These dumb [***] called me also, saying that I have been charged with 3 counts of fraud, and I will do 6 months in jail, I will not be able to drive in any state, and that they closed my account, if I pay them 300 now, and set up a payment plan, they will turn my back back on.  They actually called and used some hoax software to put bank of America number to show up on my caller id and said my account had be shut down.  I called my bank and they said no account has been shut down.  They are a scam, please do not give them any money.  The people are from India, and are trying to get money from Americans.

I had the very same experience as you. I did go to my bank and verify that I did not have any returned payments just incase of ID theft. The bank is now looking for any strange attempts to withdraw money from my account. It's good to know about similar experiences. Thanks for the advice on how to handle this.

Someone from 951-223-6693  phone number called me and said there was a pending "criminal case" against me.
When I asked the reason they gave me a number to call for details. The number was the same with an added extension.

I received a call from them today.  They told me that I had 3 counts.  Check fraud and some other crap.  I told him I was going to look up the number to the actual California State Attorney's office and he said he would 'see me in court.'  Said his name was John Something.  I was like whatever.  Non English Speaking fool.  And he called my work, not my cell phone so I know he's scamming.

I was contacted by these same people today & the first thing he said was do I have an attorney. When I said no & what's this about he said oh you don't know? Then he proceeded to say I have 3 charges against me & I should contact an attorney. When I told them I. Have already made payments to cash america he got really nasty and said the authorities will deal with me. I contacted a attorney & he advised to call back & record the call & they can not arrest you. I also contacted the court house & she said they can't arrest you either. I was also told it was probably a debt collection agency posing as attorneys. When I called them back & told him I could give him the name of my attorney he didn't want to deal with me & said let your attorney help you in court & hung up. Haven't heard back from them yet.

A man named Jody Turner has been calling me telling me that there are criminal charges against me. This has happened before so I hung up on him. He calls back and I told them there were no charges against me and stop harassing me.. Also told him I was going to report him. Where do these people get our numbers??

They call from various numbers it is a scam... They get your infomation from online if you have ever attempted to get a paayday loan... They almost had me last year until a friend of mine called the number back and started asking questions on my behalf and we realized that the company is trying to fraud you out of money.. PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS...

My husband recieved a call from this number as well. They told him to purchase a prepaid card and put the $300  on it. He said okay, then told the man to speak to his lawyer, the man hung up on him and has not called back. So sad to see how far people go for a quick buck.

Got the same phone call from 2 different numbers so far....called my local police and they gave me a few sites  however they didn't work very well so I called the FBI and they gave me a site that you all should look into. ftc.gov click on consumer protection and then file a complaint. I hope this helps all of you and we will take them down one by one.

I just got called by this co. And was told the same thing I had three outstanding warrents an owed money.  I ask the man John Smith (how original) who I owed the money to and he thing up on me the Aldo call using a 503 area code.  These people are frauds

I have gotten about 30 calls from a place in Hemet california. a man with a very thick accent of Eastern Indian told me I was a victim of fraud and I was to call a man named Micheal Johnson at 951-223-6693. This has been constant the past 3 days.

I have had about 30 calls from hemet ca asking me to call a michael johnson who will explain everything. lol

My Mom had a stroke...these people scared me ...I hope that all of us band together and call the FBI and stop them from harrasment and scaring nice people ..So ugly Hope they rot

A man with a strong Indian accent called me this morning, I could barley understand him, he was telling me to contact California Atty Michael Johnson regarding charges that had been filed against me?  No idea what he was talking about, I said I would call the number back after I did some research because I new nothing of what he was saying, never received any type of correspondence stating anything of the sort!  I basically had to hang up on him because he wouldn't stop talking!  Then 5 minutes later he called back asking why I didn't call back yet!  I was so upset, I told him to stop harassing me, I'll call when I call and I want you to cease any further calls to my number and hung up!  THEN started googling and thankfully found this sight!  I CALLED BACK AND REACHED THE SAME GUY!  Told him I was reporting the calls to my local law enforcement as an attempt at possible fraud and to NEVER call me again! He was awful and wouldn't shut up!  What an awful experience first thing in the morning!   Any advice on what I should do about them having my info?

They are a fake company trying to get money i told the guy dont call me anymore. He gave me number to call and when I did they hung up tell those fake ass people to stoo calling or your going to call the police

I had the same guy call me...  indian guy named john smith...  kinda weird but ok.. asked me and told me the exact same things you are talking about.. said that if I didn't pay him 500.00 in 45 minutes that he was going to download my paperwork and the charges would be processed to the police and so on.. got me real freaked out. something didn't sound right to me so I looked it up online..  then I saw all of these posts and several hundreds more all saying the same thing.... FRAUD AND SCAMMERS.... thank you all for easing my mind...

I've had the same thing for several days now.  Guy tells me he is from the I.R.S. department of the Internam Revenue Service.  I told him I filed a fraud report but he keeps calling from different numbers.  I hope they get this scumbag.

Indian sounding male identified as Harry Morgan calling from the Internal Revenue Service called demanding a return call from my attorney of record, or myself in reference to a income tax deficit.  Received this call Saturday , August 17, 2013, at 08:53am.

I got the same type of call this morning. This happened to me a few months ago too. It stopped as soon as I reported it on the national do not call registry. The
complaints filed on that site are sent to the FTC to be used in investigations of these companies. So if you haven't already please report the number. It the only way these companies will be [***] down.

Same thing has been happening to me. Some guy with a very thick accent calling from (951)-223-6693 and is telling me that I have charges against me and if they don't hear from me or my attorney then all he can do is wish me good luck???? WTF??? So I have been ignoring the calls but then I receive another voicemail from this number  607-795-7547...IT WAS THE SAME GUY, SAME ACCENT AND SAME MESSAGE but totally different number..... The 607 area code is from New York and the 951 area code is California area code. These people are scammers and should be put in jail. This is getting ridiculous! !
