I got the same message from Abdul Al Jabal.  After calling the venue and there was no event coming up I figured it was a scam and searched the email.  I should have known from the start with a company email of hotmail and the amount he was willing to pay.  It would have been nice if it were real.

Like the others, we received the same message noted below.  We made further inquiries and came up with similar results.

Email inquiry through Photoshelter. Text was just like others above. I sent a quote for $22,000.00 He negotiated down to $15,000.00 signed amended estimate and then asked about payment. I said check or PayPal, he said wire transfer only and that's when I smelled a rat.
My fake "event" was in Wayne, Michigan at some large reception hall -- same as others.
I say turn this over to the FBI and notify Photoshelter.

same here, via Photoshelter.  for a 4 day job in Michigan.  company comes up as a mettalurgy and chemical company.  seemed to agree to price and details too quickly; i sent a request to speak but obviously will not be following up.  watch out.

Damn,,,  wasted at least three hours working up this quote, looking at pricing for hotels and airfare, etc...

Mine was all the exact same content, even dates,,, only for Boston instead.

But I was wary as soon as I noticed the "outlook.com" email rather than a real company email address.
Then the ridiculously fast approval once I sent him a bid (nobody makes bid approvals that fast).

So then I started doing searches on the business name and his name (Abdul Al Jabal) and the address of the company itself.  None of it panned out anything legitimate.

But it did pan out this page...  should have got more suspicious faster,,  could have saved me a whole evening of useless work.

My question is this:
Why does he WANT money wires?  I understand why someone wants to RECEIVE money wires,, but how does a fraud win by asking to send YOU money by wire.  The whole idea of wires is that it is real money in real time....  no chargebacks, no returns.   Anybody know?  I would like to know so that I can keep an eye out for future scams.

Well... if you guys aren't going to take it, I sure am. A commercial 4-day booking for 30 photos - a dream come true! They've obviously decided Paris, LA, etc. are too hostile and have decided to rebook in the UK...

I've got the same inquiry trough Photoshelter.com for a meeting in Canada. Is too good to be true!
I've searched the venue and it turned out it's a very small Chalet in Canadian Rockies that cannot accommodate that number of people. From there I've started another research and very glad I've found this. Thank you all.

I can't believe this. I got this email, and they wanted to wire transfer me money and asked for my account details. I got suspicious. Started searching the web and I'm shocked to have found this page of other people being scammed by this guy. I am also on photoshelter.

Got the same email in my inbox this morning from photo shelter. Sent quote and when he asked for bank details I decided to wait and check it out. Glad I did.

Received via email yesterday through Photoshelter - here's for Barcelona april 18-21, same text as yours.
BUT - how is this supposed to work for HIM? What's the point? Like I send my account number for a deposit, and then what..? Thanks everybody for their postings - if someone could just explain a little better what is going on

Same here. Got the inquiry per email through photoshelter. April 18-21, Barcelona. Quoted 25'000 CHF (he asked for lesser than 15000€ :), got accepted right away. Wrote that only payment methods are cash, cheque or paypal. Wants to do payment by bank transfer. Asked back for more information like company website, no more answer.
