- Neighbor replies to BobWe received a call from the same phone number early in the morning (@ 6am) today looking for my husband. After saying hello twice, with a loud sound on the background. A spoke to a guy with an east Indian accent, telling the same story. That he was working from windows company he said that it's an urgent call our computer has been corrupted and with viruses. He wants to turn our computer on.
- dwb replies to Divamamado not call doesn't work down here either!
- callinghawaiinowWe just got a call from 971-217-9518 and the guy had a heavy Indian Accent so much so my husband couldn't understand him. But he did hear that he was some kind of technical support. When my husband told the guy that he couldn't understand him the guy hung up. We tried calling back from our cell phones blocking our number and it rang a couple times and went to voice mail. We're ready for these guys next time they decide to call. Boy do I have a earfull for them. FYI, They are also calling Hawaii..
- Caller: unknown
- TonI live in the The Netherlands, country-code 0031, and got the call from 009712179518. I just said "hello" and they hang up.
A friend told me it probably wants a return on the call. Then you pay (the receive!) the jasckpot rate: 6 EURO per second or more. DON'T CALL BACK.- Caller: fraude? scam?
- BT| 1 replyHeavy Indian accent saying he was to diagnose my Windows computer, but I told him he had the wrong number. No response on his end, just a disconnect. I knew something was fishy because I have all Mac computers. Lots of back round noise, like a boiler room operation.
- turnipator replies to BTThey have called me several times. When I pick up the phone I usually get dead air with no one on the other end. Today I was lucky, I got to converse with someone who had a bad accent that I could hardly understand him. ( India? Pakistan? ). After he had given me the introductory " your computer is going to crash if I don't fix it." I informed him that for security reasons I was recording our phone conversation. He hung up on me immediately!! So, if you don't want to talk to these scammers, tell them that you are recording the call.
- ArchieCaller ID showed TOP GOOGLEPAGES - call was from an East Indian, probably from an India call center. Told me that he was working for Windows operation system and that they had evidence that my computer was infected with viruses.I hung up

- Rick replies to pianoplayerIt's a 900 number calling - calling them is a way to get scammed by putting a big charge on your phone bill - are you part of it?
- Gavin replies to DaveJust had the same call.
Asked the Indian guy on the phone which computer. He repeated what he said.I told him again to answer my question, and he repeated his same script.
What a scam!! - CanadaReceived yet another of these calls...they say they are from Microsoft and that I have malacious infection on my hard drive...urgently needed to get on to my computer so he could stop my computer from crashing within the next few minutes. Told him I did not have a computer...he seem very confused that I didn't own a computer..didn't say anything...then hung up. I am so tired of getting these calls..sometimes 3 times a day and also after 9:00pm at night. I just wished someone could stop these people.

- KorxaxI get these calls a lot. I usually just berate them as scam artists and they hang up. This time I decided to let him talk and see what they were after. I wasted a lot of his time acting like I didn't know computers that well, but he eventually got me to the event viewer where he told me the error messages there were small viruses that clog up and slow down my computer. He wanted me to go to my browser settings. I'm guessing he intended for me to open up some security, but he hung up when I told him the errors I saw were from a game I had been modding. lol, I guess at that point he realized I knew too much about computers to be able to get any further with me. I used "prank call" as the call type, but this is a known scam. They claim to be from Microsoft trying to "help" you fix a virus problem in Windows. Here's what Microsoft has to say about it.

- Call type: Prank
- BillThey woke me up with two rings early Sat. Morning. Let it ring two times and hung up.
- Bruce JamesTelling me my PC is infected!!! Norton 360 tells me different! SCAM!!!
- roseI picked up the phone, but it was silent at the other end , so I hung up. Did not get to talk to anybody.
- Caller: unknown name
- API got a call from this number yesterday at 3am to my cell phone! No message left. I thought it was just the wrong number. I got the same call again today at 3am exactly again... My phone is prepaid so I'm not going to waste my money to answer, but tomorrow I may call from a payphone to see what's up with the number that way they don't associate me with my cell phone! :)
- CalvinThe East Indian person on the other end of the line said he was from Microsoft support systems. He told me that there was a problem with the new service pack update and would help me to fix it. I asked how he got my number, he said it was listed with the IP address of my computer. I asked him what he wanted and he told me to go to my computer and he would walk me through it. I told him I had already dealt with it, he paused and said pardon? I repeated what I said and there was a pause and he hung up.
- Infiltr8t0rClaimed to be from Microsoft and had detected virus/malware on my pc...
BEWARE OF THIS NUMBER, it is not legit!- Caller: not Microsoft
- leegot a call from the number today they are still saying they work for microsoft and when pushed if they work directly for microsoft will; say they are the technical division. It's a scam to get into your computer and put in malware that they will then charge you to remove
- Call type: Telemarketer
- BethGetting at least 4 calls a day from this number - everyday. I come home from work they try to call. Last night - was by the computer - it was them - picked up the phone and did a blood curdling scream into the reciever - if anyone was on the other end - they are deaf now.
One way I got one harrassing telemarketers to quit calling, started answering the phone 'good afternoon, (name of city here) police department what is your emergency'. These vile organizations are not going to report that, because they would have to come clean about their scam organizations. Seems to work. Reporting the numbers to the government and other organizations that say they are going to go after them - do not.- Call type: Telemarketer
- brentCalled at 5:30 am on a holiday monday. Couldn't understand the first persons ramble due to the thick indian accent, then passes to his supervisor who you could barely understand. Telling me he work with Microsoft and my computer is sending out notifications (couldn't understand the rest), thought it was supiscious, asked him for the IP address sending out notifications. They hesitated at first, then rattled some alpha numeric code at me, as far as I know IP addresses are numerical only. Told them to go F$$K themselve that this was a scam, and if it was Microsoft they would be calling at business hours and then hung up
