- MiamiI have received about 20 calles from this number in the last 2 weeks. I do not answer toll free calls.
However, I finally called this number back today (30 AUG 12) to see who/why they are calling an they said they were calling my number because of 2 different/unrelated names.
I asked them who they were looking for but the "names" they responded with were not decipherable, meaning I do not believe these were real names (neither the first nor second names) in any language.
I person I was talking to was NOT a native English speaking person so they had no idea. The English they spoke sounded like it was from Pakistan, possibly a call centre in Lahore.
They indicated they would remove both entries from their system. I do not yet know if this will happen.- Caller: Allied Collections

- jcUnknown, call at all.hours. Don't say who they are or what they are. Will report them to the state and BBB. Giving out personal information to the wrong people via VOICE MAIL. Not to bright!!!
- Caller: Unknown
- p polkcalls daily from 8 ;15 am till as late as 10 ;00pm im reporting to federal trade comm
- Caller: dont know never leave message
- dblvictory replies to pblakeIn your voice mail message do not mention your name or phone number. Just say thanks for calling please leave a message at the tone.
If you are using a cell phone, save the unwanted caller's number as a contact then choose "None" as a ringtone for this number. This forces them to leave a message. After about 30 calls like this they will usually give up.
Another cool trick is to assign all your phone contacts a ringtone. Then set your cell phone to no ring for all other callers. This way anyone you do not know including calls marked Private or UNKNOWN will not ring but must leave a message.
If you are being called on a land line get a cheap answering machine for your phone. Program the answering machine to pick up after the 4 or 6th ring. You can screen your calls to see if it is someone you want to talk to. This forces all other callers to leave a message. They wont.
Do not call list is not effective anymore. It is not enforceable and lots of these crooks are in other countries anyway
Good Luck - dblvictoryDo not answer.
I accidentally answered this call just now and did not say anything. Right away I was informed by a male with a thick Asian voice that the call was being recorded. I in turn said only "this call is being recorded. An Asian male voice began to berate me as a "slime ball" and even called me by name.
I don't owe anyone any money and have no credit cards. It is probaby some old debt that I already paid that these scammers are trying to collect on a second time.
I saved the number as a cell phone contact and assigned it ringone of NONE. This way this call will never ring again and they will be forced to leave a message.- Call type: Debt collector
- TanyaI keep receiving calls from this number and no one has left a voice mail message stating why they are calling or who is calling.

- Another harassed replies to donotanswerI just got a call from this number. There was a guy with a heavy Indian accent trying to verify my identity. He asked if I lived at a address in Arkansas. I asked him if he knew the number he called is in Kansas. I asked him what he wanted and he kept trying to verify the Arkansas address. He would not say what he wanted and I told him to take a flying leap. I told him to have someone call that spoke English.
He never would say who the company he works for is. I expect to get more calls and I plan to hurt their feelings everytime I do. - kuulei replies to donotanswerthey called me constantly. Finally answered and they said i owed a bill that was overdue 8 yrs ago.. I told them I thought I did make that payment and would have to go dig up old check registers first before attempting to pay. The rep tried to get me to commit to a psot-dated check. I said no i will not until I have proof i need to pay. He kept insisting. I told him i was promised before by another company trying to collectthat a post dated check would not be touched, but the company went ahead to cash it before I could prove it was paid. He kept pushing and i hung up. So I am glad I read by many comments that this company tries to collect for old debts that may have already been paid.
- G!I keep getting call from these people. I owe no one..... Is there anything I can do about this?
- JahDaveCalls my cell and doesn't leave a message. Had the number blocked. Problem solved.

- Someone with a phone replies to donotanswerI've received multiple calls from this number I answer and most of the time no one is there. They called this morning and someone with a heavy accent (Indian I believe) asked if I am a certain person. I said yes and then she asked if I lived in a certain city and state. I moved out of that city and state back in 1971. So I asked here what she wanted. She said it was a personal matter. I told her if she didn't get to the point I would hang up. She again asked me if I lived in that city and state. I again told her she needed to get to the point. Finally I asked her what she was wearing. She paused and I went off on her. I did not use any vulgar language but I did let her know that I need to talk to someone that speaks English. I started asking her questions like are they pink, are they thong, and she hung up. I'm looking forward to the next call. ;)
- MeisterI use a "Google Voice" number (a 'virtual' phone # that rings all my other phones).
I get calls every once in a while from 888-316-6088, and it's my Google Voice # that they dial.
I have it set up to not ring any of my phones...as a matter of fact, i have it set up as "Spam",
so when they call, instead of ringing my phones or going to voicemail, they get a recording that says
"beep beep beep the number you have reached is not in service...."
Google keeps a history of all calls, and my spam folder shows they still repeatedly call, anyway. - AnoidI have been getting up to seven calls a day from this number. Sometimes they start calling before 8 AM. I have a new cell phone and unlisted number, and some how, they have now started calling me on that number. I do not know the people they are looking for.
- Caller: Allied Interstate
- Call type: Debt collector
- MK| 1 replyAllied Interstate - not a collections agency...they provide homeowners and other types of insurance. I just requested a quote from them via a lowest-quote-finding agency, but when they called, no one spoke, and hung up. Probably an auto-dialer that isn't working. They offered me a good quote, but I'm going with Allstate instead since I have my auto insurance there.
- Caller: Allied Interstate Insurance.
- Anoid replies to MKYou must have talked to a different Allied Interstate. The one that called me was and East Indian or Pakistani, very rude and belligerent, and was definitely a Debt collector, not an insurance company. You can go to their website at : www.allied-interstate.com
- Paul NRepeated calls from this number on my cell. I have anwswered and no one has yet to be on the line
