Called my husband's phone  saying they name was mrs. Davis and  I needed to come into office didn't sound right so I googled it ......glad I did!

Just got a call from this number saying I had an issue with the city of Davenport and had to call them back to take care of this.

Said I had an automated traffic violation in Iowa.  I have NEVER even been to IOWA.  Has to be a SCAM and will not return the call at all.

A call from 877 751-7115 from MCOA (Municipal Collectors of America) that I have an outstanding speeding enforcement system citation from Forest Heights, MD.  Called this number today and got only a recording asking to leave my information and someone will return my call.  These people obviously have too much time on their hands - I really feel bad for the elderly who may think this is real.

This is ALWAYS a scam. If you violate traffic laws and are caught on camera, you will get a ticket in the mail from the municipality of the violation. They will get your address from your license plate. You will never get a call from a generic bill collector. Never ever return these calls. You may want to report the call to your local police department. This particular call came in from 708-455-4046, which is a number for the same type of scam.

Received call on July 20 stating I have an overdue moving violation in Iowa and to call 877-751-7115 between 9 am and 5:30

Well who do you report them to?

Got a message about an "automated traffic violation in Iowa", and was asked to call this number. Have never been to Iowa... Glad I realized its a scam.

Received two messages from a Teresa Lopez at our home for our daughter (who hasn't loved with us in several years) asking her to call 877-751-7115 immediately regarding an important business matter. I Googled the number and found this was a scam.

I've been getting recorded messages on my answering machine from MCOS calling about an automated driving violation.  I finally called them back and someone named Fred answered.  He was actually very polite, said they were looking for someone named xxxxxxxx.  I said she didn't live here (her family used to live in our house) and he said he'd take our number off the list.  It wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be.

they said I had a violation somewhere in Iowa and to call immediately.

Have been getting calls for 5 months for unpaid Iowa tickets from MCOA. I tried calling once and the message was the number was disconnected. Someone needs to take legal action as senior citizens are prone to fall for this.

Go to the City ofDavenport's website. They have a whole page explaining that MCOA handles their delinquent accounts. I had contacted Davenport PD to report this alleged scam and the Sgt. Sent me a link explaining who they were.

These people left a message about an unpaid parking ticket in South Carolina (we live in CA). When I called back they asked for my sister-in-law. I don't know how they got our unlisted number for her, but the whole thing sounds fishy. Since when does a city call about tickets? I believe it's a scam. Don't give them your credit card # over the phone!

I received a call about a parking ticket from my location that I have not visited. I do not even live in that state. This seems to be a fraudulent call

Got a call from 877-751-7115 about a Folly Beach ticket.  When I searched, I found a press release from the Folly Beach Clerk of Court explaining that Municipal Collections of America actually works for the city. After seeing posts on this site, I searched Forest Hts and found the same. Same for Davenport Ia. Fortunately for me, my call was a wrong number. But, I have to wonder why you people who are smart enough to use the Internet to find this site can't seem to find the city webpages that tell you who this is and why they may be calling.

I was contacted about a Folly Beach, SC ticket by "Jennifer".  I called her out as a scam because I have always paid my tickets.  I went to the Folly Beach city council meeting to address my concerns of this fraud to the community.  Before public comments, the Clerk of Courts made a presentation about the city's success in cracking down on "scofflaws"  Needless to say, I was not about to make my presentation and identify myself as a scofflaw.  Here is a link to the press coverage of the meeting:

If you are getting a call, you may need to find out why.  In my case, my grandson apparently lost the ticket he got while driving my car to the beach..

I did not call thins number back, and from what I've read here, It's good that I didn't.

I received a call from this number, the vm stating that it was Carrie Wilson from MCOA calling regarding a "Business Letter" in her office and that she needed a call by the end of the day.  I looked it up and it appears to be a collection agency. I will not be calling it back. It is a scam.  I seem to me Carrie has called me before and I called it back thinking it was and appointment and it was a business that I had never had any dealings with that wanted me to buy something from them. Can anyone reprimand these harassers?
