You have to skip through the ads and it worked. First time I ever entered my cell # in my putor.

Called me FOUR times today.  Several times yesterday.   I never answer, I'm on the "Do Not Call" Registry, but it doesn't seem to matter.

I also filled out some job applications online and I typed in my cell number and they started calling right after.

i called this number and it is related to some college information they say you requested on line

Got a call from them they have only called once so far hope it never happens again though!  They said I signed up for something which I don't remember doing...

Actually, if you call during business hours, there's always someone who will answer.

They got your number from a form that was submitted online.  If you want them to stop, all you have to do is tell them "My name is ________, and I'm not interested."  If you just hang up, company policy is to try you back.

The company is Search 4 Degrees.  They give out free info. on colleges and universties.

In order for the calls to stop you need to verify who you are, and let them know you're not interested.

The National Do Not Call List does not apply to calls that are generated (meaning you submitted your info. online).

In your case I bet someone submitted the wrong phone number, probably doing an online survey, so everything they checked yes to will be, unfortunately, calling you.  I'm sure that's very irritating.  These different companies are not affiliated with one another, so unfortunately you'll have to let each one know that they have the wrong #.

Actually, they're not.  I believe what happened in your case, is that someone used your husband's info. and submitted the form.  Usually it's kids pulling pranks or trying to win something online.

Wow!  That website is not a very good one!   When searching for jobs, especially online, it's best to use your local department of labor.  It's much easier to navigate than other job sites, and you'll be able to find jobs in your area.  Other good job sites are monster.com and careerfinder.com, but beware, if you're not very internet savy, these sites have ads for college info., too.  
The difference is, if you select "no, thanks" or "skip" buttons, your info. will not be submitted to companies.

The caller was nearly unintelligible (female with a heavy foreign accent), and the connection was bad, and all I could make out was that it was something about "colleges and universities". I also got a call from 213-289-5542 earlier the same day about online courses I had supposedly signed up for (I had done no such thing)--I don't know if these bogus calls are related.
