I just received a call on my cell with the same 72 hour deadline for a fraud action.  I have no debt, other than my mortgage.  I know this is a scam.  I wonder if they are robo-calling cell numbers in the hopes that someone will call them back, then they'll have your info that it is a valid number, and they will keep calling you.  I ignore any call that I do not know and I never accept a call when I do not recognize the number.  I always let it go to voicemail and I never call back.  I used my land line to see who they were.  

One suggestion:  contact your attorney general's office, consumer fraud division and report this.  There are just so many scammers out there it is frightening!

In order to file an action, you must be able to prove damages.  Just because they are calling, even if you have an old debt, does not mean you have suffered any "harm".  Contact your attorney general's office, consumer fraud division, to alert them to this illegal activity.  They would have the right to bring an action but unless you can show that you have been harmed, you have no case.

Yes, I just received a call from ?Jessie Carter, the number on my caller id was 888-914-8766. she states this is for a payday loan in 2008, but I filed chapter 13 in 2010. She claims we can work this out the original loan was 500.00 but she says I owe 1320.00 but if I pay within 72 hours I only have to pay 500.00. Or I can risk going to court and being arrested....REALLY!!!!!
She tried to act very kind by giving me her personal direct line which is 404-418-8316. So i passed it on to my attorney, see what she says now!

I received a call too from several different numbers and when you call back they just ring and ring.  They also keep calling different people I know trying to find me even telling them that charges are going to be filed against me, now that alone is illegal to be telling someone else my situation.  The one time they called My moms
house and wanted me then told her about the bogus charges And wanted to know my place of employment and how to reach me she said well if you think you
Know so much about her you should know that and hung up they gave never called her back.  How do I get these calls to stop?

report this company to the Atlanta Police Dept as they are bogus and doing illegal collection tactics. Do not worry about this company because they will not come to you and you can tell them to kiss your ___ !!!!!!!!

I just checked the Georgia State Bar Association website for any lawyer with the last name of Giovanni.  There is no such person authorized to practice law in that state.  If he is saying he is a lawyer, ask him to prove it by providing a current license to practice (these must be renewed yearly in order to practice legally).  If he cannot provide such information, you need to stop talking to him and report him to the Georgia State Bar Association as a fraud, then to the Better Business Bureau for the State of Georgia.

I would definitely be interested in joining.THIS IS NUTS. They keep calling my home and cell# for something I don"t owe. But won"t give an address. I was told they are in Atlanta, Ga. but no street address.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Let me know what to do and I'm in.

I just retrieved a message from "Brittany Wade" stating that there was a "criminal complaint" against me and that I must call her back "today" (Friday) because the complaint is "scheduled for due process first thing Monday morning", and I can't wait to tell my husband about it tomorrow morning when he wakes up.  He will also have the dubious pleasure of listening to the recording.  He was a respected attorney for over 40 years and also served as an elected circuit judge for 12 years.  We have a close friend who handles class-action suits against companies committing debtor fraud and will make mincemeat out of these creatures.  He has been very successful at it.  This has made my day!  Incidentally, I don't have any legitimate debts in collection, either.  Please, whatever you do, DON"T PAY THESE PEOPLE A DIME.  The advice some gave about reporting your calls to the Attorney General's office in your state is very good.

I received another phone call from this number on Friday (888-914-8766) but because I never took the first call, this time they did not leave a message.  The first message said that there was a fraud complaint being filed against me and that I had 72 hours to act.  Huh?  Not so, so I know they are phishing (is the correct term).  Don't take their calls, don't return their texts, don't return phone calls.  No debt collector can do anything against you without proof of mailing.  You also have the right to see an accounting of any debt.  If there was a true fraud complaint, I am sure I would know about it from the few sources where I do business.  Another suggestion:  have only one credit card, don't use any department store cards, pay off your balance every month and you will know you can never be scammed.

I just received a call from Allen Foster he is claiming that I defrauded a financial instition. He told me that the charges have not be filed with the county yet or with the state. I had 72 hours to come up with $1456 for a payday loan that is over 10 years old, and if I didn't I would have 2 charges. They offered me a settlement, and if I do not I could spend up to a year in jail if the county court sees fit to charge me. I asked for the lawyers name he told me his name was Attorney Russell. and my case number is one that is odd for my state. The company is a total fraud. I called the police to call them and handle it. I do not handle being called at my job and being threatened

This same idiot (Alan Foster) called me from M.C.S I called the Federal Trade Commission 1(877)382 .4357 and filed a complaint.#45323233 I dont even know the person they were looking for but they keep calling If anybody wants to call the ftc use that complaint number.

They have called me to trying to get me to pay something that i am not responsible for,they claim i am facing 5 yrs in prison if i didn't pay them this so called money i owe,i then told them i am on disability which i really am,i told them that and they said people that are on disability  can get loans easy to pay them a fee to stop me from going to prison...These people need to be caught before they really rip the elderly off.They called me from this #888-914-8766 and the # does exist i was able to call them back..Can someone get on these people and lock them up to stop them from harrasing and ripping people off.

We received a call from 1-888-914-8766, female said her name is Teddy Andrews call her back at ext 1004 Claim # 1452304. Well, I called her back. She asked if I knew so and so? I said, no, this is no longer their phone number. I told her that I was recording our phone call and letting her know that she has the wrong number and if she calls my number again, I will be filing a harassment complaint with my local police dept. I told her I would also be reporting her on the internet along with everyone else. She was very quiet. Matter of fact she didn't say a word! I hope for their sake they don't call again because I will file a complaint with my Police Dept. Have a nice day!!

They keep calling me asking for someone I don't even know. I don't even give them a chance to be rude because now when they call, I just tell them they have the wrong person don't call me anymore then I hang up on them!. It doesn't really change anything though because they just keep calling every other day! I hate these people, they are calling my work cell phone that isn't even under my name so they couldn't possible being trying to trace me. I think they just have a big list of anybody that owed money at one point in their life and just randomly call hoping they can get at least one person to hand over money. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure their is a limit on how far back someone can go to sue over debt, like 7 years from the first report.

They told me I owe money from a mastercard back in 2007 they said they are goin to take me to court and charge me criminally

They just called me and told me I owe for a payday loan. They said they were sueing me and that this phone call was them "serving" me. They said they would take my home. My baby started to cry and then she said she would seize any bank accounts my child had if I didn't pay her at least half of $1100.00. I told her I would gladly  pay in full before end of business today if she could provide me with proof via email or fax of the debt. She became hostile and said she ran my credit and did the background check and she wod feel terrible putting me in jail but she will. Whatever my husband got a call to the house last week from the same number and gave them his card number set up a payment plan and gave them $100 upfront!! Ugh we had to get him a new card! These people are frauds hoping to get an uninformed person on the line that will fall for these scare tactics!!

These are junk debt collectors who buy out of statue of limitations debt.  It is illegal for them to say they are taking your tax return. They CANNOT do this nor can they have you arrested.  They will not show up at your work or home.  They are trying to scare anyone they can to make as much money as they can on something they paid pennies for.  DO NOT FALL for this.  If they call your work, ask for their company name and address (which they will probably never give you) and send a cease and desist letter. They probably won't stop, but you can get an attorney which I did and I am suing them. I saved every phone call and would advise anyone else to do the same. Don't even talk to these criminals.
