Just called my cell phone.
I missed the call, but I am in Toronto and I don't know how these random numbers keep getting my cell number

This number called me today at around 12:30. Did not answer. I just got a new phone number over a month ago. How the hell did they get my new number. I'm paying 3$ extra a month to have it unlisted. I live in Elliot Lake in northern Ontario.

just called my brand new cell (bell canada) ANNOYING!

I also received a call on my cell phone. Since I didn't recognize the area code, I didn't answer. Looked it up on google when I arrived at home and it was a number from Texas. We should be able to block them.  But the problem is they change phone numbers all the time.

Just got a call from this number, didn't answer. Looks like from all the comments it's a scam. I'm in Toronto

Received a call from this number @ 3:56pm this afternoon.  I could not pick up so I did not hear any message or talk to anyone.  I have an Ottawa number and have a Koodo phone.  I am interested to know if anyone sees an extra charge on their phone bill as a result of answering.

Same story as everyone else.  They have been trying to call me for about a week.  I finally answered and was given the sales pitch by an AVR.  The recording did not identify the company.  Gave two  options, 1 for an operator and 2 to be removed.

Interesting tidbits:

- She claimed to be from Cancun, yet caller ID is from Texas (as above).  Failed basic challenge as she didn't know what the weather was like (I asked if the tornado had caused a lot of damage to her house).  There was no tornado.

- Claimed I signed up to receive their solicitations at a mall Kiosk, but could not provide any details due to "local privacy laws".   Could not identify what statute  or even Country she was referring to.

- Call came into one of two sequential  VoIP numbers.  I use one for Rogers billing only.  

- I do not subscribe to any Federal or Provincial Do Not Call lists.

- Did not identify herself until I kept asking her.  She would not spell the companies name, or provide any call back information. She avoided answering by continuing with the script.

- Kept saying the vacation was free, but required my credit card.

She finally hung up when I asked her what my first name was.

Got this call this afternoon.  I am in Toronto.  I didn't pick up the call because the number looks unfamiliar to me.  Check the web the find this site.  Thank you all

I got the call...   I'm in bc, have a 604 number, and this number is unlisted and is there only for emergancy (only people who know it is myself and my girl).   I use people line (voip).     This is the first time ever I got a call (beside from my girl) on this number.     I didn't answer as it was not a local number so I knew it wasn't important.

Feb 26th at 1 30pm et i received a call from 1-979-446-0366 ?It called my cell phone,i looked at the number,didnt pick it up,cause i live in Canada and waited for a message,but?nothing was left.so im hear sein who it is?

Just received a call from this number on my cell phone.  Let it go to voicemail and it was a pre-recorded blurb about winning a trip to Orlando and to press '1' to claim my prize.  The number originated from Texas.

Just got a call from this number too - in toronto on my cell - did not leave a message.

I live in Ottawa Ontario Canada and I got this call on my Cell from 979-446 0366..I missed the call but the caller did not leave any voicemail.

they just called my cell too. didn't recognize the number so i didn't answer.

That same number (979-446-0366) just called me as well... Again My CELL # wtf how do they get cell #'s didn't answer and no message left as many have mentioned.

i got the call today aswell, i hund up  after hearing the first half minute, its a scam.

Got a call on my cell phone around 3pm here in Ottawa, ON. I hung up immediately because I didn't recognize the area code and was instinctively convinced it must be some form of scam, expensive long distance call, or a stupid telemarketer.

A quick search on Google revealed that the area code 979 originates from Texas. Not sure if it might help but better more information than less.

Just called offering the Cancun thing... press 1 to claim the vacation.. press 2 to be removed from the list... Likley .. a big scam!

Received a call from this number. No message. I am receiving a crazy amount of spam callers to my cell phone lately. Has anyone else?
