- same thingI got a call from 314-227-0720 they claimed I owed them money from a loan I took out some time ago I did take the loan but I recently filed bankruptcy.
I talked to someone and they claimed that the reason they call was because of me writing a bad check because when cashnetusa came to get the money I did have it in the account.
I told them I filed bankruptcy on this they told me to contact my lawyer to see if he filed on the bad check. Because of what I read here, I asked for their address and surely they gave me 3842 Harlem Rd #235 Cheektowaga, NY 14215 I checked this address the only thing I got was the UPS store. I talked to the guy there and he said that the mall where they lease at does not even have suite numbers like 235 that they are likely to be hundred something and also when they called me from this number 314-227-0720 which is a Missouri number they told me to call this number
877-338-2151 ext. 317 and they claimed to be in New York where are they really. Be safe- Caller: 314-227-0720

- DownBtmShawdy| 1 replyLast night I got a call from a very distant relative, asking me why I gave him name and number as my "attorney of record" or "attorney on file" something crazy like that. Apparently a Mr. Todd Cummings wanted to speak with me or my attorney of record.... My relative lives in different state than I, he's elderly and taking care of a older family member. I have never used my families info on anything. I've never hear of Federal Recoveries.. and from reading this blog (thank you to all who commented) I'm not sure this place is real. I mean they never called me.. How did they locate my family?
I am considering filing a complaint.- Caller: Federal Recoveries

- Mertdawg replies to JESSEYou got scammed. They can never threaten you with jail time or prosecution for a payday loan. You should sue them.
- MertdawgThese people are committing many felonies. They can never threaten you with prosecution for any matter. Debt collectors are not police. Also, payday loans fall under a special category. They can never turn them into the District Attorney's office for prosecution. If they threaten to do that, then they are breaking a Federal Law which they can face jail time for.
If they threaten you in any way, consider that a terriost threat. If they say "see you in court" and they never do, you can counter-sue them.

- kyladyI received a phone call from a very rude man today from an unknown number. He said he was serving me papers today for a bounced check, I told him that I don't have a checking account and haven't had one in years. He asked if I wanted to take care of it right there to stop the matter ( that put a red flag up since I 1. don't have a checking account 2. I heard about how people can get your info over your cell phones.) So I hung up on him. He called back and left a nasty voice message saying how he is going to serve me papers at my place of employment or home and wished me luck. Later on tonight I received a call from my sister in California and she said that she had a message from some rude man on her answering machine for her husband (my brother in-law) looking for me about this same bloody thing and said this same thing. Now how in the heck did he find my family back home and how in the heck did he think he would get in touch with my brother in-law? He left this phone number with a case number and saying that they are going to serve me papers for a bounced check. How can this get stopped before it gets any further?
- Aloha ArtReceived a call telling me I better call back right away. I hung up before the recording finished.

- Michael PetersenI got a call today from this number that referenced my mother. I called the back with the case number that they left, asked them what was the nature of this call. The person I talked to said they couldn't tell me because I was not my mother. My mother called them and she said that she was named in a civil lawsuit and gave them permission to talk to me. They would not say what is lawsuit was about nor would they give me their address so my lawyer could contact them. This number has called 3 times this month and it's getting old. I have filed my complaint with the FTC. If this keeps up with all of us,maybe we should bombard their phone system.

Federal Recoveries,LLC
"At the request of the Federal Trade Commission, a U.S. district court halted a debt collection operation that the agency charged with violating the Federal Trade Commission Act and the Fair Debt Collection Act by misrepresenting that they were with the government, falsely accusing consumers of committing check fraud, and then threatening consumers with arrest."
I'm sorry, were you saying something? Stop stealing people's money. Every one of you at that company is a waste of carbon.
