Just got called TDC A/S Denmark

Got the call on my Police-paid cell-phone.
It is not an EMSAT number for several reasons:
The remainder of the dialled number is now the important part. At Eutelsat, we only work with a few thousand EMSAT numbers within the EMSAT virtual country. Each one, assigned to us by Telespazio, designates one of our customers' mobile terminals.

All our assigned terminal numbers are exactly six digit long, for instance:
00 88213 461731 or 00 88213 850243

Moreover, our assigned numbers are not selected at random by Telespazio, but generated to according to the following pattern:
00 88213 xx yyy z

Whereby:
xx stands for either 00, 10, 20, 30, 41, 46, 58, 60, 85 or 86
yyy is any 3-digit number 000, 001, 002, 003, … or 999
z can only be equal to 1, 2 or 3

Now, look at your phone bill again. We are sure that the unknown phone number on your phone bill does not match the structure above. For instance, it might look like:
00 88213 98 077 8
This is not an EMSAT number used by Eutelsat as assigned to us by Telespazio. The "xx" prefix is not in our list and the trailing digit "z" is not "1", '2'" or"3". Clearly, a number within the virtual EMSAT country has been dialled but it is not a number that Eutelsat uses or controls.

I had same miss call 10 mins ago, Turkey!

But i couldn't call back.

I also got a call from the +88213213340 number since i use my phone for work i picked up the call. It disconnects immediately after picking up.

Location Netherlands, phone network Vodafone.

I din't call the number back because i wanted to check the i-net 1st to check it out.

Recieved missed call on 17h of august at 1.23pm GMT+1 on a my swiss number while I was in Egypt! :-)

I got a call and stupid enough I called back, no answer only a bip. Damn!. I will call my provider and hopefully everything is ok. :(
Please don't answer and report it to your provider, perhaps they can stop any future surprise bill(s).

Called my norwegain phonenumber this morning. Scary!! Does anybody know what it is and why they are calling all this people?

Also recieved the call today. I thought it was a strange number so i lokked for comments on the internet!

I received the same call yesterday on my Danish number... Don't pick it up!

Do not answer the phone or return this call. This is just a scam!! If you return the call your call will be patched trough a satelite, and you will get a huge phone bill.

Telephone numbers starting with the digits +882 13 belong to the virtual country EMSAT. EMSAT is a satellite which is used by Eutelsat to offer some services. Eutelsat itself, however, uses only a limted number of phone numbers. The phone number which is used to call in The Netherlands (and elsewhere in Europe and maybe other parts of the world) mobile phones isn't one used by Eutelsat. Eutelsat phone numbers are formatted as follows: 00 88213 xx yyy z

where:

'xx' is one of the following pairs of digits '00', '10', '20 , '30', '41', '46', '58', '60', '85' or '86'
'yyy' can be any number between '000' until (and including) '999'
'z' is a '1', '2' or '3'
The 'xx'- and 'z'-parts from the phone numer concerned differ from the Eutelsatnumber format.
Phone conversations are routed via Italy. Non-Eutelsat phone numbers can be used for premium phone services. If I understand correctly, the owner of the phone number can get 36 to 42 eurocents per minute connection time. And I wouldn't be surprised that every call to this number, however short, will count as one minute. I'm not really sure what the charge will be ... it will be expensive! I read somewhere it can cost €3 per minute (someone even claims a cost of €10 per call!). Depending on your plan and/or provider, answering a call from +88213 213340 will cost you nothing (in The Netherlands answering a call while located in The Netherlands is free of charge). And it doesnt'matter if you visited Italy recently or not ... the dialing of your number is -I think- determined in another way.

did not pickup, but called back, they did not answer.

Who the !@#$% is this? This number called me when i was in Spain on holiday....I heard a man speaking defenitely NOT Spanish. When i called him back i heard a womans voice mail, an they hang up.

just got this myself (on my swiss mobile). called back, woman answered in what sounded like italian, i hung up.

Well ...I got a call from this number but it was a short call ...and i didn't get to answer it ...i hope i didn't loose any money or something from my credit ...what [***]

I also got the call from that number. who ever whos sitting behind this scam is most likely making millions off of this just not from me i didnt call back after i saw this blog... so again thanks for your blogings.

Got the call this night at 20:36 PM.. I did not answer the call and I did not call back. I feel a little bit lucky...coz its my worl´s cellphone! But however, i did write this to my company TDC, and I will wait for a reply from them. Hopefully soon....
