- CassW| 1 replyI called USAA (1-800-531-8722) about this number, they said that it's not their number and that it's someone that's CLAIMING to be USAA. They said to NOT give your info to this number, they are scamming you!
- Caller: Fraudulent company
- FireflightSame here. This is somebody pretending to be USAA. I verified with USAA and this is not their doing.

- Cagey215| 5 repliesThis is NOT USAA nor an affiliate. I received a call form that number and some guy said he was with USAA mortgage services and he asked if I could hold on the line while he connected me to a specialist. Already seeing this as fraud, I asked the guy what department he was in. He said some incoherent department name and re-iterated that there was a problem with my mortgage and he needed to connect me to a specialist. I told him no and that I would call USAA myself. When I called USAA they said there is no issue with my mortgage and that there was no record of someone trying to call me. I did further research online and found out that number (877-627-2811) attempts to steal your identity by claiming to be with USAA life insurance, vehicle insurance or mortgage services. I called USAA and reported this to the fraud department. USAA said they will issue a member alert informing people to not answer calls from that number.
- Caller: Fraud Company
- GrrrrFrequent calls from this number, left a message one time about an investment choice I didn't make. Thanks Cagey215 for following up with USAA on this.

- Diogenes replies to Keith| 4 repliesNot so fast.... after reading the above posts I got kind of spooked about the call to refinance my VA mortgage previously held with USAA. They had ALL my information already. I just got off the phone with USAA central and the say this IS them, they ARE using a third party to make the initial calls, and the re-fi offer IS legit.
- Bandit12I received a call earlier today from 877-627-2811 and they left a message saying that I showed interest in a financial adviser and they were following up on that and to call them back. Instead I called USAA and asked them about the call. I gave the representative the phone number and she looked and confirmed that this number is not affiliated with USAA and not to talk to them. I just received another phone call with no message left this time.
I have never known USAA to cold call its customers like this and I highly doubt that they would allow this. I never requested anyone contact me about an adviser. Better to ignore it and talk to USAA directly than get screwed for trusting a random phone number.- Call type: Telemarketer
- PerturbanceIn late May, 2013 I used some free financial tools/planning tools from USAA's web site. That was apparently the trigger for them to start calling me from the 877-627-2811 number. The voicemail they leave indicates it's for Life Insurance.
Since the call goes to my cell phone, I've added their contact information and linked it to a silent ringtone. This allows them to leave a message, but I won't be alerted when they call.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Livid877-627-2811 are definitely scammers or identity thieves. They called my cell phone & left a message for my husband saying "they noticed that he had been logging into his USAA.com account about our mortgage. They hoped he had found all the information he needed on the USAA.com account. This is a flat out lie. The call went to voice mail since I was on the phone with USAA when this call came in. I don't get 800, 855, 877 or 888 telephone calls on my cell phone. I called the number and they told me they same thing. I hung up on him and immediately called USAA the representative said that this telephone number was not in their directory & she had googled the telephone number and seen all the posts. They sent me to the FRAUD DEPT. I have called and had a deputy come out to my home and filed a report against these "THUGS". Don't give these people any of your information better yet if you see this number show up on your caller ID don't answer your phone. REPORT IT TO USAA IMMEDIATELY!!!! I DON'T CARE ABOUT A COUPLE OF POST THAT THIS IS USAA IT IS NOT!!!! Since I've been documenting this post USAA has called me again and said NO it is not anybody from USAA. My intentions are to call the Attorney General Office for my State and file a report with that office. DON'T BE DUPED BY THIS COMPANY!!!
- Caller: Scammers
- yma1970Same, called stated they are USAA regarding my life insurance, glad I found this site, i said you ARE usaa? he himmed and hawed and finally said NO.

- Holla replies to DiogenesU r a liar. This is not a usaa number, ask their fraud department.
- MikeThey called and left a message saying they were USAA Investments. My wife called and no one from USAA or anyone they are affiliated with were trying to reach us. They called a second time and my wife returned the call. They did answer the phone USAA Investments. They connected her to a guy who read his script. My wife told him she had contacted the co he was NOT from USAA. He said he was associated with USAA. She told him if she was called again she would contact the state attorney general. He put us on no call list. We will see what happens.
- Mis replies to Diogenes| 1 replyI just got the call and let them leave a msg..wanting to refinance my va mortgage...i called USAA and they said no, it was not them and i talked to the mortgage dept too and they said the same thing. They said they do call and refinance but its always goes from their phone #800-531-2265. I even told them about this post saying they were using third party numbers and that USAA said it was legit but the manager got on the line and confirmed the number was a fraud. They said just be safe and get their id# hang up and call usaa back directly.
- Jenn replies to MisI got the same phone call twice today. Called USAA and they have no record of anyone trying to call. Also said our mortgage rates are lower on our loan than what they could offer at this time. So they didnt know why some one would be calling to refinance.
- Bernie| 2 repliesThey called me tonight on both my home and company issued cell claiming to be USAA federal savings bank with a new and exciting offer for my VA loan, I could tell just how the message was read from a script that it was NOT USAA. I called USAA 1-800-531-8722 to report it and inquire if they have had a data breach as my work cell phone number is given to very few commercial companies (USAA & one other).
USAA always shows up on caller ID as USAA...this number 1-877-627-2811 shows up as unknown. Don't fall for their fraud!!!- Caller: Fraudulent Telemarketer

- Military Officer| 2 repliesI recently refinanced my RV loan through USAA. This number called my home and cell. When I called it, a man (Sean) said he needed a few more details to close my loan and that he worked as a subsidiary of USAA/Wells Fargo Bank. He asked me for my address which seemed odd since USAA always has that info. I gave him just the street address and he said he was going to transfer me to an agent. The call felt creepy so I hung up and called USAA. USAA said there was nothing wrong with my account. I gave USAA the number and they called it while I waited on the phone. TOTAL FRAUD! USAA informed me that this is fake. I filed a fraud alert with them. They knew my name, rank, home and cell phone and knew that I recently applied for a new loan through USAA (4 days ago). Either USAA has been hacked or someone there in USAA is feeding this to someone.

- Jennifer in GA replies to Bernie| 1 replyI too got a call this evening about refinancing my VA loan. The message said they were from USAA and they called both of my phone numbers. USAA and only one other bank has my 'other' number. I'm worried about a security breach of my PII. The call DID come shortly after I had submitted a complaint via the USAA website about the customer service issues I was having with the company they handed my USAA mortgage off to. It seems as though they're connected in some way, but legitimately connected remains to be seen.
