I answered and there is no one on the other end! My Panasonic cordless has call blocking capabilities! Block! Oh and as for the collection agency comment above , "pay your bills people" I don't owe any money; but my phone number used to belong to someone who does! These people are relentless!

They called this morning I wouldn't answer it because I didn't know the long distance number (902)442-8588 they left a message for my husband to call them back with a reference number and it was very important he call them back. Wish they would stop calling! We won't be calling this number back!

I have been getting same 1-902-442-8588 calls for awhile...asked them to take my number off their calling list....I do have an outstanding account...but it`s like 10 ys ..old...I have inquired...and I am no longer responsible for this account...So they will never be able to collect from me.So..STOP..harrasing me....The CRTC...advise me not to answer....it`s annoying...a lady said she would continu calling ...and I will continu hanging up the phone..hahaha

This number has called 6 times. I answered today, and they asked for a Trevor so and so. I said no one here by that name. They asked if I knew Trevor so and so. I said take us off of your call list.. and when she asked me what our number was I hung up.

Been getting the same calls from 902-442-8588 Nova Scotia PEI at about 8:00 a.m.  Usually I am not home yet it shows on the call display for either the fax or home phone.  Picked it up once when home, and a recorded message in a strong male voice came on saying "Jane Sunshine Doe this is an important message ..." Since my name is not "Blankety Blank" I hung up the phone.  Don't know who yet I do know now that it has been calling an unlisted fax number, go figure.....

Got a call today from 1-902-442-8588. They didn't say anything, just heavy breathing & growling like a psycho!!!

They keep bothering me even though I have nothing to do with them. I have told them several times that they have the wrong number but they do not want to listen. Such a nuisance!

Anyone wants the address of these guys here is the physical address: CRS (Contact Resource Services)- 2070 HADWEN ROAD, Suite 300 MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, L5K 2C9. These people should be shut down by the government for all the illegal tactics they use to harrass and intimidate unsuspecting individuals. Apparently there a hundreds if not thousands complaints against them, so why they are still in business is anyone's guess. Our government is obviously not doing a good job policing these types of companies and there principals. One should file a complaint also with the Consumer Protection Agency Ontario, hope this is helpful.

legally, under the privacy act they shouldn't be bothering you. If there after you money ar passed loans. you didn't sign any agreement with them.

Be extremely careful with calls from this number  or their toll-free number 1-877-881-8088 as one of the things this outfit does is buy up for a few cents on the dollar old (alleged) debt which is long past any statue of limitations and try to coerce or trick people into acknowledging the debt to make it still current and therefore potentially collectible.

Then the bullying tactics rally will start!

Approximately 25 years ago a credit card was issued in my name but not at my request.

Back then it was a nightmare and my lawyer challenged this with them and the matter was apparently resolved. I have heard nothing about since my layer contacted them over 20 years ago!

Now it seems that a collection outfit, CRS has bought this file and is harassing me by phone and mail to collect the original principal under $2,000.

I am refusing all their trick calls, and they use many numbers.

Whatever you do, do NOT ever answer them as you may accidentally reopen a totally uncollectible alleged debt and make it current.

I received a letter from CRS about a debt that is 13 years old. I had no idea what it was about so I called (they are conveniently only open M-F 9-5 EST).  Apparently it was a debt on a credit card from 13 years ago but it did not state who the debt was from on the letter.  The debt is due to fraud (I never received the card, it was stolen from my mailbox).  I complained to the company and they said they would investigate the fraud since they are the ones who allowed it and since I was in the middle of moving provinces, I never thought anymore about it.  I never acknowledged the debt with CRS but felt cornered due to the harassment and bullying of the person I spoke with.  The girl said I could pay the debt in full or by monthly payments and they would write off enormous interest.  I said I wanted evidence of the alleged debt and she said if I wanted that then the interest would be reinstated and the total balance would be owing.  After much arguing back and forth and not knowing anything about statue of limitations and all that, I felt cornered and I said I could make monthly payments but it was not fair that I should have to pay for a debt that is not mine.  Now I understand that the call was recorded and they edit them to make it sound like you acknowledge the debt.  Did I just open a can of worms for myself or do I have any recourse?  I feel like I was tricked.  I never, ever, ever acknowledged the debt and I have never sent anything in writing or made any payments.  I am so terrified that they will try to take legal action.  HELP ME WITH THESE SCUMBAGS.

And what happens if you do without knowing it?  Isn't this entrapment?
