- HOPEFUL replies to GEE| 2 repliesGee,
Your writing in this forum is clearly the most objective and informative.
90% of the people complain in advance, anticipating a scam.
The truth is, this company is trying to sell you a product (vacations) that comes with all flexibility for them and zero flexibility for yourself. So, indeed, you may pay for something that you will never be happy with. The simplest way out of such situation is simply not to buy their product, not to pay cash, not to give credit cards information. The same applies for the free trips etc.
As far as the free Android Tablet, your experience is talking for itself. You were smart enough to refuse giving any SS information, and eventually you did receive the tablet (even if it is a junk). So, in your case there was no technical scam, just quite an effort to follow through.
Now, after reading your mails, we did visit the same presentation (it was only 15 min away). There was no pressure whatsoever. We were given a certificate for the free gifts, we entered this certificate number on the www.simplygreatgifts.com website. In the next step a Product Request Form was generated, which we printed out. This form shows our address and the product (Android Tablet) we are requesting. The form also contains our certificate number and customer ID number. We had to attach also a driver's license photocopy, and mailed everything to Whitehouse, TX 75791. Importantly, however, NO W9 FORM or SS NUMBER WERE EVER REQUESTED! I wonder if Gee's input somehow changed their attitude in this regard.
We do not know whether we will receive this famous tablet, we did it just for fun.
However, it appears that, so far, we have no reason to cry scam. Yet, we are not sure if this would be the case if were to go ahead and decide to purchase their products.
In any case, I would ask everybody about their experience providing a photo-ID such as drivers license: is this a risky practice and why it should be avoided? As far as SS numbers everybody knows, but the drivers license only shows name and address.
Thanks - Ken replies to catladyjjThanks for the heads up catlady, just received the letter today & it went from counter
into the rubbish. - Dan D replies to JeanI also got the letter today. i did call and it does appear to be a time share/vacation package sales pitch. it is a 90 minutes presentation. i am going to go, only because my wife and i have done this before and because i am so strong headed im not talked into anything i dont want. i dont make snap decisions and i research everything to a fault before i commit. we did this type of sales pitch a few years ago, we didnt buy anything, confirmed in writing everything. we got a free vacation out of it. they did try to switch us out of our very nice hotel after day one when we declined to buy. they were in for a @*^&%$#$%^&* surprise when they approached me. i had my documents and just before i started busting the guys head against the block wall they backed down. so we will see if i can have some fun with these folks, hahaha. ill let you all know how it goes.
- hate these scams| 1 replythank you all for posting all your information about this company and their scam. I was suppose to go tonight to hear their 90 min scam. I am on phone right now with them they are claiming "if you send in your certificate with a photo ID you will recive the android tablet," but I will take all of your words for it, IT'S A SCAM.
I'm not sure it this will help but they did give me another number- 888-796-6573 Randine Umbla was her name she said call in the evenings.
I guess you can say I'm wasting their time now...I'm suppose to go tonight or call them. I won't bother doing either

- Phishy-Phishy replies to ErmaUsing the caller ID block (*67) when calling an 800 number (866, 877, and 888 too) will not block your number from being seen by the receiver of the call. Since they are paying for the call, they have the right to know who is calling them. If you don't believe me, check with your phone company.
