Recived the call 10 min. ago. Took it but the call was ended immediately. didn't call back. Googled the number when i couldn't find the country code. found this bolg. Guess it's an empidemic..! Downloaded an excel of my current usage (my provider 3 allows this). Weird [***] this...

Har nu været nede i en TDC-butik, hvor de anbefalede at vi udskiftede SIM-kortet til 99 kr. - Så penge har det da kostet, for at være "sikre" på ikke at selve telefonen bliver udnyttet - nu mangler vi så bare at se regningen!

Har nu skrevet en klage til TDC over deres manglende evner i tekniske løsninger m.m. og afventer svar (der kan vist gå op til 6 dage...) - Skal nok vende tilbage med deres svar...

Samtidig kontaktede jeg Forbrugerstyrelsen, som anbefalede at jeg kontaktede Teleankenævnet på mandag, og skrev en mail til TDC.

Missed call at 11:21 a.m.in germany (provider is orange-ch). Didn´t pic it up. Can´t understand that a provider doesn´t know somthing about this strange number.

I rejected the call (on my phone in Switzerland). Considering this page i will not call back ...

While travelling in Russia, got a call on my swiss phone at 13h36 Geneva time. Answered but didn't call back too. Did the same than you, googled the number...

Har selv modtaget er opkald kl. 10.02 d. 15.8.2008, ringede til TDC og talte med en herre ved navn Niels Kolding som siger at INGEN kan misbruge/overtage dit mobilnummer uden simkortet, det eneste der kan ske er at hvis man ringer tilbage til nummeret så bliver det højest sansynligt til en meget høj takst, så deres råd er. "LAD VÆR MED AT RINGE TILBAGE, SÅ SKER DER INGEN TING"

I got a call from this weird phone number at 13h36 Geneva time (like user EB here below, strange!) I took it but they hang up immediately.
Anyway thanks to my lovely lady's advice I did not call them back.

I received a phone call from +88213213340 at 18:06. I thought that is a rather strange number, so I did not answer. I have spoken to my phone company to try to block this person from calling me and to check my account balance. They are aware of the problem, but they can not block these numbers from calling me they said. The lady said any number starting with 8821 is a 'fake number', that I should not answer. If I do not answer, they can not use my phone number for anything. I have not been charged anything. This happened in The Netherlands by the way.

I just got called and stupid as I am I called back. I expected a phone call from a foreign country.

I called my phone company and they have received many calls and complaints about this number.

Does anyone already has a indication about the costs or problems?

Min stedfar ringede til Telmore, som sagde, at hvis der kom en stor regning pga opkaldet, var det vores eget problem, fordi han tog den... Han vil først kunne se det på regningen om ca 4 uger :S

I'm from the Netherlands too and they call me yesterday. I missed al call and call them back. I have a problem... My phone company doest know anything about this problem. I will call them now to informate about my billstatus...
Sh*t! happens...

I called my phonecompany and i was the third call about this problem. The man from the helpdesk says that it is deffintly NOT possible to "hack" a phone or that people can use you're money for expensive calls. So dont worry everyone, they CANT make high phonebills.
The man will figure it out but no worries.

I got a call as well.. I called back and I heard the number was not in use..
Does this cost me money? Does anybody know more about this strange number?

Got a call this morning around 9.20. Had to recharge my card in order to call back. Thought this was weird since I had 30 kroners left, but I didn't thinkt about it before after I called. I checked my mobilaccount, and the call cost me around 40 kroner... Watch out, and don´t call back

Well, they just called me like fifteen minutes ago (I'm living in the Netherlands), and I answered it, but didn't hear anything... I didn't call back, thank god, but still.. A bit scary.
