I actually called the number, scheduled the 90 min presentation,  and went to the presentation. The presentation was 90 minutes, they tried to sell a vacation package. We immediately said "NO". They try to sweet the deal as best as they can. The package is ridiculous. Nevertheless, we saw individuals still hand them a check. We once again said "NO". They handed us a certificate. The certificate is from Simply Great Gifts. They want you to send in the certificate and your photo ID. We send in the info, but put a tracking on the letter to make sure that someone has to physically sign for the letter. The letter was attempted to be delivered on June 4, 2012. Today is June 5, 2012 and no one has tried to claim the letter yet. I tried calling the Simply Great Gifts company to ask why? Well, there is no number to the Simply Great Gifts. They do give you a website to quickly register your certificate. Well, I went to the website and not shockingly to me they had a W-9 form they wanted you to fill out which requires you to input your social security number on the computer. Well, that was where I drew the line. I had the idea well, I will just call the original number back that started this entire process. The T.J. Johnson number 18883126280. I put in the package number and a live representative speaks to me. I explained I do not want to enter the social she got a manager on the line. She gives me a lame excuse that I have to enter my social so that they can verify who they gave the gifts too. Well, I told her that's not true. I have traveled out of the country through a gift and never had to give my social which is a true statement. Then she said well she can waive the W-9 form, but can not guarantee the gifts. Therefore, I told her where does it say in writing that I have to fill this W-9 form out. There is obviously nowhere to be found so she told me I will have to call back tomorrow to see if they pick up the letter from there P. O. Box and then we will proceed. I will let you all know the results. I will not quit until I find the complete truth about this. I am kinda scared since I did send them my driver's license if they can some way scheme to get my social that way. Nowadays, it would not surprise me. Fortunately, I do not mind suing.

I just got this in the mail today and it appeared to be legitimate but sorta to good to be true also.  But i couod probably sit through a sales presentation for a free tablet.  I mean, my God how bad can it be?  Although its sort of misleading, im not going to hide in my closet and cry scam at the first site of a misleading sales technique.  I think its sad that half the people on here dont have the self image enough to say NO to a salesman.  Are we all 8 years old here?  If you cant sit through a sales presentation and make an adult decision of yes or no, no matter what techniques they use, then maybe you are the scammer and maybe you have something to hide.   I must add, i have no affiliation with this company or use any sales techniques like this for anything.  Im just an old fashioned American who cant stand weak people with a victim mentality who live their lives in fear... Like or leave it, thats my .02

You may not mind sitting through a sales presentation, but if they end up using your information to compromise your identity, the value of the cheesy Android tablet will pale to the value of what you may lose in the long run.  Use caution.

My parents received this in the mail yesterday and because I'm a technology guy I know this is a scam, just look at the specs on the tablet they're so called giving away. The parts are so old it's not worth anyone's time. 2.3 android OS when android is at 4.0, 0.2 mp camera when the lowest MP camera is a 1.0 in existence. Plus my phone has a better camera and came out 2 years ago.

I'll like to add this tablet is already out and is sold out of China so beta testing it has already been done which also screams to me a obvious scam. T.J. Johnson is also a character in a movie. So to conclude  T.J. Johnson and associates you should be aware of their scam.

I received the letter too.  The letter stated that all they wanted from me was to fill out a survey for marketing research. It came with the survey.  Being in the IT industry,  the survey seemed too superficial.

Thanks for confirming this is bogus.

I received the letter from T.J. Johnson and Associates today (6/8/12).  As soon as I read the letter, I had a gut feeling it was a scam.  I showed it to my husband and daughter when they got home from work.  My husband did some on line investigating, and ran across this website.  Read all of your comments...thanks for confirming my doubts.  I think I will let the local postmaster general know about this.  Thanks again everyone.

Please let me know what happens with the w9, I also sat through the 90 minute presentation just to see what it was really like. I went to redeem my gift and saw I had to fill out a w9, read your post and decided to try to call, needless to say they said they will call me back, this was 3 days ago. I am going to try to call again later today. I have heard of people sitting through these presentations and actually getting the stuff they were told they were going to get, but do not feel right about filling out a w9.

    Kyle.

People are certainly entitled to their own reservations and reserve the prerogative to share them.  You are no more American than they are and most likely, no bolder or mentally stronger.  Never just attack. That in itself is indicitive of a somewhat significant reservation on ones part.

I also got the letter, researched it online.  I am not above seeing a presentation and selecting NO firmly if necessary  However I will not attend.  The postings have described the device to me and I will not endure the gamut to receive the low, low quality pad.
If someone decides to research...let it be.  If someone wants to take the opinion of others...let it be as well.  Due to such postings I was able to make an enlightened decision.  Thanks to ALL OF YOU for the input.
