Federal Recoveries I have gotten several messages from your company.  I have requested that your company stop calling me.  In addition, I would like the correct name of your company, mailing address, and direct telephone number to deal with this directly, as I am sure many people on this website will want the same.

    Thank you.

Got a call today from "Ray" at 209-390-9777, who told me that he was NOT calling from a debt collection agency, which is apparently is a lie. He is looking for my mother-in-law, not for me....I have no debt. I asked him to take me off his list and he insisted that he was not a debt collection agent and that my mother-in-law was about to be prosecuted for bank fraud. Made it seem as if he was with the federal government. His number is 877-400-0286, ext. #307

    How can this be legal?

Take me OFF YOUR LIST...I have no debt and I am not responsible for members of my extended family. This is harassment and I will file a complaint if I am called again.

they arent a fraud ... this company just helped me out with my acct with Cashnet and saved me 500.00 and they also helped me out with these other people who were fraudelently calling me and helped me file an attorney general complaint ... the woman I spoke with there spent 5 hours of her time helping me straighten out these calls from these Foreign people claiming to call from the "department of law and investigation" the caller id nmr for them is 4017190153 and 2064456569 //// maybe if you people would take care of your responsibilities and stop hiding from them you wouldnt be so mad at them ....

I got a call from this co, saying they are prusueing me due to NSF for a payday loan, they wanted $600.00 from me, and if I don't pay I could go to jail for up too 3years. I have been and am still working with a debt manangement co who is working with my payday loans. Mr Brandi had me in tears and I had to leave work due this phone call. Something needs to be done about this. I am a single mom struggling to pay my rent, and buy food for me and my child, I don't need these people calling me and threating me.

Brenda, from my understanding it is illegal for any debt collection company to threaten or harass you about a debt. They are unable to use threats of violence or harm, use obscene language. They are also unable to falsely imply they are attorneys or government reps, falsely imply that you committed a crime, indicate the papers are being sent to you are legal when they are not. They may not also state that you will be arrested if you do not pay a debt, they will seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property, state that a lawsuit will be taken against you.

You should also verify that they are licensed to collect in your state which most companies are not authorized. Also before paying anything request written documents by mail with the correct name and address of the company.

Anytime a "debt collector" says you can be put in jail, that is a red flag that they are a fraud.  No person that owes money will be tried for criminal charges and put in jail.  It's all a civil matter, AND once they contact you it's law that they have 5 days to send you a Dunning Letter.
Don't give them any information if they refuse to tell you:
    A)Who the original creditor is
    B)The original amount
C)Their address so you can send them a debt verification letter.

For all of you, there is an awesome sight I learned all this from www.debtconsolodationcare.com  I am no longer afraid of answering my phone.

How does it make sense that if you take out a loan, put down a reference, fail to pay the loan it gets kicked over to the reference?
I'll take out a whole crap load of loans then and put YOU as my reference...

To me I felt lied to and said that they were part of the government and can process all kinds of type of paperwork. I had to pay my rent money for this bill because I thought it was the government. is this legal to represent yourself as the government?

These people call all times and all hours. They are rude, and I do not know how to handle this situation. They ask people uninvolved personal business, I know they are trying to collect a debt, but the person they are chasing, is disabled, and can not even pay attention. No excuse, but you can't get what ones does not have, stupid!

I have received a "Verification of Employment" from a William Moses at Federal Recoveries.  He sent it to my payroll officer and she gave it to me saying this is personal information that my employer will not give out.  I don't listen to messages anymore.  I have yet to receive anything in the mail verifying what they say.  Until I know for certain I actually owe someone some money, I won't send a thing, but I will report them for trying to get my employer to give them personal information.

Oh and they listed their phone number as 716-408-9072.  However at the top of the page was the usual 800-400-0286.

Message at my work from a Jackie Hackner from 877-400-0286.  She told them she needed to hear from me or my lawyer.  I would say that is a veiled threat. FTC complaint in process.

My 12 year old got a call on his line. The caller left a message trying to act like an attorney saying they were going to file or process some papers or document. The caller said to call Mr. X or Mr. Y about some case number, and left a different number to call back. Called the number that placed the call gave them the number they dialed, asked them if I could help them. Said they called the wrong number and would take this number of their list.

For at least the past 2 years companies keep calling this line, and leaving messages. This has gone on much too long now. These are some kind of Zombie or Savenger Debt Collectors, they have no idea who's number they are calling and don't bother to check before they call. They all say they are calling for Ivan SheXXXX, about a debt. I have no idea who this person is, or anything about this person. I have kindly asked these collectors not to call this number any more. This seems to do no good, I didn't know if the are expecting me to conduct an investigate to locate this person or what they are thinking. There are anywhere from to 2-3 messages a day or at least 2-3 messages a week.

Keep getting a call from "raymond owens", has called me numerous times in a week.  The first call was to my job. He called one of the supervisors that i dont even report to.  I called back, he basically threatened to send me to jail if i didn't pay before October (it was September 29th).the number that i called him on was 877-400-0286 ex 307, later on that evening i came home and they were on the phone with my husband demanding my ssn, they also called a friend of mines and threatened her to give me a message, she hung up on them and they called her right back.  I called, told them not to contact anyone i know since they know how to get in contact with me.  Ray Owens has threatened to have me put in jail, to call my boss, you name it he's done it.  I asked for something in writing, they wont send that, said that since cashnet is an online company they only do email, well i still haven't gotten an email.  Ray called me one morning while i was driving on my way to work, I informed him that in the state of MD the hands free laws and that i didn't have a blue tooth, he basically laughed at me like i was lying and kept talking, i had to hang up on him.  He is also calling me from different numbers, like he's called me from a NY,AZ,and TX number but of course gives me the 877 number to call back, today he even called me from a local MD number, how do they do that?  I guess I need to file a complaint with the FTC and also the people who are on here praising the company work for them period.

Hate to tell you this but they are a scam. I paid them as well and feel so stupid. Check them out on the BBB website. Last time they called me I asked for their address so I could mail a payment. I was put on hold over and over again. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION! Tell them to send you via first class mail documentation of the debt. Ask for their information!
