How did you determine names?  Nice job!

I have received calls stating that I owe money and that they will settle only today. If no arrangement is set today they will continue charging interest and will no longer offer any settlements. They say my total balance is over $300 with interest but that they will settle for $150. A lot of people they call are told they can pay $150. This seems to be a scam.

We get these calls without explanation...some guy trys to sound tough and demands a call back.  I owe nobody  anything how do I stop this harassment?

this guy chris called me twice on my cell phone leaving very rude messages. and now is calling my work harassing my co-workers when they tell him i'm not their.

These people called my wife and harassed her, so i called him back (Thomas) and harassed him and he hung up on me. Truth be told, i have been in jail and dont mind going back if I get the chance to meet Tom.....On the other side, I will call and report them to the BBB. I will also send a letter to the address, to stop the calls. Thanks for all the info. Btw, we payed the debt they are trying to collect. I do believe their information is askew.

"Mr." Thomas gives his name as Thomas Reed when on the phone. Someone by the name Mark gives his name as Mark Barrera or Mark Walsh when calling. These are also unlawful practices.

they now try to hide their number but my smart phone identifies the number anyway and blocks it, i just look on my blocked calls and sure enough their number is there also marked as unknown,  haha nice try scammers, my phone is smarter than you are

they keep calling but they dont want to say why they keep calling

someone keeps leaving messages on my machine for someone I don't know. I finally call today and told them to take my number off. the guy wants to know who I am before he can take the number off. I told him why should I tell you who I am if I don't know who you are. He thought I was being rude since he's conducting an "investigation." Yeah right, rude is not taking the number off after I tell them I don't know who they are looking for.

I hope someone does not show up at atlas recovery and superglue the locks on the doors...they wouldnt be able to get in the door and call people..

a new bottle of super glue bought from a hobby shop...a little zip kicker to make the glue dry very fast. Key wont be able to go into lock now...

They called about some "debt" which I have no idea about. When I asked the guy to stop yelling at me he called me a loser and continued screaming. Seriously, I'm a 43 year-old professional. He hung up on me and I called back to speak to their supervisor. Another screamer with the most profane mouth.

I just tried to file a police report on these people. We are trying to ascertain if this business is a) legitimate b) located in Irvine, CA as the caller ID states. In any case, the police officer I spoke to said my account of the story is NOT legal.

If you receive a call from these people I would record it immediately. Whether you have debt or not this is not legal. The officer said these businesses generally buy up debt for pennies on the dollar and then illegally harass people. Try to file a complaint. They are breaking the law.

Started getting calls from this number once I got my new phone. My guess is this number belonged to someone else and this company is looking for them.

We keep getting calls for our son Robert who has not lived here for over 14 years. I guess he gave our number, but it is getting very worrisome. We keep telling them we cannot call him and have not seen him in four years. He uses a friends phone to call us about five times a year, other than that we have no contact. We know he owes money and his credit is in the toilet, but we will not be held accountable for his debts and we are sick and tired of the calls.

Got a call from this number today.  They said they were with RA Associates and had left several messages with me (never got one), and that it was important for me to call them back.  I called back immediately and got a voicemail for the office of Bob Alexander.  Sounds like a total scam.

Atlas seems to be a collection agency. They are most likely attempting to track someone else down who may have used information related to you. This tactic used by collection agencies is unfortunate, but is typical as they try to track down folks who default on financial responsibilities...
Bottom line, use the call from this company as a warning and check your credit reports. If you do speak with them, be as pleasant as possible (if they are not nasty) and do not confirm your name, but do ask them to tell YOU why they are calling you. In my case, they provided me with the name of the person they are looking for... I was already aware of this person attempting to use my info for fraudulent purposes. I informed them that I had already filed a police report about this person (which I have) and they said that they would remove my number from their list. I have not recieved any further calls.

its imperitive we hear back from you, etc. they dont say what the call is about and now they are calling 4 to 5 times a day.

I got a call from these people harassing me and threatening me with a lawsuit. What a--holes. The person that I spoke with wouldn't even let me talk. He said that he wasn't interested in what I had to say. The only thing that he was interested in is collecting a 5 year old debt. I am an unemployed student. I don't care about this kind of s--t. I've called the BBB and typed up a letter to have them cease all communication.

Some guy just left an ugly message on my phone. They have a recording now where you can leave them a voice mail. My daughter walked in and distracted me. I gave them my company fax number and complained on the voice mail. TWhen I realized that it's a public fax, I called and left another message to stop them from faxing... please send to my email. OMG! I'm gonna have to close my email acct down. BLOCKING this number. I came to this site once before b/c they were so ugly!

Be aware of this number. they are rude and hustle. This seems to be a scam. Do not reply to their unprofessional, you have to call them back messages. when they call they are not free about giving info of who they are. This is a scam!!!
