They called a federal government number in Ottawa.

We don't get this form of spam from reputable organizations, they are clearly not following the rules.

I pressed 1 to hear more information when asked by a human if I wanted more information I informed her they dialed an off limits number.

She quickly darted out an inauthentic sorry and hung up.

I believe they are instructed to ignore all messages that don't result in a sale, probably on a commission or achievement bonus.

What I used to do is leave the phone on the hook without pushing a button and it would hang their system up, preventing a call elsewhere.  Their systems now hangup and move on pretty quickly.

i also got a call today Feb 28/10 at 3:04pm but seeing as i didnt reconize the number i didnt answer it but from reeding these sounds like it was a prank thax all

i gto this call at 1:11 pm feb.26 2010 ,which is today.  my dad got the exact same call on the exact same day. when my  friend ,myself and my dad all tried to call back all we got was one ring then a beeping sound. we tried to find an answer and we thought it was tracker ( a group of people who steal your location and identity) but we found this website and now we have an answer.

p.s. does anyone know how they got my # it`s wierd!

I think this is some kind of investigation about ours phone numbers. Let us presume that you gave somebody your phone #. He or She does not know you in person and wants to know: whom this phone number belong to.  Is this a real person with real address or not?  He or She asks agent to do this investigation. Yesterday I gave my number to girl which I found through internet and today I got this strange call.

I got the same call on my cell but I didn't answer.

the machine called my work number in Winnipeg, MB @ 2:23pm CST. Said i'd won a trip to cancun, and to touch 1 to claim it. not sure how they got my work number since i never give it out. Didn't say what company. it went dead after the message was over.

just got a call from this #, I didn't recognize so didn't pick it up. they didn't leave a message.  I live in Winnipeg and it was at 03/01/2010 at 2:25pm

They left a message on my cell too, except mine cuts off the first part.  He says he's calling from the reservation or something like that.  Weird.....

This number(979-446-0366)  just called my cell phone in Alberta.    It said I won a trip; just hung up.
Have no idea how they got my cell #.  This sucks!

just received a call 1-979 446 0366 as well. No message left. Tried calling the number back but wouldn't connect. Judging from all the responses, it probably is a scam.

This number called my cell, and it was a missed call. I checked it on the computer and do not know this number, and why it would call my cell.

Got these guys calling my work number - this is the fifth call of its kind so far this year. They're just wardialing, judging by the pattern. The laws are all over the place re: wardialing, though.

I'm tempted to put together a time-wasting script with which to answer these guys. Random invalid-but-checksummed credit card number off Dark Coding, a made-up name, and the address of the local free clinic.

It would be even nicer if there were "bait cards" that could trigger alarms when the [***] try to charge them. They do that with cars around these parts to catch would-be car thieves.

got a voice mail  from this number.......says is't michael foss?, fost?......then cuts off.  Did not return a call.

Got a call saying I was selected to win. I hung up and did a reverse search and it was from Bryan Texas.  Level 3 Communications LLC-TX was the company

Just got a call from this number on my cell. I didn't recognize the # so I didn't answer.  No message left.

Just got a call from this number, but didn't answer.  I never recieve calls from unknown, as I've only had this number for under 6 months, but I just gave Canada Revenue my cell number yesterday.  Coincidence?  I don't think so.
