I received a call from this number this evening and there was no 'speaking'.  The call came to be at 8:49 pm.  All I could hear was people talking in the background, faintly.  BUT...I did hear 'heavy breathing' instead...and, it was disgusting.  What can I do about this?

They called and I said Hello, then this recording comes on and says "You are currently the only one in the conversation." or something like that, and then heard this guy say something like "hello" but it hung up as he was saying hello.

I get these phone calls two or three times a day. The caller ID is "Unknown Name". I have 6 different numbers calling each day with "Unknown Name" ID's.  How does a person get these callers to stop without having to change your phone number?

This number showed up three times on my vonage voicemail today, twice this morning and once this evening.  the first call left a (2min 34sec) silent message.  the second call left a voice message that was speaking in a foreign language unbeknownst to me with what sounded like tv noise in the background.  the last call was another silent message.

It is DISH NETWORK.  They called to confirm a service call for tomorrow.  I told them that they really need to have their name on the caller ID.  They said they would forward that to upper management.

Only thing we had left to try since they are obviously really sh!tty at actual customer service and can't remove you from their calling list by talking to them in person.  Or by having your number on the Do Not Call registry since its inception.

Keep getting calls from them everyday, once I answered their call and asked if we had some "business" with them. Now they just called and left a voice on the answering machine about a broken window.

I get 2 to 3 of these calls daily! It is Dish Network. I cancelled their crappy service over a year ago. I dialed the number back yesterday and did the "do not call" registration (which does take a month).
Just received another call today (1 so far). All I did was answer it and hang up.

no one talked. like that is just  rude.

got 2 call an hour apart no message. i have filed several complaints for a similar number with fcc.gov complaint dept. gonna file another on this one. i am also on donotcall registry.

the calls are coming from this # is a scam, dont give your info and decline, let them know you have tracking software and will report this to the BBB and local investigators. i have contacted dish network, they do not have any # that matches and that the caller was offering a cinimax package, which dish is not running a promo. so beware of the [***] that are to lazy to earn a living and pray on the people who work hard for a living. report this to dish network, as a customer let them look into this, they are using there name which is a breach of copy right laws.

No doubt this is Dish Network. I had service with Dish for many years - no complaints.  But they kept offering deals in advertisements that were a lot less than what I was paying. I contacted Dish via email multiple times to ask if they could offer anything like what DirectTV was offering. I was prepared to stick with Dish for a slight discount. I never got a reply from Dish.

When I called to cancel the Dish service, after getting DirectTV installed, they started jabbering about all kind of deals.  Too late.  I am paying less for DirectTV than I was paying for Dish and I get more channels plus locals, which I did not have with Dish.

Dish is calling to try to get me to resubscribe, which is not going to happen for a while and maybe never.

Looking at some of the other peoples comments, they say that this number 888-285-9984 is Dish Network. Since I am registered with the Federal do not call registery I'm wondering why do these calls continue. I presently have Direct TV and am satisfied with them. By the way, I used to be a Dish Network customer and they still keep calling to get me back. When I did have Dish back one year ago they wouldn't give me High Definition TV. I have this TV
7 years old at a cost of $2000 and all they give me for that last 6 years was four useless High Definition channels. When they found out I was leaving them, then all kinds of High Definition stations became available. I was paying for High Definition TV but not getting it so that's why I left them for Direct TV. As far as I am cencerned they owe me lots of money over the last six years for not giving me the High Definition service that I was paying for. That's water over the dam now.

I called back and it is identified as Sales & Marketing for DISH Network. I think what this is is a third-party company that's been given a list of numbers to call to try to get new sales. I was a long-time DISH customer a year ago but no longer due to their poor negoitiation with major channel providers like ABC. I am on the Do No Call Registry but since I was once a customer they can still call me. Bummer!
