Well thank you for that post you obviously are an employee for these debt collectors. The man who called me sounded like he was 90 years old. No thank you, not calling them back.

Don't answer their calls anymore. If you look at the letter they send you they use wording such as; you MAY be sued. Don't play their games and don't worry you will be o.k. You just keep on track with your education. Those calling are probably if best high school graduates wanting to live the dream of being a pseudo attorney.

Preston, Powers and Stone are also trying to scare people into paying by saying the person's employer will be investigated for assets so they can go after the company. This can't be legit at all.

Preston Power and Stone called me today at work. I'd never ever heard of this company. Our operator  took the message that they it was URGE for me to contact them today. They left their number 956-429-3034 and a case number  and the name of Alex to ask for.I'm pretty sure that if had any legal problems going on I would know.It really sounds like a BIG SCAM ! It seems like to me if it were  for real I would have recieved a certified letter or some kind letter showing that there was a lawsuit pending against me.They should not be able to say that they are from a law firm when they truly  are not!!!

These guys have been harassing me for a false claim of a home inspection that was never done and an alleged sub contractor doing a structural engineer evaluation on a house that never completed a report or bill after offering to make payment.  They send nothing in writing; and have nothing in writing from me authorizing the claims they make for their client.  The simply work verbally and try to intimidate.  Glad to hear I am not the only one and know they are scam artists and not attorneys.

i closed my account with cornerstone and somehow they got my new cell phone number, and they are now saying that i owe 800 dlls for an account that i close . I left town for months so there was no point on having a membership i sent proof of my new address and the new city, and now apperantly they have "proof" of phone calls and letters sent to me which i received none of the above. This is a big scam, i am not planing on paying an agency that its not even legit.

It's a collection agency.  And a bad one at that.  They can't even pay their own bills.  If you owe money, go to the debtor directly.  Do not go through this collection agency!

This company has also not paid on accounts collected for my husbands business.  I just got off the phone with our local police dept who said that since you have a signed contract with the company it is not a criminal but rather a civil matter.  So you would have to take them to court to get your money.  If you do not want to do that or are not in a position to do that you can  work on getting this company shut down by filing complaints with the BBB as well as the Attorney Generals office in TX.  If enough people complain they would have to investigate the company and maybe get them shut down.

This is written by Gary a man who used to work for preston powers and stone and was fired. The company is a major scam, sure they do collections but I wouldn't give them my money. If you owe pay the people you owe NOT preston powers and stone. They are criminals I swear by it.

I really can't believe some collection agencies...i recommend that any payments needing to be made go directly to the office where your services was rendered. Do not ever give out check info or social security numbers...or any other info by phone. These people harass and harass...they want your money. A lot of them already filed at the end of each year and collect some compensation for non payment.
As for what you went through and might still be going through cancer...tell them you will make payments...even 10.dlls a month is something...it's not like if you are not paying. They abuse people in such a harsh way! They collect some percent for all the debts paid. Lord bless you.

    I did some research.

Gary, you were fired because you  were a manager who NEVER MANAGED. You only tried to help yourself and not the company. Once the Owner and Managers found out that you were neglecting your duties, you were let go for your misconduct. Getting to work 3 hours late and leaving 3 hours early, or Not even showing up at all was bad judgment on your part. Anybody else would have gotten first INSTANTLY - but Preston Powers and Stone tried to help you numerous times but you failed to listen

don't go ruining a companies name because they fired you. YOUR WERE FIRED FOR A REASON. Also, not once did anybody bad mouth your reputation, so MAN up and apologize. This isn't high school

    The real "Gary"
Ok this borders between shameful and hilarious. I noticed that someone had found the time in their day to go out of their way to not only post a derogatory claim about a company that is untrue, but didn't even have the nerve to use their real name, instead said they were me. Shameful? Pathetic? Hilarious? You tell me.

Anyways, yes I did work for Preston Powers and Stone, no I was not fired but that is irrelevant at this point. I felt since people can somehow find the time to fabricate stories then at the very least I could take a few minutes to actually provide some truth.

First of all let's get this out of the way, even as a "former employee" I find it incredibly hard to lie "just because" or to bad mouth a company just because I didnt get my way which is the inspiration for the majority of these post. I know 90% of the people that posted here and they are all ex employees. Most of them I terminated personally. Whether it was misrepresentation, lack of performance or simple laziness it was in the company's best interest to part ways.

Apparently they have decided that the only way they could find any kind of so called retribution was to go on some blog site and bad mouth anyone and everyone that would not cater to their needs or empower their negative traits. To each his own I suppose.

But everyone needs to understand that these days anyone can say anything about anyone for any reason at all and make it public knowledge. Shamefull? Pathetic? Hilarious? I don't know, you tell me. I would suggest in all business dealing to not trust what some "anonymous" person says on the Internet and instead go to the source so that intelligent business decisions can be made, not emotional, vengeful, deceitful or vindictive ones that can hinder the economic process of "business"

To sum it up I will briefly touch on the so called "non payments" to clients.

What these people aren't telling you is that there certainly were times when a check was not cut to a "client", they're not telling you why.

Most clients in this business place thousands of accounts at a time. Collectors spend hours upon hours working these accounts for the client. Some payments are made to the agency however many are also made to the clients. More often than you'd think, clients don't report those payments being made even though the agency, such as Preston powers and Stone were the ones that got them in the door to make those payments.

Any good collecton agency will be able to identify these accounts because they are consistent in working their a counts. Now remit rolls around and the client is expecting a certain dollar amount on that check, of course they do and they certainly deserve it if it's due, but what they have neglected to mention is any and all agencies have what's called "offset". If my collector finally got your debtor on the phone after years of him running from you and motivates him to walk into your office with check in hand, then my collector deserved the agreed upon percentage. A contract is a contract and it goes both ways. So abc client may be keeping that 5k payment on the hush hush because now he wants to pocket the entire thing and figures what they don't know won't hurt them, but as I stated before, any good agency knows because they are consistently working your accounts. So the agency of course charges their agreed upon percentage and deducts it from abc clients remit check.

The client gets this check and thinks oh no this is right, there's money missing and inquires as to the reston, most clients completely understand it when explained and acknowledge it as fair. As "per contract" , however , just like some ex employee that becomes disgruntled because they were "exposed" they feel a need to lash out because something didn't go their way and they got caught doing something they shouldn't have been doing. Shameful? Pathetic? Hilarious? I don't know, you tell me.

Anyways I think everyone gets the point. How many "great" blogs do you see about any company? How many great ones do you see about your company? Very few if any at all because they usually don't take time to come on here and post their experience because it's not in their mind. They aren't looking for payback. Vindictive people use alot of energy coming up with ways to hurt others instead of using that energy on improving themselves.

So say what you like in response to this , but the great thing about the truth is it stays consistent.

    Good day everyone!

    The Real Gary

Well all this complaints. If people would pay their bills you wouldn't get called. nothing is free in this world. I used to get upset when they called me but bottom line is services were provided. At no time did they say they were free. stop complaining to get out of your debt and pay your bills. you might sleep better.
