had two calls from this number today - hangs up when answered.  tried calling back - get american sounding ringing tone.  suspect that there is an autodialer from fax machine on the other end.  bloody annoying

Called 19th march 2007, knew my husband's name and claimed they needed to discuss a car accident he had in 2005, said they would call back!! Tried calling back but no answer just an american ring tone.

Called on my mobile. Answered, no answer, asked who is it? Not answer and cut off. Called back, American ring tone, no answer.

got a call from this number gt an automated voice saying hat they had called about my car accident gave me another nuber to call back never had a pen to take the number then i was cut off.

had three calls today no answer tried to ring back but no joy just get silence then hang up

Same deal, 2 missed calls, one at 11am tother ot 3pm, try to return call, rings out then silence.

I had a call from this number and tnhey told me I had an accident in Dec last year. Apparently I had a claim stating that I somebody had driven into the back of my car.  I think they were looking to help me get compensation.  This was an accident that never happened

Keep calling to speak to my parntner. They Say its a curtisy call about a car accident he had 18months ago, then they always cut me off once i tell them he's not in (they dont even give me chance so ask what they really want!) annoying!!
Im guessing its some kind of company seeing if you want compensation???

same number 01612494491 rang my phone twice today, rang my phone twice two days earlier. No answer and then just cut off. Reading this thread suggests, it a marketing call to do with accident compensation claims. Had a similar call sometime back, guy on the end of the line tried very hard to persuade me to claim for 'back injury' from car accident against my insurance company. Not interested and don't want to be investigated for fraud.

Had several calls recently, about 1 every other day for the last 2 weeks. Hangs up on answer. No answer when call returned. I have registered with telephone preference service, and am very careful who I give my number to.

Still receiving calls.  tried giving them a bit of their own medicine.  Put 141 in front of their number and continually called it. It was only asnwered once - by an answering machine which received my wrath.  Don't know if it did any good but I enjoyed it for a while!!!

Had several calls over last few weeks from this number. Thought it could have been one of our customers near Manchester. Everytime I have answered I have been cut off. Returned the call and got an American style ring with no answer.

I have been recieving calls from this number at least twice a day i dont answer it . When i call the number no one answers and i still get charged for making the call.

phone call from these twice today, they knew my name, address, and landline & mobile numbers.
they spoke to my sister, and when told i wasnt available, just hung up.
tried calling back, just the american style ring, then they cut me off.

My wife has received numerous calls from this number and is becoming very annoying. We cant block the caller and there is never anyone at the other end to talk to. We have read the caller seems to be advertising some form of insurance, maybe fraudulant. We have not been involved in any accident or made any claims at all. We were wondering how these people get a hold of our details and how many they actually have. Maybe there are targeting a certain network? How can we get these people to stop and if they are USA based isn't 0161 a Manchester code?

same here keep getting calls to mobile actually missed the calls . i tried number but no answer. very annoying.............

Ths number called my phone 3 times, missed the calls but after reading everybodys comments i will not be ringing them back.

Received calls this morning but they left no voicemail - tried to call them back butit just rings for ages - Aaarrrgghhh! Very annoying!
