Let me say this be very careful this company does not do background screening for their employees that work there. So giving out a social security number over the phone is not good at all.

They are phony, phony don't trust them if you recieve ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from them call the service you so called owe like directv and ask are they affiliated in any way. If they say no call 800-531-5000 for identity theft becasue you could be a victim.

My folks were caught by surprise when they looked up the Dish phone number on the internet and got this Dish 1 up instead. Same story as recounted here many times. How do these Dish 1 Up employees and owners sleep at night? They better hope that there's no after-life because otherwise they're in for one "helluva" surprise!

We just received a call from this number.  We could hardly understand his english as he was obviously from another country, probably India.  But the gist of what he was saying was he was from Dish network and they were in the process of upgrading the system and changing the satellite location and wanted our reciever number.  I got suspicious and handed the phone to my husband who just played dumb and said he wanted to speak with someone who spoke english better because he couldn't understand the accent.  Went online during this time and looked up the number and found out the call seems to be a scam.  We told the guy we were not interested and to take us off the list as we are on the do not call list.  I can't believe these scummy people.  What jerks!  How dare they do this.  We are going to call DISH network about this. DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM!

The first # was 1-888-942-DISH(3474) where a lady connected to me to 1-888-333-DISH after deciding the problem I needed resolved would be better handled by that department. My problem, upgrading, was sent to the "sales" department, where they tried to sell me everything but what i needed. I gave them my #, name, and address so I'm sure that was only the beginning of their pestering ads :(

Last week I mistakenly called 1-800-333-3474 and got the directv rep trying to sell me this crap.  My wife corrected my mistake and had me call the 1-888 number, today I called the 888 number and got someone trying to sell me a home security system, then I called the 1-800 # and finally got the real dish network. WTF!

I followed up on this by calling Dish Network and informing them of this misrepresentation. I then called the REAL main number for DirecTV that I found on their official website. I told them about this misrepresentation being done in their name by one of their supposed "authorized dealers". While I would suspect that they already have been made aware somewhere along the way, who knows.

I suggest that anyone who has this little scam pulled on them call 1-888-777-2454 and complain to the folks actually at the heart of DirecTV. They are being made to look like weasels and because of this incident I will never even consider switching to them.

I never gave away my cell number but seems it's compromised somehow. Things don't go that simple in this world like you think. Maybe you are one of them and defending yourself? :)

I called 888-333-DISH (3474), these people are really scum. I was trying to get a second receiver for my Dish, but figure this out real quickly when they kept asking for my SS#. They kept trying to sell me an ADT system and would let me get past the rep. I finally I just hung up.

I thought I was calling dish network, and then he sold me high speed internet, affiliated with dish network, direct tv, and also att and Verizon.

This really IS a valid number for Dish.  Just Google it to find out!

I received a VERY convincing flyer today with the DISH logo all over it with a discount for Show time. THEY DID NOT IDENTIFY the company but immediately asked for my phone #, name and address and if I had been a customer for over 2 years. She said she could upgrade my service for 3 months, new equipment and then she said I had reached DirectTV. I called repeatedly to get a supervisor, they wouldn't put me through. I will be reporting this to a consumer agency for fraud. Dish phone number is 800 (not 888) 333-3474.
