    just me
I'm sure if you've read the above, you know hat I listened to.  I got operator & 456, Sherri.  She asked for my information and I cut her off asking first how they got my information (I did NOT fill out something), and what the business name was so I could look them up online with the BBB.  GMI Enterprises brings up nothing, but if you type in Government Mortgage Insurance, two things pop up:

    http://alaskaoregonwesternwashington.bbb.org/ ... 6&firm=22412853
    Name:      Government Mortgage Insurance
    Phone:     (888) 225-0068
    Address:     8898 SW Stono Dr
        Tualatin, OR 97062-7179
    File Open Date:     September 2007
    Industry Classification:     Work-At-Home Companies
BBB Accreditation:     This organization is not a BBB Accredited business.

    And this one:

    http://alaskaoregonwesternwashington.bbb.org/ ... 6&firm=22412853
    Name:      Government Mortgage Insurance
    Phone:     (888) 225-0068
    Address:     8898 SW Stono Dr
        Tualatin, OR 97062-7179
    File Open Date:     September 2007
    Industry Classification:     Work-At-Home Companies
BBB Accreditation:     This organization is not a BBB Accredited business.

Now, neither have any complaints, but there's been too much negative going around that far outweighs the positive few posts.  {{shrugs}}  Either way, I'm contacting the Treasury Department with the information, and I'll let them deal with it.

GMI is a RIP OFF!!! They called from 1888-225-0068 and stated that they had great opportunities. To make a long story short, they turned out to be a fraudulent company and they do not refund your money no matter what they say!!!!!!!

Attention.... please everyone says the samething but no one has not mentioned if they even tried the business. Alot of companys had bad reviews and still they make money, now my concern is ,anyone is going to even try the business at least to see if it really doesn't work. After all if you paid because it sounds good so why not try the business. What if it really works, why would i say something is a scam without getting the opinion of a real source, meaning someone who purchased and worked it. Just like someone tells you don't get married, thats a bad comment, very negative. I know peolpe who are married and their great. I am trying to get at is stop talking about a scam just because someone else says is a scam, make sure someone actually tried this type of business then complained, i really do appreciate if someone talks about this business but with the experience that they at least followed what the program entitles you to do, thanks

Jose, think through this a little. They are selling thousands of people the same list they are selling you. They are making a fortune from doing this. Let's do the math. You get a list with for example, 1,000 names on it. 5,000 other people have bought this same list and are working it. Then you pay to print and mail your letter to 1,000 names. The problem is each one of these people have been contacted a gazillion times.

What is more, my friend, is that you can find this same list online for free. So can the people who are owed refunds.

And the list you purchased probably cost GMI $3 to send. And you just gave them $79.

Is it a legitimate business? Yes. It is registered with the state of Oregon. Is it a scam? Yes. The product is crap and you will spend more money than you will make. The owners are the only ones getting rich by selling "The American Dream".

I was contacted by this company about two weeks ago and received the documentation within 5 days. GMI is not listed on the BBB of Oregon which usually means there have been no complaints filed with them for this company.
When I entered "Refund of Mortgage Insurance Recovery", other companies were
listed for this business. My Orientation Manual includes step-by-step instructions along with a CD. The website provided on the Manual is valid. While this may turn out to be a scam; GMI has gone to a lot of effort to make it look good. Also, this is the first "scam" that informed me that I would have to work and that I would receive a large amount of month within a week.

I am in the same boat as Lehne so I understand the fear of incurring more debt.  The only problem that I have with the representation is the fact that
manual does not advise the buyer that the lists of people that are owed money are obtained through the Federal Government and these are not free. They are listed by state so the user can choose how much they want to spend. Many of the large States are over 800 pages long priced accordingly. I intend to start small.

    Hope That This is Helpful

I was lucky and didn't fall for this. I started asking all of these questions about proving that it's not a scam, and they hung up on me. The number that showed up on my caller id:
    Paging Phones CA
    818-870-8193
When i had asked if they are affiliated with the government, then why use paging phones CA, i was told because its just a phone service that they use to make the phone calls.
I also serched the internet for this GMI Enterprises and all I keep coming across is scam warnings on this company. I have heard more horror stories then legit ones. Makes me really wonder if the ppl who are saying that they are legit are part of the scam. And if they were legit, then with all that info that El Pistolero came up with, these ppl who he is talking about wouldn't feel the need to change the spellings of there names in any way, shape or form.

    Lehne,

Many of the complainers on this forum have no idea it is a scam.  They have OPINIONS.  But nothing they have said proves that it is a scam.  You are one of the only one's who have ordered the orientation manual.  That wasn't stupid.  That was courageous.  Many other people who seem to "know" its a scam, DON'T KNOW, because they didn't get that far because they are either paranoid, cowardly, superstitious, disbelieving or ignorant.

So, here's my advice to you, since you already bought in, WORK IT.  Find out for all of us.  If it's a scam, you won't get your refund back anyway.  If it is ligit, you'll make money.

So, WORK IT, and let us know how it goes in a month or so from now.

I am not affiliated with GMI Enterprises except that I've recieved several calls and I'm like everyone else who is wondering if it's a credible income opportunity.

