- debI received a call from a number in Texas 972-427-4339. I didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail. The message was just as everyone else described with the same 800-331-4064 number about receiving documents either at my home or place of employment and to have identification. First of all, I know its illegal for debt collectors to call at a persons employment so I believe the same would hold true for the delivering of documents at ones employment! I've also received this call before and answered my phone and was given instructions not to ignore as I would be served at my place of resident. I never received anything or heard from anyone again. Its ridiculous what lengths a collection agency will go...lie, trick, and threaten. Again, I will ignore and deal with my debtors as I've been doing.
- Lo replies to Yolonda H.I answered but you get the same message not a live person unbelievable that they can do this!
- LoSame message as everyone else I did answer the phone and didnt get a live person just this message to call 800/331-4064 funny thing is I started to get these calls once I had repaired my credit. The statue of limitation to file a lawsuit on outstanding debt is 4 years. If a judgement or lawsuit wasnt filed within that time frame that they are SOL. As people have said already this is a scam

- shannon| 1 replyI just received a call from "Amy" at Accufile. She said her little speech, about legal/formal complaint filed against us, letter would be sent to home or business, and gave me 800-331-4064 to call once letter is received. When I asked what this was regarding, she hung up on me. Very professional, indeed. Almost not worth my time to post this, but since I use this service frequently, thought it was about time I contributed. Once I receive this oh-so important letter, I will update with exactly what it's regarding. TTFN

- Doug replies to shannonGot the same message on my answering machine. I filed a complaint with the FCC, the FTC and my state's Attorney General's Office. I encourage everyone to do the same. FCC complaints can be submitted online. The FTC will take your complaint over the phone. State's Attorney's General office procedures vary by state.
- no more debt| 1 replyGot the same message on my cell phone. I live in Georgia. Guess Amy is making her way around.

- Vina replies to no more debtAmy must be the only person working in the office at 972-427-4339. She left no information for me either, other than to say something about a formal complaint. I know that I am not in collections. I called the number she left, 800-331-4064. Some guy answered and asked for my phone number. I gave it to him, and he gave me the name of the person they were looking for. I told him that my number is a cell phone, and he could clearly hear that I'm a woman and not the man they are looking for. He said that he would remove my number from the file. This is definitely a collection agency.
- Jolene K.My Daughter received the same call a couple months ago. When she called back she was told the same thing about there being legal papers there would be brought at her home or place of business. She ask who the papers are for? The last name that she was given and her last name were the same and that the person gave her name and address as a place were these papers could be dropped of and she would sign for them.
I just got the same call this afternoon. When I called the number back and got the same thing about there being legal papers. When I asked who the papers are for the name I was told is my x-husbands wife and she gave them my name and address. - jongot a call from 'amy' from accufile, stating she was sending forms and,,, at that point i interupeted her and the recording just kept repeating itself...

- ChrisI just called the number back to see what they would tell me. They said I had a payday loan in 2004 that was charged off in 2011 and that they have been trying to serve me paperwork to appear in court. I asked for proof that I had a payday loan and was told they don't have to provide that. The representative started talking about the Statute of Limitations and it being applicable based on the charge off date of the loan. I asked him what state he was referencing and he told me he didn't have time to go back and forth with me and then hung up.
