- susanCalled 2/4/13 about 1pm. The ID just says toll free but some people seem to know who this number is. I don't have any debts but in my experience they could be calling to locate someone else. Before I got a Panasonic phone and could block them they would call several times a day for a month. They will call anyone with a similar name or thanks to the internet, if they look up the name and it shows people who "May" be related, call them.

- K MacI have this number labeled on my contact list as DNA (Do Not Answer) as this person is relentless calling anywhere from 1 to 4 times daily and anytime from 8 am till 930 pm! He or she never leaves a message. If they are trying to collect debt from me it is all news to me as my credit has been impeccable for a decade. Anyone know how to stop this number from calling?

- Majorly AnnoyedThis number has started calling me non-stop out of the blue to my company cellphone at all times of the day. No answer on the other line, but when I call back an Indian guy answers the other line. It's awful! This needs to stop now.
- SusanI called this number back, after receiving dozens of phone calls at all times of the day and night, and no one answered when I said hello. The lady that I talked to when I called was Nadin. She was looking for DENNIS O'BRIAN! I don't know him! Never heard of him, but if you are out there, give them a call please! I told them to remove my number from their list. Let's see if they do!

- susan replies to Anchorage, AK girlieYour number is blocked on my phone. You think you would get a clue when you try to call every day of the week, at several times during the day and there is no response. But, if you want to waste your time that's your business. The people that call are probably people desperate for a job. But, the people that own the company must be making money by carrying out their disgusting business or they wouldn't keep at it. The price to pay for living in a democracy where any low-life can pray on the elderly and stupid. If I ever did have the time or inclination I might track them down and pay them a visit in person and convince them to stop calling anyone ....permanently.
- Jay B.We receive calls from this number on our home phone 3 to 5 times per day, from 8am till 9pm -- every day, 7 days a week for over a month. We have never answered. Why would we answer a call that shows up on the caller ID as FREE CALL TOLL? That doesn't even make sense! Did they mean Free Toll Call?? LOL
We have turned the ringer off on our phone and only check the caller ID occasionally. You'd think they would have learned by now, but they must be getting paid for each call they make. They never leave a message, so I guess it's not that important!- Caller: FREE CALL TOLL
- ErnieI get calls from this company and Asset Acceptance, often within minutes or seconds of each other: I don't answer either anymore; Asset Acceptance always calls asking for people who have never had this number. They once asked me for someone I knew (or at least someone by that name) and when I asked why they wanted to speak to that person, they told me "We have business [with so-and-so]." I told them that I knew for a fact that wasn't true, a woman asked "Are you [so-and-so's] lawyer?" They must think that people are pretty stupid (the basic postulate of all con artists), because they'd have a judgement by now if there were really a debt to which they could refer. I saw a news programme on television that said they can buy debt for as little as $25 -- so if they collect $30 -- they earn $5 minus the price of the call, so they probably won't be stopping unless we get new legislation and/or enforcement.

- SusanThey been calling me twice a day for the last few weeks. I never answer. I have it on my blocked list so it rings once and then they are cut off. The only positive thing is that it gives some poor foreigner a job; not much of a job, but a job. Anyway, I don't care. They can call from now to doomsday and I will never answer.

- MichelleI get one or two calls from this company a day, I called them back and asked why they were calling. The gentleman was very polite and told me he was looking for Gregory Somethingorother. I told him that person doesn't live at my home. He apologized and said he would not be calling again.

- JonoDebt Collector Will Pay $1.75 Million to Settle FTC Charges
Ignored Consumers’ Disputes Without Checking Its Information for Accuracy
To resolve Federal Trade Commission charges, one of the nation’s largest debt collectors will pay $1.75 million for allegedly making repeated telephone calls to collect from the wrong person, to collect the wrong amount, or both. The settlement is the second largest civil penalty obtained by the FTC in a debt collection case.
“Debt collectors had better make sure their information is accurate, or they could end up paying a big penalty,” said David Vladeck, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “There is no excuse for trying to collect debt from someone if you can’t confirm that they actually owe it.”

- ErinThey have been calling us to reach a lady that apparently had our number before we got it 4 years ago. We have received other calls for this woman from different debt collectors, so I believe it is a legit call, but just very persistent. I called them back finally and they said they would remove my number and were nice. Hopefully that works.

- GLTirebiterAGAIN with the early a.m. phone calls on my landline (which is registered on the DNC list, for all the good that does!) -- one at 8:15 and another at 8:30. Heavily accented voice with lots of static/interference, it was just like you said Carolyn 3-2-2012. He says "Hello, may I please speak to Trff Bmzklfrpz?" (as nearly as I could make out). I was barely awake, gave my usual "sorry, there's no one here by that name" grunt and hung up. I'm getting really tired of this. It just says TOLL FREE CALLER on the caller ID.

- Ann CunninghamThese people call several times per day. Daily at 8:20 a.m. I do not answer. They hang up on the answering machine. I have no debts for them to collect. I will soon threaten them with the Attorney General of Texas if they do not quit.

- JohnI never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, so I don't know what this is. They didn't leave a message.
- Scsquared888-316-6088 was calling me several times a day. Since I didn't recognize the number I didn't answer. They never once left a message. Finally, after two weeks of non-stop calls I called the number with a blocked line. I spoke with a man who had a heavy Indian accent. I asked who was calling. He stated that the company is called Allied Interstate. I asked what kind of company they were. He would not state the type. We went round of a minute or two before I flat out asked if he was debt collection agency. He stated that, "we are a business that would like to discuss personal matters." He then demanded my phone number so he could look up the account. I hung up.
Shortly after this call, I looked online and found this website. Using the suggestion of another, I answered their next call stating that the line was being recorded for legal purposes. The gentleman stated the same. He refused to state the reason he was calling and the name of the company he was calling from. He asked to speak to a person whom I have to assume was a previous owner of the number before me because I've never heard of them before. I told him he had the wrong number. The guy stated they were sorry that the called and would remove my number from the account.
My advice, just answer and say they have to wrong number. That seems to have been the quicker solution. I just wished I thought to look it up and do it sooner. I googled their name and found their website. They are indeed a debut collector. If your like me and you know you pay your bills, don't get conned in to paying for something you don't owe.
Hope this helped.- Caller: Allied Interstate

- MaryI am getting daily calls from this number. This number spoofed my old cell number in February and found my new one. I am calling the police to report them in case they spoof my number again. They were using MY cell number to appear on caller ID to talk to strangers about money owed.
