptly blocked. Judging from the letters I've also received from them, this is in regards to an OLD credit card account that is so far out of the statute of limitations, it's laughable and not even worth the postage to send them a letter asking for validation. I'm not disputing that I owe it, but I'm in no financial position to FIX it. f I had the ability to pay, I would have paid it LONG ago.

- kd-annoyedThis is Carson Smithfield, a so-called collection company. They kept calling me until I answered. They claim I owed for a creditcard. Well, I told them i didn't have a clue what they were talking about. I told them to send me a letter and I would respond to it, since that is the law, you must respond IN WRITING if you deny a debt. The B*&^H, I talked to would not listen to me. She kept talking over me. Called me every name under the sun. I told her if she called back again before I got a letter in the mail, I would get them for harrassment. She told me to F myself and hung up. I just started getting calls again, so I have contacted the BBB and my state's attorney general.

- KD-annoyed replies to Paprika| 2 repliesWhether you can pay or not, you do not have to pay a collection agency or make any arrangements with them. It does not matter how many years it has been since your debt, you can still pay that company. Most collection agencies try to add interest or a fee to the original debt, but that is illegal. Also check with your state because if the debt over the statute of limitations, no one can collect that debt and it must be removed from your credit report as well.
- Annoyed, but not too much replies to KD-annoyedUmm, Advanta is out of business and Deutsche Bank's trusts are not set up to talk to or take payments directly from anybody. You have to talk to Carson Smithfield if you want to get anywhere. But there's no real reason to want to get anywhere, so just forget 'em.
- Annoyed, but not too much| 5 repliesHey, they called me again after a long layoff. But I was ready for them and I refused to confirm or deny anything and I basically just blew them off like I've been doing for years. I got this book on Amazon called "Debt Hope: Down and Dirty Survival Strategies" and it basically lays it all out in terms of how to tell whether you're dealing with a dangerous collector or a toothless one, and how to know whether your old debt is inside or outside the statute of limitations time period that gives you a solid defense once it has expired. I'm not sweating a thing.

- collector replies to Annoyed, but not too much| 3 repliesYou still owe the bill and no matter what kind of "tricks" you want to use, you owe it, pay it. It won't just go away. You PAID MONEY to get a book on how to handle debt collectors? You can get that for free at ftc.gov
- wn replies to KD-annoyedYour bill is still due, pay it instead of skipping out on your creditors.
