I got the same call starting today from 0000. A month or so ago it was an actual number, based out of NY city and it was cell phones. Can't understand anything they say other than owing money to a united cash something or other and when i told him it was a scam and i knew it was and had told him previously to stop calling my phone he told me good luck when someone came to my door with legal action. It is a scam and they are pissing me off!

Today at 9:50AM (EST) Jphn Brown from the Bureau of Criminal Identification called again and left only a partial message on my answering machine but this time compared to yesterday when he called the number had came up as "Private Number" but today it came up on my Caller ID as "0000".

All I know is that tomorrow if I receive another phone call from this person John Brown, who happens to be a man with a heavy Indian accent, and leaves me another message again in regards to the fact that I've got to call him back cause there's a criminal action on my name with the last SSN I'm going to tell him to buzz off cause I know he is trying to scam me for my money. If he is indeed calling from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and had a case number on me and I'm in some sort of criminal investigation I would've received some sort of formal paper work from either a local court of the supreme court providing me with detailed information as to what charges or what investigations am I being investigated for and not random phone calls from "Private Number" or "0000" numbers. So If i do receive another call from this Indian John Brown I'm going to take things one step further and file a legal complaint with this John Brown who say he represent the Bureau of Criminal Identification and have them launch a full detailed investigation into this matter.

They call me every 3 months or so. Same deal that they are going to have me arrested at 11am the next day. Of course the police never come and I still dont get served with any legal notices. This is a phishing scam. They rae trying to get you to give them your bank account info to avoid being arrested for bnot paying a bill. You cannot be arrested for not paying a bill and it is illegal for a bill collector to call you and threaten you. So I usually say "bring on the police and have a good day" then I hang up they then will call me back in three months. The only way I know of to stop the calls is to change the number of your phone.

This morning some jerk with a heavy accent called me and asked me:  "Is this ******?"  I did not understand who he wanted to talk to and said "No."  He then proceeded to tell me that if I was *****, I was being investigated by the Bureau of Criminal Identification or Investigation (hard to understand him) and he needed my information.  Then he continued with some gibberish and I heard "legal department."  This sent up a red flag and once again I denied being the person he wanted to talk to.  He then threatened with my having to be arrested any day now and a summons would be sent to "my door."  So I told him to go right ahead.  Awaiting the summons...  Then, I called my phone company who checked the caller log and all they could find was "out of area:  0000."
BTW, my number is unlisted and unpublished - so just another phishing expedition.  BUT I will check into the legality of this sort of call...

These people had been calling my cell SEVERAL times a day. And I finally picked up. The guy claimed his name was "Harold Boyd", and had a thick accent. First, he would not say what company he worked for NOR his the nature of his calling. After I hung up on him several times, (and he calling back).

He eventually says that he was looking for my sister who I do not have contact with, and she listed me as a "reference", on a loan from US Bank. He accused me of lying and that I did know where she was, so that I can "give her a message."   I hung up. He called right back again. I asked to speak to his supervisor, who wasn't there, conveniently. So, NO supervisors was at work that day?  Yeah, right. He claimed he was from a "legal department" and I would be sent a summons for jail or whatever.

He was very, very very, rude.  I hung up on him and he continued to call my phone OVER 20 times back to back! I answered again the last time, and I told him to stop calling my phone and harassing me, because it was not my issue. He claimed he was NOT harassing me, yet he repeatedly called my cell every minute or so.

A friend and I researched in the midst of the madness, and found out that these people were definite scam! Once he called back AGAIN, we let him know that we knew his company was FRAUDULENT. He became extremely upset, and continued to ring my phone over and over again! Claiming he would send the police to my house.

I had to change my number! This is ridiculous! I hope they get shut down soon, so no one else has to go through this!