Here's my advice for everyone else.  Lay your OPINIONS aside.  They are worth nothing if not backed by knowledge.

I am on here because my neighbor asked me to go as partners in this deal. But I didn't say anything to him and said I would check it out with an open mind. Well when I checked it out I actually emailed the HUD website and they responded with " what this GMI is doing unfortunately is not illegal but they personally will not get involved with third party tracers." So if HUD themselves won't get involved than how the hell does anyone expect to get any money from this? I have emailed this Jeremy guy that was on the GMI website a few times now mentioning no names but explained how this made me feel about him scamming an old man and I said either refund the man or I was going to contact the Better Business Bureau. So he emails me back wanting me to give him this guys personal info. so he can refund him and do you think I even believed that crap after seeing on the internet soooo many people wanting their money back. Oh how I wish I could get it through peoples heads DO NOT FALL FOR THIS BS!!! I think it is terrible but if you get involved than just kiss your [***] and your wallet goodbye.

I think all things are Good if you have faith in God and believe it will work all I have read on this page is pure negativeness, not one of you gave it at least a little hope, and besides if it is a scam then the unjust will suffer and the suffered will be blessed ten fold. I too feel i am scammed everyday by my government each and every day i get up for work, my kids are under educated, the food is overly priced, the gas is extremely high, and my president and government officals are ripping me a new one every day they take out taxes claiming they go here and there. Especially when i play lotto they claim a certain amount goes towards education B.S. So if it's not legit i'll get my $79.99 dollars back because after shipping and handling that's what it cost me. Sotry it if it doesn't work ask for a refund.

I have been working for some 24 months on-line providing Business Planning and Web Design. My background includes many years as a Business Consultant working across the states. I supposedly retired at age 75, and that was two years ago. Emotionally, I just cannot be retired.

When the call came, I was in a listening mood. Your phone was handed off to some three levels before I got someone to really talk. I paid the $69 fee, received your package today and here we are.

I received a call from GMI and proceeded with ordering the info. Got the info and went to the website. I didn't like what I seen and was sceptical after reading the manual anyway, so I called and said I didn't want to do this and the lady said just mail the manual back and they will refund my money. We'll see! I can't believe I fell for this sort of thing again! Something must be done about this!

    Not an opinion
Joe, you are naive and you are probably one of the owners of GMI.

I worked with one of the owners. S/he has no sense of integrity, has a degree in acting and is only interested in taking your money. Not opinion, personal experience.

Think through this. What makes more money for the owners of GMI? Taking your money for worthless lists, or working the program themselves? Selling you promises of the stay-at-home business, or working that "brilliant" idea themselves.

Nobody on this list writes in and says, "Wow, this is great."

It is both legit and a scam. It is a legitimate, legal business. But the service they sell is worthless.

Yea, they called me too. They wanted 69 dollars for a mailing list. They were out of Oregon also, yes they said they worked with HUD and FHA loans. What b...sh.. They are scammers. They want your money. I don't know how they got my number but I wish they would get caught. What comes around goes around. I hope they get theirs... I thought it was too good to be true, glad I checked into it. The number they called me from was 603-214-3632. But when I asked for a call back number they gave me 917-285-3130. Don't do it...you be sorry

Though I have had no dealings with this company directly, my husband was suckered into the exact program about 5 years back.  I friend just told me about this business as I am currently looking for stay at home work, but I wont touch it.  The company five years ago may have even been from the same people they called it "tracking" instead of processing, but it's the same "job".

first, the refundable turned out not to be so refundable because he hadn't jumped through the ridiculous hoops that hadn't been explained to him in the beginning and by the time they were, he could no longer do them.  Then, they didn't stop the monthly automatic payments until we closed the account a couple years later and sent the past due bill to collections.  I never realized they were still withdrawing money because I thought it was a different bill being paid.  When I called for the over $550 refund they refused saying that I never canceled.  But they did have my request for the initial fee return on file.  I asked them why I would call to have the start up fee returned and not want to cancel the monthly fee?  But in the end, I no longer had the cancellation number and never got back the money.

On top of all that we found out that you don't need them!  If you want to waste your time calling the same people everyone else has been calling to try to get money for them (and you) you can do it without paying a separate company for their "help".

Well, I was a sucker, I guess...I ordered and paid $79 for the pkg back in November 2008, then paid for the software, another $70, which they claim stream-lines your work, and allows 24-7 access to HUD's database, "no more having to buy each state's list separately".  I have invested, stupidly, over $400 for postage, people-finders online membership, supplies like printer paper, printer ink, envelopes, etc. I even went so far as to get letterhead printed up so the letters I send out would look way more professional.  I have only received ONE response from all my time, effort, and costs, and this response was a person with the EXACT same name as the person I was trying to locate, also similar gov't loan experiences, etc.  Tracking people has taken all of my time, cost me way too much, and has left me feeling taken.  I really wanted this to work out, but am now feeling as though this whole thing is a scam.  I have sent an email to the company and am now awaiting a response.  any others out there?  i wanna know if ANYBODY at all has gone as far as I have to make this program work, and then if they were at all successful.  my email addy:  groovydee@live.com
    Thanks for listening.....Denise