We have been getting the calls too.  My husband and I think they may have gotten our info from a local car dealership he had applied for a loan with years ago.  The dealership went bankrupt and we're wondering if they may have sold off people's info.  Otherwise i'm not sure what it was because they have his old work info, old address, they have no idea how i'm related to him- just my last name.  They do have our bank account info, DOB, phone numbers, and I want to say social security numbers.  They also have his moms name and phone number (who he would have put as a reference).  The calls started years ago as people saying they were debt collectors about a pay day loan we took out and didn't repay.  (They know how much he used to get on checks- info you'd give when applying for a loan.)  Neither of us has ever applied for a pay day loan so we immediately knew something was up.  Not to mention that everyone who calls has the thick accent but is named something like Tom Jones, Bob White, or the best so far- Tony Blair!  haha  We've started getting calls again wishing us good luck.  They have no idea where we work or live so good luck with that one!  If it keeps up, i'll just have to go to the police station and have a cop give them a call AGAIN.  I'm so tired of this crap.  When they used to call they said they were from Mainland Marketing and I googled that and ppl said they would come to their job and harrass them and talk to their bosses and coworkers saying they owed money until you payed up.  Then they'd try to get more out of you.  SCAM!

Same, same, same ... I am somewhat relieved and now more frustrated! We have applied for payday loans in the past, so I would assume SOMEONE sold our information at some point in time. But they have my name, address, phone, work phone, social security number and references. I cannot even get a name from THEM when they call (other than the Americanized names they use like Joe Miller, Carl Banks, etc.). I feel backed into a wall. My boss has intercepted the calls at work - very embarrassing!

Rec'd a voice mail message from some guy with a very strong India accent, saying that if I or my attorney do not return the call, all he can do is wish me good luck on the things that will go down around me.  He said the issue at hand is time sensitive.  The number he called from was 661-735-4167.

Got a call from this guy(Douglas) that came up 0000. Why is always a guy with a thick indian accent? Anyway he said he was from the cyber crimes division and needed my lawyers information to fax him some paperwork about the case at hand, Of course I told him I knew about no such case then he sent me to the lawyer handling my case Kevin Johnson. He answered with an american accent but by the time I told him I had no idea what he was talking about he was back to full on Indian accent. How stupid do these people think we are! Told him I'd deal with him in court! HA! If anyone feels like calling him to harass him here's the number he left the first time he called my voice mail (904)-469-7963. Florida number. It will ring for a while but he will pick up.

I just got my first call from these people today.  I randomly decided to google thick indian accent and 0000 number and legal matter.  Nice to know I'm not the only one who picked up on the scam.  He said I was going to jail for cyber currency crimes.  I literally responded, "WTF is a "cyber currency crime?" His response "The thing in which how you have committed."  At this point I laughed again and asked if there was someone else I could please speak with as I was having a hard time understanding him (keep in mind I've worked in a US based companie's call center that outsourced some of their collections to india and have many indian friends).  He came up with the standard line that none were available.  So finally I ended up saying, well you just stated you wanted to speak with my attorney so I gave him the number of my attorney (family friend) he told me he didn't need that information since he was talking to me.  I told him that if he didn't need the information then why did he bother asking for it in the first place.  I believe the name he was going by was Tom Jones, I again laughed and said, "well tom if everyone over in india has names like that then I would assume English is your primary language rather than gujarti (sp?)"  He got offended (not surprisingly but, thatw as the point and i in no way condone racism of any sort) and then wished me luck and told me the cops would come knocking at 11am.  That's nice.

So I received a call and a VM message from a Mr. John Brown from the Bureau criminal investigation. He slipped up a couple of times, stating I needed to call him immediately or I would be arrested at my job site. I found it funny as all heck, since I work across the street from the District Court and Circuit Court, and I know all the police and sheriff department members. It is a scam, it is illegal for them to call your mobile, home, or work number if you advised them to stop. If they do not, advised them that you will proceed to press criminal charges against them for disturbing your personal, buisness, or in personal numbers. Found all of this out since I owe no one, took one payday loan out back 4 years ago, that was paid in full. They get your information from these companies.Good luck, if they continue to call, report them for harrassment.

this is exactly what they have left on my vm. they have been calling for like 2 weeks now, and i mean, i have like 10-12 calls in a row at the same time, and usually 5 or 6 vm with nothing on them to go along with it. It is really ticking me off. There should be a way to stop this bs.
